On top of any Metroid Prime 4 news, they’d need something to maintain at least some momentum on the Metroid front. Metroid Prime Trilogy or Metroid Samus Returns on Switch would be very welcome, but at least give us that Samus skin that was rumoured in Fortnite or something.
@60frames-please Unfortunately I don’t expect 60fps here; however, based on the first game, a stable 30fps should be quite doable and is fine for this type of game. Still, would be a nice surprise if they could manage 60fps with a good resolution!
Just for a second there, I thought I read “Eurovision” (as in the song contest) instead of “Euro”and now that I think about it that would be an even harder challenge
Love the Devolver Digital presentations and the sort-of cinematic universe (Devolverse?) they’ve created. I was especially amused when Nina Struthers turned up during the PS5 “Future of Gaming” video alongside the other companies’ actual representatives, in that “Welcome to PS5” segment - I think it went over most people’s heads!
This was recently included in Sony’s Play At Home selection of free games on PS4, where I’ve played it for several hours. I like it very much so far! On PS4 this was ported with the help of Panic Button; is this also the case for Switch? Just curious.
I played the previous beta and I honestly liked it, or at least I liked it more than the sort-of compareable Ninjala. I especially loved that it includes a 60fps “performance” mode (like e.g. Rocket League) that plays great! The biggest and dumbest issue I had was that I could NOT get my son to play on his child account, as the game requires an EA account which cannot be linked to a child Nintendo account (my son can’t play FIFA online for the same reason). In other words, shooter Fortnite is fine to play on a Nintendo child account, but for footy FIFA and toss-the-ball Knockout City... user must be 18+. Thanks, microtransactions!
PS: On a side note, character creation in Knockout City is atrocious: I could not get any “female” character to look like anything remotely resembling a girl.
I liked the demo enough to pick up the game, but I ended up getting a physical PS4 version that was on a pretty good sale. Still, the Switch version seems to include everything and look pretty decent despite the downgrades, which deserves recognition. It helps I also like the setting and story - including the humour, though I admit some of it really is cringy (Hermes is especially annoying). FYI some of the jokes land much better if you’re familiar with Greek mythology, while some of the meta-humour is also on point, including some comments from Zeus in the quest descriptions.
I will agree that Blasphemous is sort of an acquired taste, mostly due to the sometimes disturbing art direction and subject matter, but speaking for myself, this is one of the better games of its genre. Besides the usual upgrades and respective gated exploration, this features a robust combat system that requires skill to master, some pretty tough bosses and great pixel art throughout.
I’d be interested to get this if it includes the full game as of now on the card (i.e. the released patches and expansion).
“To commemorate this significant milestone for our company, here are some extra coffee cups, some sugar packs (of the uncommon brown variety), some paper napkins, and some one-use straws!”
@AJDarkstar Agreed. I have R-Type Final on PS2 but thanks to Sony’s lack of backwards compatibility it’s stuck there. I’d actually love a trilogy of R-Type Delta and the two Final titles.
So he’s saying (in so many words) that developers would stick to minimum effort and not support the higher-spec variant. Sure, they can do that, but I’d say the users and, more importantly, the publishers would appreciate the harder-working developers more.
Kudos for including Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder, one of my all-time favourite arcade games which has never seen an official release on anything else until 2020, and then only on the Arcade1UP and Astro City Mini stand-alones which I cannot reasonably attain. A Switch version would really be welcome!
@TheFullAndy True, but I think everyone by know has realized the truth even if they won’t admit it - Folders aren’t possible on the current Switch; they will be considered for the Switch Pro.
I will never view cloud-based games as anything but a workaround, and I am not going to pay full price for a workaround, especially one that a) has additional prerequisites, and b) is temporary by definition.
Yeah... sorry but I just can’t get over how stupid the new title is. “Fenyx” is just wrong; it’s what a stubborn kid with no imagination would use as their character name in a MMOG after seeing that “Phoenix”, “Phenix”, and “Fenix” (and a bunch of others) are taken.
I pre-ordered this as I like the idea. The video of the game looks somewhat weird as it seems the game isn’t running at native resolution, so I am hoping there are options to fix this (like the 1:1 option on the Switch NES/SNES apps).

As much as I love Stardew Valley and as good as these editions look, I am still not ready to trust Fangamer after they bungled the Hollow Knight physical release. For those who may not know about this, Fangamer claimed all DLC was on the cart, but actually shipped an earlier version of the game “by mistake”, which means you need to download the last DLC for the game. They apparently owned up and replaced US carts, but not European ones: they basically told me “sorry for the inconvenience”. They did release an updated European version with all DLC, but my local stores never got it and I don’t really want to risk ordering online and getting the old one again.
@Grandiajet Glad to know there’s at least 1 more person who likes Beach Spikers; everyone I have ever shown or mentioned the game to had never heard of it before! A HD port would be amazing, especially considering how few volleyball games are there in general.
@60frames-please “ In Vigor players are tasked with traversing various maps located in and around a post-apocalyptic slice of Norway [...]”
