Re: Mega Man 11 Confirmed For Switch In 2018

I’m just waiting for the devil to show up at the Capcom offices:

“Now look what you’ve done! You’ve frozen everything! Do you have any IDEA how long it takes to get the pilot light lit?!”

That said, announcing a Mega Man Legacy Collection 3 (of color remakes of the Game Boy Mega Man and X games), and that we’re getting an Amiibo of Brick Mega Man would make it perfect.

Actually, I'd like to see them make the Pro Controller the default, and make it so that all that's needed to activate backward compatibility is to sync a GamePad and/or a WiiMote (needless to say, this means continuing to sell those). Let the owner decide if it's important or not, while cutting down the entry price.

I'd also like to see a return to carts, so that players can get into the game faster. Patches/DLC can still be stored on a drive, a la 3DS, but "no need to install" would be a good selling point. Flash is so cheap now that it wouldn't be like the N64 vs. PS1 days, where carts suffer a space crunch compared to discs. Since the discs have to be installed, there's no real advantage anymore. Smaller devs looking to save can stick with the download model.

Finally, they really do need to have comparable power to the PS4/XB1, and if they really want to surprise everyone, go for the Neo/Scorpio level.

Re: Hong Kong Pokémon Fans Protest Over New Translation Issues with Sun and Moon

One aspect I haven't heard anyone talk about is regioning. Many of the people in mainland China who have 3DSs got them either in Japan or Hong Kong, or through gray-market import shops that got them from there, prior to the console ban being lifted (or because they wanted to play the whole library, not just what was let through).

As such, if the Chinese release of Sun/Moon is a different "region", and won't work on Japanese 3DSs, a lot of people are going to find their purchase unusable.

I just can't figure why they would release the Gen1 Pokemon games. They were honestly really broken. What would've been really awesome is if they had released a DLC for the Gen VI games that let you go through Kanto, with the Pokemon distribution and Gyms equivalent to the originals.
