Re: Pokémon Unite Is Discontinuing Aeos Coins In Its December Game Update

DreamJackal

Wow, that’s a pretty surprising announcement! Aeos Coins have been around since the very start, so it’s hard to say whether this will end up being a good or bad change.

My first thought is that it might be worse, mainly because it takes away the freedom we had to choose which Pokémon Licenses to unlock with Aeos Coins. Coins we earned after each match and could spend however we wanted. With this new system, it sounds like progression will be tied to a limited track that only moves forward through certain activities, like battle pass milestones, rather than consistent match rewards.

Guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out.

Re: Talking Point: Smashing Switch 2 Numbers Prove Nintendo's Strategy Is Super Effective

DreamJackal

@bosh In my city, most people seem to have a Switch 2. I see people on them at my local eateries my friends and I go to every weekend (there has been maybe four weekends in this entire year where I did not see someone with one in public).

In my household, me and my friends all have Switch 2's that we play on a near daily basis too.

Hell, I thought I'd never use GameChat for example but literally played through all of Legends Z-A with a distant friend via only GameChat and it was a very surprisingly good time! We even did some co-op Nintendo Classics games, (their emulated games). It was nice having that option after they had moved out of state for a better job opportunity and living situation.

Well played, Nintendo.

Re: Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment In-Store Demos Now Available (North America)

DreamJackal

@MegaVel91 Agreed. DLC doesn’t mean the original game was missing anything, it just adds more to it. A game can be full and finished even if it later gets extra content because the additional content is usually optional and not necessary to complete a game.

It's possible the person who argued against this is actually referring to how some early access games operate, I think. But that's not Nintendo.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

DreamJackal

Pre-ordered with a group of friends! We're so ready to get on GameChat or on the couch and do some real-time Pokémon battles, woot woot! ♥ Like we did with Scarlet and Violet!

I loved Lumiose City on the 3DS so I'm interested to see the new spin on it here on the Switch 2!

Re: Poll: So, Did You Get Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2 For Switch?

DreamJackal

I'm tempted to get the Galaxy games since I did not get the originals, especially since they seem well done and I enjoy anything space related!

We'll see after my time in DK Bananza, MKW, and potentially the upcoming Pokémon Legends Z-A! But I'm actually more excited for the new Hyrule Warriors and Duskbloods.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Gets A 6-Minute Overview Trailer For Switch 2

DreamJackal

I remain cautiously optimistic for this game! I'll probably wait to see how it plays and what reviews say in the few weeks following its release before I decide to pick it up myself, just to make sure it'll be a truly fun time before I invest in it. But I'm already really wanting to play for the new battle mechanics alone and hopefully in-depth city exploration!

Re: Switch 2 Gets Its Flowers At The Japan Game Awards 2025

DreamJackal

Well-deserved! It's a great piece of technology for it's price point and I'm not surprised they didn't get the award.

Nintendo still remembers that their toy-like hardware being just as fun and interactable as the first-party/in-house games they make is what makes them unique and standout, good job on them!
(The people's personal opinions on the console/games not withstanding).

Re: Former PlayStation Head Praises Nintendo For Being "In Touch With Their Fan Base"

DreamJackal

Nintendo is definitely much more in touch with their fanbase than PlayStation or Xbox. They're not perfect (no company can be), but still miles better than all of their competitors. The quality of their games speak for themselves, it's very commendable how consistent their game quality is, as well as being able to retain and grow their developers and their expertise for decades now.

Generally unlike Nintendo, way too many gaming companies have lost sight of the thing that should matter most to their fans, if they even cared to begin with: the games themselves.

Re: Poll: How Many Hours Have You Spent In Mario Kart World So Far?

DreamJackal

50+ hours and most of my time is in both Free Roam and Online Races recently. Knockout Tour and Race modes are fantastic still online, and I really enjoy doing the Free Roam alone and with my besties that live with me. Most of my Mario Kart days are usually spent offline with friends on the couch instead of online usually.

