Krispy Kreme is where you go to spend a surprising amount of money on doughnuts that, against all odds, are often tasty enough to be worth the price. It's the home of extravagant treats, including some that are themed to promote your favourite gaming things, now including Pokémon.
As you can see in the image above, this dozen box set is cheating a bit as it only has five designs and six actual Pokémon-themed treats, the rest being standard glazed doughnuts. It's also only in Australia right now, so that stings.
- Poke Ball – Original Glazed
- Pikachu – Chocolate creme + dipped in white truffle
- Bulbasaur – Green apple icing, sand sugar + a creme swirl
- Charmander – Vanilla custard + dipped in white truffle
- Squirtle – Strawberry filled + dipped in white chocolate
As is the norm for themed packs they'll only be available for a limited time, so if you're in Australia and have $29.95 burning a hole in your pocket be sure to check out the official website.
Would you be keen to capture one of these doughnut sets?

I'm not a donut guy but I'd love to try these.
Really should've tossed in one like Brock's though for the lolz.
Here in Indonesia, i see this Pokemon Donuts by Mister Donut everyday from Indomaret.

This is on the same level as a homemade cupcake kit though.
It's just a printed icing graphic on an otherwise tasty desert.
Just so we're all clear...that's $30 for a dozen doughnuts.
....
@BadWaluigi
Just so we're clearer, that's 30 Australian dollars.
By today's exchange rates, that's about 22 US dollars or 16 British pounds.
Krispy Kreme is expensive but that's somewhat consistent with local prices.
@RupeeClock oh ok so about $2 per doughnut what a steal 🙄 half of them are plain 🤣👍
It's almost tempting, but there is no option for a complete Pokémon dozen.
I'm not keen on having to buying six plains, especially for the asking price, which should bloody well include 12 Pokémon/filled doughnuts for AU$30 (I'm pretty sure you can normally buy a dozen of mixed/filled doughnuts for that price).
It's not like they're using top-quality ingredients here either.
Krispy Kreme SUCKS!
@BadWaluigi,
Love the plain ones the best...
yoooo my favourite pokemon plain iced ring donut
Wow, the default dozen is in fact a very devious rip-off. You can choose the "pick your own dozen" option and have an all Pokémon dozen for the same price (AU$29.95).
@Anti-Matter yumyum yum
I honestly can't remember the last time I ate a donut but those look amazing.
@ThomasBW84 That first paragraph is a perfect description of Krispy Kreme Doughnut!
It‘s a shame you only get Krispy Kreme in the UK and Australia, they should be available all over Europe. Original glaze is the best donut I ever ate.

