As many of you are aware, WayForward's purple-haired, belly-dancing mascot Shantae is due to star in another game this fall in Shantae: Half-Genie Hero. After a successful Kickstarter campaign and a development period of a few years, Shantae's latest is approaching the final lap prior to its release and it's never looked better.
Naturally, the game made an appearance at E3 this year, so WayForward put together a new trailer to show off what is likely very close to the final build of the game. It looks like the same Shantae we all know and love, but with a sleek new artstyle and with the return of transformations both new and old. Check it out:

Amazing !! I enjoyed playing last Shantae game ... And this one looks like a mix between last two Shantae games !
I love how HD it looks now .. It's a shame that we won't get a 3ds version since a vita version coming out as well
Looks awesome. I can't wait.
@peeks Got to play a demo, and it definitely delivers! It's too early to say if it's better or worse than the others, but I can assure you that fans of the first three will have plenty to like here.
Looks absolutely great! It really was a highlight of the Nintendo Digit... oh, right...
Kidding aside, I can't wait to get that code in my mailbox.
Spectacular. This is what the Mighty No. 9 trailer should had been like, gameplay footage and a fantastic soundtrack, no annoying narrator.
She's got the rhythm and I got the blues.

And yes I went there.
Looks a lot faster paced than in the last vid. I was a bit worried it wasn't going to live up to Pirates Curse, but I'm reassured now.
@Torakaka Ha, try this instead! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xbPFlwZc9A
Looks amazing. Love the series. I'll be buying physical day 1 so I can get that packed-in soundtrack. Especially now that I know it will likely contain that cheesy/awesome 90's anime theme song from the trailer. This series reminds me a lot of the early 90's anime 'Slayers'. The art, the humor, the music, everything.
Man, that song really makes me want to get the OST that comes with the physical releases of the game. Sure hope europe's getting the physical treatment as well.
The Not-So-Little Mermaid!
Looks awesome and, most importantly, super fun to play!
Day 1 purchase for me. Will we get the nice physical copy in Europe though or just the download?
Is it just me or does the art look improved in this trailer? I really liked the pixel Shantae graphics of the last two games and was a little underwhelmed with the art for this game but now i'm really starting to like it. It's still not quite as nice IMO, but i think this looks very good.
My Kickstarter investment is definitely worth it.
Yes, and as a KS backer, I'll probably buy the retail release to keep sealed and play the download. So looking forward to this!
BTW, I see transformations for crab, monkey, elephant, and mermaid.
This is the first time I've loved what I've seen with this game. It's great to see all the favourite animal transformations (plus some new ones), and I don't know if it's my imagination but the graphics do actually look really good now. The animation on the bosses is fantastic!
I'm liking the art style, but I'm no fan of the music. I've never liked the sound of female pop singers, at least while they're singing in English. I may pick it up anyway, though.
This game was a long time coming, but it looks like it will be well worth the wait.
Very nice trailer!
