Yall must have watched a different direct than me. Not 1 new original game from Nintendo worth my time in a 60 minute direct. Yoshi WAY too easy. Fire Emblem look like a mobile free to play and that's the closer? Thank God for DK Bonanza!

Don't care about movies, amiibo, kids books, museum displays, marathons in Kyoto, multi-player dlc, sports games, games I already own because I am a loyal fan boy, only care about one thing. A NEW 2D AND/OR 3D MARIO GAME. And to top it off, I thought for sure they were gonna say Mario Galaxy 3. Why hype up such an old game? So sick of ports/remakes/rehashes/remasters/...

Prolly my all time favorite indie Dicey Dungeons was $3 on Switch. The market will adjust all sales discrepancies. By my estimations, Dicey Dungeons should have sold 34.189 Billion copies at this price if based on quality.

The problem is that the Switch 2's lineup is not the Switch 2's lineup. These games are still Switch 1 games because there are 150million reasons for them to not be Switch 2 exclusives.

Let's all join forces and not buy this so they will start focusing on making more original games....

It's incredible how entitled people feel about video game releases. I hope they cancel it or better yet, just never mention it again!

I just bought a Switch 1 OLED because of my displeasure w the Switch 2s dim blurry screen. Hope it's better, prolly not, this hobby is so annoying now...

This direct was better than the Switch 2 launch games direct. New Katamari? New Octopath? A new Square hd2d franchise in adventure form? I liked it a lot! I don't EVER like what the masses do, it's crazy....

One vote for Switch 1 Version! I'm just gonna dedicate the next 2 or 3 years to collecting tons of Switch games, the last ever great physical Nintendo library...our future generations will have a false version of all current and future video games.

STOP GIVING RELEASE DATES

The 2 songs w words in Mario Odyssey knock the game down a peg. The first time I got to the end and that and heard the song start, I was completely taken out of the game. Completely do not fit in the game. The song at the end should be an epic masterpiece, not a generic pop song. A 10 game made a 9.5 because of this.

Really not a new console, just a refresh. Almost no good Switch 2 exclusives. We reached the moment of diminishing returns in 2020. 1980-2020 is the only Era of video games where the experience increased a lot and games became stories and experiences as opposed to score attack arcade games. Honored to have grown up in this time period.

Hey Sega, release a console. Cartridge only. Modern specs. NO INTERNET CAPABILITIES. No cordless controllers. Nothing to charge. No patches, key cards, digital game ownership issues, blah blah blah. No ambiguity. High quality controller specs. No updates. No endless debate on all of these horrible internet based issues that have completely ruined the landscape. Make the future, don't let the future be made for you.

@Ratmasterd21 Well it looks like it's releasing with quite a large launch line up, and most of it is remakes, re-releases and rehashes. So yeah, looks like quite a library of also rans. Drip feed engaged....

@the_beaver My point is the Switch 2 doesn't have much going for it in terms of original new releases. And if Expedition 33 were to come to Switch 2, it'll prolly run like garbage.

Honestly I have a preorder in but these games are not getting any of my thoughts due to Expedition 33. Idk if the timing was deliberate or if they thought they could actually steal the Big N's limelight, but thier game is so special and it is eating Nintendos lunch. How long will it be before an original Nintendo IP had a game as good as Expedition 33? Xmas? 2026? Ever?....DK looks good, but THAT good?...

My Gamestop closed a couple months ago in Decatur IL. Today I was trying to find a copy of Expedition 33 (NO ONE HAS THIS THING, AMAZON HAD DELIVERY IN 2 WEEKS!) One last shot went to Mt Zion IL where I hoped it was still in business. It was, the store worker was extremely friendly and pleasant, no upselling, they actually had the game, gave me 15% off, found some cool Beavis and Butthead figures, and they had a surprisingly nice selection of SNES NES DS Gameboy....Gamestop must survive! It is the ONLY game store in my whole area! GIVE ME PHYSICAL OR GIVE ME DEATH!

This is all so convoluted that most of these games, even "physical ones", will not work properly in the future. More and more confusing w every generation.

I feel like half of us watched a different direct. No Mario. No Metroid. Only 1 interesting Nintendo game in DK, tons of third party junk, no price, no pre order, games with no dates, games w no footage, and so on. The future sucks. Rehash after rehash after rehash and everyone keeps eating it up. How many of these games have ALREADY BEEN ON OTHER PLATFORMS?!? 1/10.

Why does Nintendo give almost zero notice for these? It's 9pm the day before and I'm just hearing about it. Oh well, just gonna be a bunch of rehashed old games anyway....or will it?!....yes it will.

This game is worthless without a paddle controller. The new Arkanoid on Switch is basically unplayable. Is it that difficult to make one? I mean, the 2600 had them 40 years ago! Nonsense!

Super lazy. It's the same old switch and joy cons. It's baffling how successful Nintendo has been this generation given how lazy the special editions of the hardware were....oh wait, some of the best games if not THE best games ever made....nevermind....

With all of the well deserved complaints about how uncomfortable the Switch is in handheld mode, they go with almost the same form factor. Incomprehensible stupid. They are on top of the world and could have made any ergonomics they want, but they don't change it. I will be buying 2 of them on launch day.

I do not like games w two worlds at once. I love every Metroid game EXCEPT this one. I have been stuck towards the end of this game for a solid 10 or 15 years....

I love Dragon Quest. I am trying to finish up DQ2 and was hoping to pick this up after. Honestly, I am going to play the original on my NES instead of this remake because there will be no performance issues. Maybe a blinking light...

Immediately knocks the game down a couple points. An 8 or 9 is now a 6 or 7. Why not put max effort into the first top down Zelda in a decade? The first original side scrolling Zelda on a Nintendo since Links Awakening? A landmark title is now a bumpy road. Nintendo does astonishingly stupid things.

Sega has WAY more exclusive IPs than Xbox....so...why is there a new Xbox but no new Sega? Xbox and its "Games Everywhere" nonsense have collosoly failed. Sega....ITS TIME TO RISE!

Should have never started using "Retro" to define the 8 and 16 bit eras. It's like calling something "old". Time marches on. EVERYTHING is old, and EVERYTHING is new. It's all relative. In 50 years, PS6 will be old. Then will we refer to it as "retro"? Should refer to these eras by more defined, specific names.