Dunkin' Donuts is so much better!
@Anti-Matter wow I miss Mr Doughnut. Out here in the USA we have Sublime Cupcakes which are wonderful.
@ManInTheChair : Sure. One person per household per day can leave the house for "essential goods and services", such as essential doughnuts, essential cigarettes, and let's not forget essential booze. I wish I was being sarcastic.
And if you are from a "local government area of concern" you are not to travel further than 5km (3.1 miles) of your home at the risk of severe penalties.
You must also not remove your mask when outdoors unless eating, drinking, or smoking.
Can you also believe that liquor stores are considered "essential businesses" in this Godforsaken country of ours?
I'll take a local grocery store's bakery donuts and the local Daylight Donuts (Yes, it's a chain) over Krispy Kreme, but I won't deny I'm still mildly jealous of Australia right now. Normally that spot is reserved for Japan lol.
Bulbasaur sounds amazing! Bring these to the rest of the world!!
Maybe the 6 glazed ones are Ditto themed.
@Silly_G I questioned the liquor stores being considered essential at first when we had that here. I can't remember where I read it though, but there was a pretty convincing argument for it somewhere. Kind of a 'lesser of two evils' situation basically. Not wanting to get too heavy on a Pokemon doughnut article but people have addictions, especially to alcohol. The ramifications of people having to suddenly go cold turkey on an addiction, on top of all the stress and drama of the rest of the pandemic situation, is potentially far more dangerous and draining of the emergency services. They can become a severe risk to themselves and others, far more so than putting on a mask, sanitising your hands and popping to the shop.
@Duffman92 get them in Ireland now too. The Xbox donuts were delicious.
The doughnuts look really clean in the images above, but I wonder if they will look like that in-store, or when shipped to your house. I have had bad experiences in the past with that, even with notably big name companies.
Had them today! They were really tasty and the plate in the middle was like chocolate! @Dpullam they did come looking like the picture too, they were really clean! I really liked the Pikachu one. I got them delivered so did not even have to leave my house for this essential item!
@Aussiephoenix83 Nice! Thank you for that response! Now if they come to North America, I can try them for myself.
These look and sound amazing.
I normally like a strong flavor with my sweets, but Krispy Kreme is too sweet even for me. It's like you can physically feel yourself begin to develop diabetes when you eat one of their doughnuts. There are much better doughnut chains out there.
@BadWaluigi At that price, you'd think they'd at least give you a baker's dozen.
I wonder if anyone has already stuck some in the freezer hoping to auction them off in thirty years. Talk about freezer burn. Ouch!
As I understand, Krispy Kreme had quite a history in the southern part of the US.
But, if we're talking about 20 years of the GameCube, that was also the same year that Krispy Kreme had its short moment of popularity in the northern US (or at least around me). It was like, big for a few months then just seemed to have disappeared entirely by the next year.
How coincidental.
@Anti-Matter I was talking about Krispy Kreme being a brand I haven't seen.
Now, Mister Dount I am shocked to see got big and continues to sell in Japan despite that its American parent company has been deceased since I was a child, decades ago.
I don't think they are the only US company to be succeeded by its Japanese offshoot. Isn't Yahoo! pretty much that as well now?
@KingMike
Here in Indonesia there are some Donuts Shop that still open their business such as J.Co Donut, Mister Donut, Dunkin' Donuts.
I dunno about Yahoo!
@BulbasaurusRex : Yeah, I know the feeling. I don't know what it is about those Krispy Kremes, but I can usually only bear to have two at any give time (though I haven't had them in a while now).
Unfortunately, there is a history of diabetes in my family, and I can feel it in my veins when I have consumed a little too much sugar for comfort, so I have made a conscious effort in more recent years to minimise my sugar intake. I also have a young cousin who collapsed and was diagnosed with diabetes (when he was about eight or so) for which he has since taken daily insulin injections, I believe. He was quite a skinny little guy too (he should be 21 now) for those under the misapprehension that diabetes is a "fatty's" disease.
@Anti-Matter @KingMike I always thought Mister Donut was a local brand here in the Philippines. I'm surprised to know that it's a US brand originally. Their brand has always been strong here even when J.Co and Krispy Kreme entered the market. I think that's because their price point is more accessible which is why I assumed it was a local brand. Love those Pokemon designs. Sadly they don't have it here.
@Anti-Matter
I was gonna say! I love Mister Donut and I hope they come to the UK one day (gotta get me more of those pon-de rings!)
The Krispy Kreme ones are a bit too over-the-top sweet for me.
I like Krispy Kreme, just can't eat more than one donut before the sweetness overpowers.
Tried Krispy Kreme before, it wasn’t anything special. I’d rather eat at my locally owned donut shop than spend almost 30$ on these. Doesn’t help that I’ve never really been into Pokémon to begin with.
So cannibalism of Pokémon is happening now-need to get PITA involved or else they will go extinct.
Australia only?? Aw, crikey!
@Silly_G Isn't Type 1 Diabetes a genetic variation, anyway?
Meanwhile, Type 2 Diabetes is only considered a fatty's disease since those who eat so much sugar as to develop it (among other factors) naturally tend to be overweight or obese, although there can still be exceptions.
So many haters on here because they can’t get them. I love these. Ive bought two sets already. The Pikachu donut is the best! Will buy another set next wk. Get over yourselves guys.
it would have been funny if they were like those little pastries you can feed your pokemon in omega ruby and alpha sapphire but it's still pretty cool!
