Rumour: Ganondorf Actor For The Zelda Movie May Have Been Leaked

I'm glad they're using these lesser known actors!

It comes as refreshing after seeing Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, ect. in every big movie that comes out nowadays

This movie doesn’t sound very appealing; would’ve been better if it was animated a la Studio Ghibli or some such. Meh.

Err, I think you have a bit of a typo on the release date... Unless the creators traveled back in time and released it earlier this year and no one knew about it...

I've seen four movies he's in, yet I can barely remember the movies at all let alone him in them.
I like the casting so far though, so no reason to doubt him.

Gotta say, if this is true I absolutely love the fact they are not going hyper celeb on the casting. I know there’s much that could go wrong but I have a good feeling

@VirtualVisage87 I feel like with how they were able to successfully pull off something like Middle Earth in live action, Zelda could potentially work. Don’t get me wrong, I’m cautiously optimistic.

It definitely would’ve been a dream come true if Hayao Miyazaki and co. worked on a Zelda movie.

I’m glad they’re casting actors who aren’t already household names. It’s a bit of a gamble for Nintendo and Sony because, despite how beloved The Legend of Zelda is, mainstream audiences often gravitate towards familiar faces they’ve seen in countless other films.

This approach gives the story a chance to shine on its own while allowing the actors to become known for these roles, rather than bringing the baggage of previous characters with them.

There goes my dream of Michael Shannon as Ganondorf.

Looked him up online, and I say he would be a nice pick. I can see him be a good Ganondorf.

Perfectly capable actor in Young Rock and Last Goal Wins. They seem to be going with the IP imagery (and hopefully script) being the star instead of throwing famous faces at it.

To be honest, I can’t really think of any actor who would work as someone like Ganondorf. He’s such a heavily stylized character that most actors would feel out of place. It’s similar to Dr. Robotnik in the Sonic movies — they hired Jim Carrey, and he essentially created his own version of the character rather than trying to match the original exactly.

Maybe I’m remembering it wrong, since Nintendo never puts a huge emphasis on story, lore, or deep world‑building, but isn’t Ganondorf technically originally a giant pig‑like demon?
