Re: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Been Updated To Version 2.0.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

@Desa @sevex Echoing your sentiments, I watched the Direct and came to the conclusion that I won't be buying many Switch 2 games. I'm getting priced out.
I used to feel that Nintendo games were valued fairly. My opinion has changed this generation. $10 for an interactive manual? $20 for a DK rush mode? This is after spending hundreds of dollars on a new console and having to buy pricy micro SD express cards because my micro SD cards with many Switch 1 games on them aren't compatible. I never would have spent $80 on MKW; I only got that game because of the bundle. Having played the game, I have the same opinion. I struggled with $70 pricing on Switch 1 games (TOTK and SMG 1+2) after an established standard of $60.
I am thoroughly enjoying DK Bananza and will be sticking with the base game...unless there is a good sale on the DLC. Otherwise, I'll be saving up for MP4, which I planned on buying when it was first announced. December??? Kirby Air Riders could have waited until December, and Galaxy 1+2 could be released anytime. But we've been waiting literally years for MP4 and it's pushed to the last release slot of the year??? Elder gamer rant over...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (16th August)

The battery on my OG Switch died; it fully charges in about 10 minutes and fully depletes in about 2. This is less than ideal for a system I use equally in docked and handheld mode. I decided to get a replacement and opted for the Switch 2. Backwards compatibility FTW! Given the higher price for the OG Switch in the Americas, the new generation seemed the way to go. Donkey Kong twisted my arm and Samus is looking good up ahead.

As an aside, Costco offered the best deal: the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle and a 12-month NSO expansion pass membership for $525 pretax (this would cost $550 elsewhere). Donkey Kong Bananza is $63 (vs $70 elsewhere).

So, this weekend, I'll be alternating between Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza; I am thoroughly enjoying both. I didn't see MKW as a console seller until I played it. I also downloaded the Switch 2 upgrades for Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, and No Man's Sky, so I might check those out as well.
