Approximately 60 million Pokémon games were shipped in the last financial year, according to the latest data found via the official Pokémon Company website.

As discovered by Serebii (thanks, VGC), The Pokémon Company has now sold over 440 million units of Pokémon related software. Previously, the website gave figures up to end of March 2021, quoting over 380 million units sold. The implication here, of course, is that at least 60 million units were sold over the course of FY2022.

In addition, the website states that a total of 43.2 billion cards for the Pokémon TCG have been produced in the same time period, signalling an increase of 9.1 billion compared to the previous year. It also states that the Pokémon animated TV shows have aired in a total of 192 different areas around the world.

While the numbers here are undoubtedly impressive, they're not entirely surprising given that The Pokémon Company enjoyed a record breaking financial year, delivering sales of 204 billion yen / US$1.6 billion and a net profit of 41 billion yen / US$320 million.

Looking ahead, November 18th sees the launch of the next major pair of games in the core video game series: Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A new trailer was recently showcased for the game, confirming the two legendaries alongside a plethora of other information.
