Re: Nintendo Download: 7th March 2013 (North America)

@3Dash: They're out. Go to Outrealm Gate in the actual game, and update. Unless you have a high level team, you will not have a chance in Infinite Regalia. Golden and EXPonential are great for grinding, though; just make sure to check the battle predictions first.

@Windy: Thanks for the heads up! I haven't been to the PSP store in a long time, because there's still so much 3DS stuff I'm after.

@Draken18: Not much; maybe 1,000 or so.

@KnightRider666: Agreed, best in the classic, though GB MMV is up there (and where's the VC for that game, anyway?)

Calling it now, Sylveon is a Normal type. More Pokemon in the pink color group (17/37) are Normals than any other type. It'll need something to make it worth using.

This doesn't preclude a new type, though the amount of rebalancing needed would boggle the mind.

@Windy

You don't actually have to redownload everything. If you have a PC with a card reader (or can get a USB card reader; they're cheap) just do this:

  • Create a folder on your PC, so that it will be easy to find.
  • Insert old card. Copy the entire contents into the PC folder. Do not alter the directory structure or contents.
  • Eject old card, insert new card. It should be FAT32 format. If not, make it so. The 3DS can do it for you if you insert the new card into it, go into settings and choose to format the SD card.
  • Copy the contents of the PC folder (not the PC folder itself) onto the new card, again without touching the file structure.
  • Eject the new card and put it into your 3DS. Hey presto, your 3DS is none the wiser, but now enjoys expanded memory.

Source: Did this myself to make room for 3DS Retail downloads.

Now, if only they'd fix it so DSiWare could run off the card...

Picked up Unchained Blades, Galaxy Saver and Gunman Clive. Code of Princess went into the "later" list after a period of consideration between it and Blades.

I hope a future update allows the playing of DS titles off the SD card, like the Wii. My internal memory is starting to fill with DS titles.

Come on Nintendo, quit recapitulating the Wii Virtual Console and bring the GBA VirtCon to the rest of us.

This is one instance of Sony unambiguously treating consumers better than Nintendo. When you buy a PSOne classic, you can play it on PS3 or PSP, and move the save back and forth. They even give you the PSV version of their Smash Bros analog for free with purchase of the PS3 version. Nintendo wants us to buy the same game twice for the same functionality (only no save moving).

Lest someone trot out the "fanboy" cliche, I am a tri-system gamer, plus 3DS and PSP, and have been a Nintendo gamer from way back. I am simply acknowledging that Sony, in this case, is doing the right thing and Nintendo is not. I enjoy Nintendo, but the reasonable person must admit that some of their decisions are simply inexcusable from a customer-treatment perspective (system-locking digital purchases [as opposed to account-based] and no cross-platform VC, to name the relevant offenses).

Nintendo, please take this in the spirit in which it was intended - as a longtime friend telling you when you're making an ass of yourself.

Given that I liked FFXII and Vagrant Story, plus Liberation Maiden, I'll probably give this a go. It looks interesting.

Create a release list in 5 steps:
1) Start with a list of all Genesis games.
2) Delete all titles found on "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" (No reruns!)
3) Delete all titles released for Wii VC (Ditto)
4) Delete all duplicate titles (that were basically the same on GEN and SNES)
5) That's your release list. Get to it.
