It's time to move aside, Absolutely Ridable Lapras, because a new super-sized Poké plush is (very slowly) rolling into town.
Japan's Pokémon Center is finally giving us the product we deserve by launching this incredible, life-sized Slowpoke later this year. It's 150cm long (so around 5 feet), 65cm tall, and 75cm wide, but most importantly it's a cuddly vessel of happiness. Imagine being this lucky woman giving Slowpoke's soft mouth podge a good squeeze.

They're actually made to order, and orders are being taken for the rest of the month (so long as you have a Japanese address to send it to); from there, shipping will begin in November. As for the cost? Well, it'll set you back a whopping 49,500 yen (around $450 / £318).
For some reason, the product listing says that Slowpoke has a target age of 15 years or older. We're not sure why, or what you'll do with that information, but there you are.
We think it's time to sit back, enjoy some Slowpoke reggae, and dream of having this delightful beast in our home.

Slowpoke is much larger than expected.
That's a life size Slowpoke???

According to the Pokédex Slowpoke is only 1.2m long.
However, I do want a lifesize Wailord plush.
Age 15+ because of choking hazard
@LameUsername I don't think these large and expensive plushies are meant to be big hits and more something for the few who can afford it and have room for it. They've done a few of these large pokémon plushies before so clearly there's enough of a market for them to continue doing them.
I would be so tempted if this were a Slowking...
@Xiovanni : I demand a life-size Jynx posthaste! Rawr!
That seems way too big?
Life size Pokémon plushes are pretty common in Japan ... so are life sized versions of other popular IPs. I have a Psyduck and it love it more then most members of my family.
They generally run you back about 50,000 to 100,000 yen ($500-$1000 USD) but that's nothing ... life sized moulded figures are also a pretty common thing, but expect to pay at least a million yen ($10,000) for the LEAST popular ones, and upwards of 3 times that for anything really neat.
One interesting point ... Despite being able to get a life sized versions of anything from Furret to Exeggutor, you can't get a "life sized" Pikachu. The biggest you can get is 1:1 scale. Nintendo treats Pikachu like it's real; it doesn't like "inaccurate" presentations in any Media. There are a few museums that have Pikachu skeletons, completely with Pokedex entry, in their natural history section.
@Manjushri Being on set amongst others for a photo shoot, covid, Japan is behind on vaccines, Japanese also are far more considerate to others, unlike in the west, face coverings are common there regardless, etc...
None of this scene is surprising.
Face masks are more about protecting the people around you. I'm glad she is considerate to slowpoke's health. Most pokémon lack the dexterity to wear a face mask correctly
I can only imagine what a life-sized Snorlax or Lapras would cost.
Yep, I would get it, if it was a snorlax, I would definitely get it hehe

Here you go
@PhhhCough my god! I don’t know what is more impressive, the actual doll or the prize. Still, looks pretty cool.
