Re: Rumour: Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Character Leaks Reportedly Surface

@Anti-Matter I think the point is that it may diminish the brand in your opinion for you as an individual but that may not be the case for others or the majority.

Unfortunately not everything in life can cater to all tastes and likes but as with everything, there is no problem with what people like and don't like. That's choice and freewill.

Edit .... I think Anti Matter blocked me a while ago so these replies probably fall on deaf ears.

Re: Sega Says It Will Stop The New Virtua Fighter Project If It's Not "Good Enough"

@Medic_alert that's exactly me. Xenoblade, Zelda etc physical because those are the games I'll look back on fondly in 20 years time. Others I might not want to go back to or won't have the strong memories associated to them.

In 20 years, I expect most of the games from today that I want to revisit will be available in some shape or form.

If I played every single game since I started in the 80s, I would have to be a millionaire as I wouldn't have time for work or anything else in life. I'd wager of all of the games, only about 10% I go back to.

SW gen I was 80/20 physical but I think with SW2 it will be the other way around and that's fine 👍😎🎮

@Medic_alert Demo discs were good. Particularly back in the C64 days of full games on a cassette. I decided many a purchase on PS1 and PS2 after playing a demo disc.

Don't get me wrong, I have the odd nostalgia related physical edition but I've been gradually moving away from physical for a few years. All of my Switch cartridges end up in a cart case so the boxes rarely get looked at.

I've been managing downloads and storage on a PC for years but when installed, it's like having a gaming jukebox at your fingertips.

Re: Rumour: Iconic Studio Codemasters May Soon Close For Good

It's a shame that many greats from the Spectrum, C64 and Amiga days do not get more compilations.

I have the C64 Maxi, The Spectrum and patiently waiting for the A1200 Maxi ...... Didn't get the A500 mini as I wanted a working keyboard, system etc.

Wouldn't mind a Codemasters classics compilation on Switch though.

Re: UK Retailer GAME Cancels A Bunch Of Nintendo Switch 2 Pre-Orders

Duncanballs

When I was a manager at Gamestation, for the PSP launch a few stores were lite on stock for pre orders. A number of us spent the day driving around the region grabbing excess stock at other stores to make sure we fulfilled pre orders and didn't let anyone down.

I couldn't get one for one of our loyal customers so went and reserved one at Argos for him.

We were all gamers who cared about gamers.

Head office encouraged us to look after customers.

Game killed the brand and thankfully I left before the takeover.

Can't wait for the GC collection to expand. Was playing some GC games yesterday on the big screen. Looking forward to GC on the go.

Wishlist ....... Double Dash, Mario Tennis and Golf, Rogue Leader 2, Viewtiful Joe, Time Splitters, Skies of Arcadia plus many more.

Owned every Nintendo home console including the Virtual Boy. GC is in my top 3 with the Switch and SNES. GBA for top handheld, hands down 👍

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (24th May)

Duncanballs

Killing time until SW2 so not starting anything new. Probably some time this weekend on NSO, SNES and Megadrive minis.

Fixed my daughter's black screen of death 2DS XL. It had been bricked for 6 months or so.
Removed the battery and reinserted and bingo. She's happy and playing Tomodachi Life and Nintendogs again.

@Michael0916 they are a huge step away from a big box, a manual, a map etc. Empty plastic shells with legalise pamphlets.

"Said publisher will not be responsible in anyway if you decide to eat the media contained within. Said publisher also does not endorse eating of such media. Said publisher hopes you will enjoy but will not be responsible for game rage and broken TVs. Please do not sue."

@OldGamer999 ditto. I've gone with the flow and just moved on. Getting older. Don't want to be surrounded by tonnes of stuff I can't take with me.

Appetite for Destruction and many others .... Vinyl copy, cassette copy, Cd copy. I was quite glad when MP3s became a thing!

Absolutely no problem with people who prefer physical I'm just less interested in "stuff" as I get older.

@Misima A tad extreme don't you think. I am not going to change the industry. No one is apart from the publishers and manufacturers.

I'm not going to miss out on games I want to play. I've lived through betamax/VHS to DVD. Cassette to CD. Magazines to websites. Physical to digital.

I'm still here, still enjoying gaming.

"proud about destroying the game playing environment."

Seriously? I'm proud of who I am as a person, my family, my values and how I treat others. Gaming is a past time. Get some perspective.

One of the most entitled and self centered comments I have ever had in reply.
