Re: Nintendo's Punch-Out!! Series May Be Dead And Buried For Good

GooseLoose1

@axelhander Media is a powerful thing that actually can shape the way we think and look at the world. It's easy to say stereotypes are harmless, but ask yourself what group are you in the first place?

If you are among the majority then stereotypes might mean nothing. If you are a minority well that can actually vary and have an effect. If media constantly depicts one group in a negative way, then over time one can start to actually believe it to be true.

Stereotypes do actually have a harmful and negative effect on those who are stereotyped. To pretend is doesn't is strange. As a minority in America, I lived through it and still do. From the harmless to the worst of it.

Re: Maria & Melphiles Feature In New Sonic X Shadow Generations Trailer

GooseLoose1

@Maubari You live in a world of millions of people. All them are going to share an opinion on something. Getting worked up about every small negative thing is not worth it.

@MirrorFate2 made their comment because they are interested in the topic. Their interest is negative but they made it because they care about the subject.

They don't have to comment, but at the same no one has to comment on every single thing. But they comment because they want to be part of the discussion. @Maubari cares about the topic.

Someone who doesn't care usually never says anything. Someone who secretly cares but pretends they don't are the loudest blokes in the room. Not every comment rises to the level of hatred, and commenter in this case is not displaying that.

Re: ICYMI: Yes, Dungeons Return In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom

GooseLoose1

@Yoshi3 Nintendo isn't course correcting anything. It's a spinoff game with a different gameplay style more akin to traditional Zelda. It has no bearing on whatever the next big title will be.

Secondly, I never said it's a little fanbase. I said it's a small part of the fanbase who think they speak for everyone whenever they rant about things they hate while also being antagonistic towards anyone who disagrees.

Re: Nintendo And Pokémon File Lawsuit Against Palworld Developer Pocketpair

@LadyCharlie Now that's just silly. And I mean really silly. Sadly I can't use a more appropriate word , but still... Relishing in being wrong rather than showing abit of humility is not very mature.

The commenters here have been very kind in trying to tell you that your comment is incorrect, not just for your sake, but others who might not fully grasp what this lawsuit is about.

You are not being helpful right now when you can be.

Re: EA's Vince Zampella Praises Nintendo As He Teases The Next Battlefield

GooseLoose1

@batmanbud2 That's not entirely what happened. Frostbite which is a proprietary of EA, sent a tweet from the Frostbite offical account in what were mean spirited April Fools jokes.

EA the company did not find the humor in them and ordered the tweets to be taken down immediately and apologized to Nintendo.

I'm not defending EA here, but on that day some jokesters slipped through the cracks and engaged in mean spirited humor. EA had already said it would support the WII U at the time, so it would be unprofessional of them to go out their way to mock a potential future partner, not to mention foolish (Nintendo is a billion dollar corporation after all).

Re: Video: Sega Shares 'A Brief History Of Shadow The Hedgehog'

GooseLoose1

I'll admit, I never was a fan of Shadow. Metal Sonic all the way!

Metal Sonic was a better Eggman than Eggman. Metal took over Eggmans empire, managed to power up it's own way with no need for Chaos Emeralds, and was on par with Super Sonic, who not only needed said emeralds, but also help from Tails and Knuckles.

Re: Feature: Where Does 'Echoes Of Wisdom' Fit In The Zelda Timeline? Here Are 3 Theories

GooseLoose1

@SillyG That may be for you personally, but there's nothing wrong with a timeline or lore in videogames. It's no different from an other medium that does the same.

In this case however, Nintendo just never put any thought in to such an idea, but at the same time didn't imagine fans would. There's nothing wrong with that. Nintendo on their part atleast attempted to connect all the games together just a gesture to fans.

Comics, Books, tv shows, movies, and yes even art have told a grand interwoven universe. Heck, board games too. Videogames in the grand scheme of history are a recent medium that slowly evolved to incorporate more interwoven universes with lore.

And while yes gameplay is important, there is nothing wrong with giving players an entire world of fictional history to explore.

Re: Review: Tchia (Switch) - A Brilliantly Fun (And Surprisingly Adult) Animal-Hopping Adventure

GooseLoose1

@Skunkfish While I agree with you, I can't help but think the score is a bit inflated when one of the pros is "A fresh and loving perspective on an underappreciated culture".

You know how many cultures there are in the world? The average person in their lifetime won't even experience a fraction of them. Many of them go unnoticed or overlooked. It doesn't mean said cultures are underappreciated, it just means the vast majority lack knowledge their existence. There are simply too many as is.

Even still, said culture isn't underappreciated. Quite the opposite really. It is appreciated, by the people of that culture. It's their culture which holds more value than any outsiders appreciation of it.

Re: Nintendo Issues Multiple DMCAs On The Modding Site 'GameBanana'

GooseLoose1

@Anti-Matter Modding is always going to be abused by bad actors. It's just the power that comes with creative freedom.

However, we shouldn't lump those bad actors in with the good ones and call for a purging of mods as a result. You should call out bad things, not ask for everyone to share punishment for the actions of a few.

Re: Sony On Zelda Live-Action Movie: Miyamoto Has A Really "Strong" Vision

GooseLoose1

@Gamer83 Adapting a game to movie is not easy.
Games are an interactive medium. The story themselves are part of the gameplay. It's spread out over long periods to match the length of the game.

A typical meaty rpg can be well over 60 hours. You have to cut all that down to the typical length of a film. That's alot of world building to skip over.

Game movies also run the risk of either playing it safe to please everyone which means making nothing spectacular, or take the risk of alienating people by doing it's own thing.

Even the best of video game adapted movies are just middling.

Movies require good writing to keep the viewer engaged for over an hour. Games can get away with a mediocre plot, because the core thing they focus on is gameplay.

Re: Review: Princess Peach: Showtime! (Switch) - Peach Breaks A Leg In A High-Class Production

GooseLoose1

@Troubbble For me personally, I'm cool with it. Nintendo has the privilege of diversifying their games to meet every target demographic.

I don't get the idea that Nintendo games are all too easy. BOTW, TOTK, Metroid Remake, Fire Emblem Engage, Xenoblade Chronicles 3. These types of games are designed for older audiences.

It's fine if Nintendo wants to make games designed with family and very young kids in mind from time to time.

Re: Random: Ash Ketchum's OG Voice Actor Reflects On "Devastating" Moment She Was Fired

GooseLoose1

@LadyCharlie Fun story:

Someone I used to know claimed they had a mental illness, only to find out later they made it up.

I take everyone's word with a grain of salt. Especially in this age where everyone is self diagnosing themselves with problems they don't actually have. (Yes, people do that. Strange isn't it?)

Personally, im just going to nod my head at that part of her story. I'm glad she's managed to survive not being the voice actor of Ash Ketchum since 2006.
