Re: Spyro-Inspired 3D Platformer Clive ā€˜N’ Wrench Comes To Switch As A Console Exclusive

Gridatttack

Looks interesting. I am actually playing the reignited trilogy now and I was paying close attention to design choices made for the levels. Even though the trailer was a bnit quick, I do see some similarities. However, I wonder if there will be a demo, as I'd like to try it before deciding whenever to get it or not. Still, my first impressions is that it looks promising.

Re: Video: Switch's Trials Of Mana Remake Gets Brand New Gameplay Trailer

Gridatttack

Not entirely sold on the shift full action combat, but looking forward it. Also cant wait to hear the soundtrack! The original is one of my faves, and from the 3 tunes on the video, it sounds good so far! (hoping it's one composer, instead of multiple like the remake form the second game which created inconsistencies between styles...)

Re: Feature: One Year In, What do the Pros Think of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

Gridatttack

It's been cool so far. The game has potential to last a long time. My main issue is some of the character balance on a few characters, but for a 70+ roster of characters, it's impressive what the game manages. Would be interesting to see Ninty take it to the next level and create a league like some other companies do.

Also, can't wait for those comments talking smack about how "pro gaming" is irrelevant and blatantly type nonsense with hatred as their drive force with no idea how e-sports tend to benefit a community or being biased with their clouded judgement trying to point fingers only to look smart! 🤣

Re: Guide: How To Make PokƩmon Sword And Shield More Difficult (And Fun)

Gridatttack

Be sure to remove the option when the game asks you what pokemon the opponent will send. It helps.

For the most part I feel that the argument that the "Game is to easy" is just because we know how to properly play the game/have played competitively. Im pretty sure kids these days, which is the main market of the game, might find some areas of the game difficult for someone who doesn't know which moves to keep, etc.

But yes, GameFreak could add a challenge mode, like it did in Gen 5, and actually make it harder.
It's not like the AI isn't designed to do bad. I was playing this modded version of ultra moon which made the game harder, and trainers had pokemon with competitive movesets and mega evolutions,. and the AI knew how to use them. It made for a fun and entertaining challenge.

Re: PokƩmon Sword And Shield Will Star The Musical Talent Of Undertale Creator Toby Fox

Gridatttack

@Majora101 fair enough.

My main problem I see is that people overhyped the game by saying it's "the best game ever made", and when other people who isn't on the genre plays or the general gamer public takes a look into it, they are disappointed, because the game has it's niche and not for everyone.

For the main twist you identify, I disagree on some parts. I'm willing to cut some slack on the game due to the workforce behind the game (1 person made the game, which is commendable). While it's true that other better known games have done that better, what Undertale accomplishes is alright, and in your case it doesn't clicks with you, which is okay (because indeed, no one is/should be forced to enjoy a game) but I feel dismissing the entire game is weird. (I speak for myself; I just pretty much liked the soundtrack of the game and some combat sections)

For the last part, I say blame the ignorance of people rather than the game. It doesn't happens here either, see other cases like Fortnite using existing famous dances and kids seeing them first there then thinking they took it from Fortnite.
While Undertale has taken inspiration from gameplay elements that exists elsewhere, it has it's fair share of good ideas by combining existing ones by providing a new way to enjoy them.

@Majora101 disliking something is fine, but coming with big words saying the game is "awful" with no explanation sounds like the exact thing you're mentioning, but on the opposite side. All these "Undertale sucks" sounds like they're on a bandwagon on the occasion just to look different from everyone because disliking the game is the least popular thing.

Undertale "invading" other games isn't forced by the creator you know, other game studio, devs, etc. are looking to feature him because of his proven success, not because the creator is likely begging to.

I actually look forward to see if Toby Fox will hold up on the future or he will just fade away. Then we can see if he indeed was a one-trick pony or not.

Re: Amazon Clamps Down On The Sale Of Used Nintendo Games

Gridatttack

I wonder if this will help to prevent bootlegs?

I remember, long ago, I purchased SMA3: Yoshi Island on the GBA and was happy to finally own the game.

Then it turns out if was a bootleg because the game didn't save... I was really bummered out.
It wasn't until recently that I finally managed to get an original copy to enjoy.

My biggest issue with amazon is, mostly no pictures. With ebay you could at least try to spot the easy fake GBA games.

Re: Review: Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition - PokƩmon's Biggest Rival Is Still Worth A Look

Gridatttack

@Marxally wow... yeah, that confirms it lol. They short-printed the game (?) (or retailers never ordered it?)

I had to ask to 4 retailers here, they said they didn't order any of them, then suddenly the retailer that did order them posted they received 5 copies (about half an hour before the store closed, so I couldn't go that moment)

I went the next day right when they opened and only 1 was remaining (which is the one I got!)

If I hadn't find it, I see the game is on Steam too, so probably would have bought it there, but I felt for this game, it's best enjoyed on the switch.

Re: Sonic Will Be A Hidden Playable Character In Super Monkey Ball On Switch

Gridatttack

@EmirParkreiner I wonder, what things do you consider rushed? Played the Wii original and it felt... okay? Didn't feel anything was rushed, just lacking in overall substance (compared to the first 2)

Though, I guess the biggest boom for me of this HD remaster is the ability to play with a joystick instead of the motion sensor. I was disappointment the wii mote was the only way, but I guess it sort of expected, as it was a release title.

Re: Game Freak Considered "Changing Up" The Battle System In PokƩmon Sword And Shield

Gridatttack

I agree. They are a lot of "4 move slot syndrome" pokemon that with an extra move, their coverage would be too good and present balancing issues.

However, I think its a bit difficult to try to change the current battle system without actually making a new one entirely. They already tried multiple pokemon in a battle (doubles, triples), variations of that (horde and rotation), a "Nuke button" in Z moves... Seems like Dynamax and Gigantamax was what they came up with (Unless they go crazy like the Tag Team pokemon cards in the TCG or something like that), so curious to see how much it will affect (or break!) the battle system.

Re: Review: Super Mario World - Phenomenal Platforming Perfection

Gridatttack

While I dislike this game because I feel it's overrated, I can agree that it's important to the whole platform repertoire of games. I still have fond memories of collection every dragon coin and finding all the exits.

My main gripe with this is how... bland the graphics look. I guess you could pass it as ok because it was the first SNES game.

However, what I really like and praise this game is, how awesome the modding community is for it. They are such awesome mods of the game that makes the game pretty much endless and replayable forever, and also allows to fix my main gripe with it because the graphics mods for this game are all awesome. (it was also the first game I modded too! Love the map system of this game)

Re: Upcoming Fire Emblem: Three Houses DLC Reportedly Detailed Ahead Of Release

Gridatttack

Interesting. I wonder how the Abyss mode is. I recall someone datamined another mode that wasn't maddening, but it wasn't complete. I wonder if its that.

Also, lol well, figured that the sauna will have its use eventually, as I always wondered why the location place popped up when you entered the area and there was nothing to do.

Looking forward to it, especially the last DLC with new story.

Re: Smash Bros. Ultimate Players Aren't Happy With New Online Tournament Rules

Gridatttack

@SimonCucho exactly why. When a console acts as the server, you're at the mercy of the other players connection.

@YagaMaki I suppose it depends on the host and client connection. I remember I was able to play Wii U online just fine enough, but here, nope. I have my own dedicated internet and have the LAN adapter, as well as the others, and we still get delay. :<

I've heard reports of other players too having this kind of issues. However, I won't say I haven't experienced any lag free battle, as occasionally, I have played some, but most of the time it happens.
