@Spedfrom Sure bro, the region that unironically mapped Jump to Up on the D-pad for decades, and used droplets of water as a favorite enemy, is an internationally well-known quality hotspot of game development. E: Also Poland and their game developers are unironically based but saying anything more than that would be a political discussion requiring nuance. I would imagine since you're the expert on the EU, you know that treating the body as a monolith is just as stupid as doing that with the US.
@Spedfrom Rockstar North is Scottish not English. Don't talk to me about not knowing things and then call Scots English. E: Also you didn't even list the Crysis games which are some of the best games to come from Europe lmao. Learn to take a joke.
@axelhander It was in the DF video. Best guess is because it was originally a Switch title. So yeah frankly a lot of my long term hopes for the Switch2 are riding on DLSS, but I'm waiting until N actually starts uses DLSS in their first-party titles, before giving it as a big plus to Switch2.
^ A frame drop to 40 would make it tournament illegal unless it's strictly in single-player.
@ButterySmooth30FPS I think it's bafflement and frankly an emotional reaction that a months-old console apparently has problems running a fighting game, with DLSS... no I'm not a developer but how about a 240p base upscaled to either 1080p or 720p depending on performance? Considering the admittedly less complex SF6 scales 540p -> 1080. Can Switch 2 really not handle that? Also apparently it's leaked a port is coming anyway so Harada might be trolling and baiting nerds like us.
@axelhander Google results are inconclusive but it seems that the Deck also uses FSR 3.1, a step down from the FSR 4 AMD is currently pushing with the improvements, with no word on a Deck implementation. All still hypothetical imo until more games on Switch2 have DLSS, because Bananza used FSR 1 for some reason.
@axelhander Fair, I forgot Steam Deck had FSR, in the past I thought DLSS > FSR pretty objectively quality-wise but I think sources have been saying FSR has been catching up. If someone does prefer DLSS that is a legitimate plus point though.
They're not in the same genre admittedly but I can think of old Xbox Live games like Monday Night Combat with way more characters with personality, deeper gameplay and a lot more color for 10 - 15 bucks at the time depending on your region's Microsoft Points conversion.
@MikeP It's still a fun game but I think myself and a lot of other FG fans are interested in a 3D game like Virtua Fighter without super anime Rage moves and stuff like that, focusing on movement and defensive options... it's not like VF is thuper therial or anything with the ninja that can jump ten meters high lol.
Graphics look awful but if the gameplay is as interesting as you say and it's faithful to the source material I may well give it a look-in. I'm not even that into TMNT but the artstyle reminds me of the 2003 series, quite cool.
@Zeebor15 Yeah, I think we both know what it feels like to be a fan of a frankly shaky company that could blow over any minute to El Nino, or as Chris Farley would call it... The Nino!! But eh gotta live in the moment and I've been having more fun with SEGA's stuff than in a long while, imagine you feel the same about Atari, it's about the games and having decently passionate people at the helm. Got some Sonic playing cards at the mall, I'm saving them to open with a friend but I'm glad "Sonic's sh*tty friends", as they were always called, are back XD And while I've never played his games I think Bubsy's design is actually pretty awesome. I do really like cats though.
@dew12333 I appreciate the response and hope I wasn't too harsh. I do understand the issue is more complicated than I and some other people might make it sound, not even just from N's pressure but their solicitors and stockholders. At the end of the day though, it's an emotional reaction, but I'll always stand up for fan artists, perhaps because my father was an amateur artist, who often traced from album covers at the time but only as a collage of a greater whole. The Internet didn't exist back then, but if it did, I imagine he would've posted it online, and I would hope the feedback would've allowed him to properly improve as an artist, instead of being pulled down for copyright infringement. I personally think, especially in the modern AI world, it's more important than ever for actual artists to learn from each other, which often objectively includes tracing. But that's all my opinion of course.
Anyway, the outcome here seems to be the best for all involved. The Pokemon gets a cool new pose and official artwork without infringing on the original fan art, all is good by me
@martynstuff I don't even think it's legit but the article literally pointed out an example in 2020 of an "aaaaaaa" account actually being an official Mario anniversary account, just going incognito temporarily. What me and other people are wary of are people parking the accounts of every 5-year anniversary afterwards to troll, I personally think an actual N account would go for something way more arcane than just a bunch of "a"s again.
@ShonenJump121 Great thanks, I like to ask around and find indie artists who actually draw, to support with at least likes and comments.