We plan on playing this game on and off for years to come just like with Mario Kart 8 so we're in no rush to get EVERY sticker and outfit, we'll get them as we play! Many of the outfits are all sooo cute and full of personality!

Overall, a 9 or 10 rating from me, it's the most fun Mario Kart game we've played to date, especially since one of us is a big Tony Hawk Pro Skater fan so they're really into the tricking mechanics when we do Free Roam, lol. The cross-country racing vibe is a different take and I'm loving it so far!

Re: Video: Switch 2's GameCube Emulation Apparently Has Underlying Issues Nintendo "Desperately Needs To Fix"

DreamJackal

I haven’t run into any issues with this myself and I've been having a blast! I'm sure the issues are there though. And let’s be real, most people are just going to kick back and enjoy it casually.

For the die-hard purists out there, I doubt they'd even touch the Switch 2 for this. They’re probably still rocking the original consoles, and more power to them!

Re: Japanese Charts: Switch 2 Won't Slow Down, Surpasses 1 Million Consoles Sold

DreamJackal

@Arawn93 Well said, I definitely prefer my games to be fun, well-designed, and optimized. Hence my choice in hardware and gaming with Nintendo vs other consoles.

I do LOVE my Gaming PC but it serves a very different purpose than my Switch 2, so comparing the two hardware-wise is not a fair thing to do when there's so much more going on than just hardware alone.

Re: Video: 10 GameCube Games We Want On Switch 2's Online Expansion Pack

DreamJackal

Omg yes, it's been far too long since we've seen a Star Fox game! If we can't get a new one anytime soon, then I hope we at least get the older ones returned to us on their virtual console libraries like GameCube.

Would love to see some other nostalgic games like the Viewtiful Joe series, Wave Race, Eternal Darkness, Gauntlet Dark Legacy, etc. So many fun games on the previous gens!

Re: PSA: You Can Use Mouse Controls On The Switch 2 HOME Menu

DreamJackal

@Lizuka As a PC and Nintendo gamer, I would absolutely find many use cases for it but it ultimately depends on if you play the games that would benefit from something like a mouse mode.

I could see myself using it for Splatoon, Fortnite (FPS games in general), point-and-click adventures, general menu navigation I guess, etc.

Not a feature you HAVE to use but nonetheless will be used more than more gimmicky features introduced in previous Nintendo console iterations. Because mice are generally very useful for accuracy and navigation in a lot of games of today, (if you're used to using a mouse already, it'll be very familiar). Don't like mouse mode? It instantly goes back into controller mode anyway, so it's honestly not a big deal either way.

Re: Pokémon GO Doubling Amount Of Daily Remote Raids Has Nothing To Do With New Owners

DreamJackal

Idk if people want to buy double the remote raid passes unless they were giving some out for free or something.

How active is the playerbase in POGO now adays anyway? My friends and I dropped it a couple or so years ago, it's hard to imagine that many people are still getting out there and playing in mass groups. I thought they would've went more remote by now like Monster Hunter Now or Pikmin Bloom.

Re: Nintendo Comments On Mario Kart World's Controversial Price

DreamJackal

Honestly, it's all priced fairly for what it is. People pay more for current gen Xbox and Playstation consoles, their games with their varying degree of deluxe and ultimate editions, various subscriptions, and paid games with microtransactions. Nintendo offers not only a cheaper console comparably, but one-time purchasable games with no in-game purchases. Especially if you have friends and family to do the new Virtual Card and Game Sharing features with, rendering additional purchases unnecessary if someone can just borrow games from you or vice versa.

People are more upset about the upfront cost going up versus the small (seemingly more affordable) transactions they make on a weekly or monthly basis that ultimately costs more in the long run than a Nintendo Switch 2 and any of its games.

With variable prices in mind, it sounds like not every game will be $80 too. With the state of the world, and the launch date being far enough away from the holidays to save up for it, these are fair and accurate prices.
