Re: Games Like Zelda - What To Play After You've Finished Breath Of The Wild

Fiskern

I feel like a lot of indie darlings tend to be a bit overhyped because people have lower expectations to smaller teams. So when I tried Hyper Light Drifter I didn't have high expectations. Howver, wehn I played it, I couldn't put it down. It just felt so good, is perfectly paced, good looking and an has interesting world building.

Re: Video Game YouTuber Dunkey Launches His Own Indie Publishing Company

Fiskern

@ZZalapski because Devolver reject them? Because this company might be a better fit for what they want to do? Because this company gives the creators more freedom?
There are tons of reasons of why developers choose publishers. This one is still unproven. But to say that just any developer can go get a publisher like Deveolver is pretty ignorant.

Re: Feature: The History Of Monolith Soft - From Baten Kaitos To Xenoblade And Zelda

Fiskern

@Octane what? Aonuma speaks about how Monolith helped them on different Zelda games. Earlier in the interview, he states that on one game they had help on the technical side, but on the other that he had help from level/world designers that had experience with creating large open areas. The latter part is the one I quoted. Nothing is implied, he says it outright.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Mario Strikers: Battle League

Fiskern

If the Strikers gameplay is as solid as it usually is, then I'll get it for sure. You know Nintendo will keep updating the content, but the amount varies a lot from game to game.
It's also interesting to see people comparing it to Smash Ultimate and MK8 that are basically ports of Wii U games with the DLC included, and more DLC added later.

Re: Nintendo Admits It Released A New Model Of The Switch To Fight Piracy

" Each of the three men named in the indictment faced 11 felony counts, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to circumvent technological measures and to traffic in circumvention devices, trafficking in circumvention devices, and conspiracy to commit money laundering." - Wikipedia

The last one there in particular is interesting.

Re: Feature: How The Quintessential Essence Of Pokémon Games Inspires Gen After Gen

Fiskern

One thing I miss, and that will most likely never recreated, was the mystical aura around Pokemon at the beginning. Game Freak hadn't yet figured out Pokemon, what it was, how the world works etc. and the anime, manga and games went into weird territory, exploring what it could be. At the same time people didn't have access to all the info instantly, there were myths about the games (Mew's truck, Pikablu). Now however, it seems as if they have established some kind of media guidelines behind the scenes, and will never directly depict Pokemon as food for instance, and the secrets of each game are on the internet within days of release, if not before people get their hands on them.

Re: Nintendo Of America Criticised Over Treatment Of Part-Time And Contract Workers

Fiskern

@QueenKittenWrite yes, they want fame. That's why most of them talk outwards anonymously. That makes sense, right?
Or maybe, hear me out, they just want the workplace to be better, but the only way they get heard is when the media brings it up.
But you're probably right. They want to be famous. That is the only reason why anyone ever create attention sounds something. Even anonymously.

Re: Nintendo Of America Named In Workers' Rights Complaint

Fiskern

My comment was removed because of unconstructive feedback. Well, it wasn't meant as feedback at all, so let me rephrase. We have next to no info on this case, and waaaaay too little to make a judgement on this case.

(I also said that it's good that labor issues are in the spotlight. However, I think articles with this little information simply water out the narrative)