Er, the trails behind the wheels also look like a cheap effect for the cars no one would buy in Fortnite... okay I'm done crapping on the game and legit hope it finds an audience I'm just trying to keep the comments semi-related XD
@Coalescence I personally don't see the reason to be cynical about this move... if anything the thing I'm most cynical about is that the ISEA does not have a branch in every state according to their website, not their fault but the fault of the missing states. Young people on this website, who don't have a branch: get off your butt and make playing games an extracurricular activity for college credit! XD
@Zeebor15 Ah I understand, as someone who doesn't hold SEGA stock but knows they could make Morbillion dollars by releasing a new OutRun, the autistic obsession with companies we're interested in!
I do like the new output of Nick games, and would have been one the maybe five kids at the perfect intersection of Sonic and (good seasons) SpongeBob fandoms like in the upcoming Sonic racer, so Wade and his bro must be doing something right!
Just pointing out the "awards" at the end of the match gave someone an award for giving the most high-five emotes. Straight up a participation trophy lol.
@ShonenJump121 It's annoying there's no way to PM but source on that PFP art of Samus pls? Looks cool.
@solarwolf07 I don't think gaming tournaments had enough broken bones, cheerleader routines for creepy dads and underage drinking to interest my school system. Well okay indie Smash tourneys do tend to involve the last one disturbingly often but hopefully not these officially-sanctioned ones!
@HeadPirate As someone who worked in large-scale retail during the absolute height of the card-collecting trend during COVID, we implemented a limit on the amount of packs you could purchase not to save card for little kids or something saccharine like that, but to prevent mad rushes over pieces of cardboard at a time when we were already dealing with organizations and hoarders buying excessive amounts of product. The same reason we implemented a limit on paper towels, it wasn't to save paper towels for the people or something ridiculous (that was just the lie we told customers who got p*ssy about it to shut them up), it was to prevent the cashiers from having to ring up a hundred rolls of toilet paper, along with products with loopholes to circumvent purchase limits, like soda where you can just buy different brands.
McDonald's cashiers and workers don't need to be slammed more than they already are by food-wasting scalping a-holes. Your stance is basically advocating for the same heartless capitalism you seem to be against, just because scalpers exist at the same time as mega-CEOs. People can be concerned about more than one thing.
So in 2025 my highschool friends' clandestine Smash tournaments in empty classrooms during school rallies and crap like that could actually be officially endorsed and maybe even get us some extracurricular points? Damn kids nowadays have some perks.
@ParsnipHero It was a very mask off moment that after years and years of strenuously denying artificial scarcity was part of their strategy, they just outright embraced it, not even as part of a proper long tail strategy because the product isn't offered for sale anymore. Also impossible to play the officially translated version of Fire Emblem on NES now which I would 100% buy if possible.
@Zeebor15 Speaking of questions I'm not prepared to handle the answers for do you work for Atari or something or are you just super passionate about them, you seem to know a crapton about them (as someone who also makes long posts about obscure topics I understand 100% XD). Like who is "Wade". Personally speaking the coolest thing about their return is that the Atari billboards in Blade Runner aren't as dated as the Pan Am signs anymore lol.
@RupeeClock I'm not making an account to check but I bet literally ever major Mario anniversary for at least a hundred years is taken. Now I have the mental image of someone passing down their "X" account to their son, "do me proud son, troll them super hard on the 100th anniversary it'll be epic".
Man it's sad that youngins will play this game instead of, y'know, starting an actual campfire. No way N would have sanctioned this game if it was just aimed at the incredibly narrow "long-distance friends/family" market. Sad thing is I can't even blame em practically speaking, COVID really did break the brains of multiple generations. And I guess it could prevent a forest fire or two... meh...
@ChromaticDracula Tough to be noticed in a sea of crap like N-sanctioned "Chillin' by the Fire"? I basically agree with @ShieldHero except for AI "games" and to play devil's advocate we have no actual proof AI was involved in this game's creation.
Was going to say this account is ran by some weirdo who will post inflation "art" when this arbitrary deadline comes up, but I'll admit the fact they follow Nintendo JP and haven't been "dealt with" by N Ninjas yet is interesting. Still the probable explanation is that N's social media haven't noticed and don't care about Internet geek speculation.
E: At this point Twitter accounts of dead politicians have been resurrected and re-used by incredibly weird people... Twitter is so f'ing stupid
I personally don't think Gradius is a popular enough series to break it up like this, especially considering me and many others already bought the individual M2 version of many of these titles. They should have just made one big collection. I would have bought it if it had Gradius V.
