Re: One Of Pokémon's Largest Fan Communities Bans Dynamaxing In Competitive Matches

Dog

We have a lot of upset Smogonites here.

@-Juice- "Smog on vans certain things in order to make the meta more strategic and less chance based."

The battle system is already heavily luck-based as it is, why not ban all luck-based moves if that's what they're aiming for? The critics were right, Smogon is very illogical at times with their approach.

Re: US Importer Arrested For Manufacturing Counterfeit Mario And Pokémon Toys

@RandomNerds Profit or not, it's still infringing on Nintendo's intellectual properties and the company is right to take action against unauthorized products. Dew is right. It's a double standard to agree with Nintendo when it comes to counterfeit products yet justify certain fan games on the basis of monetary motivation or the lack of it.

Re: Pokémon's Team Rocket Is Back With Its Best Intro Yet

@Floof_Cat Don't make a fool of yourself, the animation studio cut corners in the animation change. It also doesn't change the fact that even with Ash's win they still intend to keep him forever so as they make the Pokémon anime first and foremost an advertisement for the latest gen games before a proper TV show.

Can we just let the anime just end already?

Re: Dragalia Lost Generated $106 Million In Player Spending In First Year

It's such a shame that consumers rejected the straightforward, honest pricing model of Mario Run and accepted the horrid gacha mechanics from the likes of Fire Emblem Warriors. It's this very reason that led to hard cashgrabs like Pokémon Masters and Mario Kart Tour--people allowed this to happen.

Re: Metacritic Review-Bombers Strike Again With FIFA 20 On Switch

Dog

Wow, talk about the double standards from the people who say this isn't review bombing.

Here's the definition of review bombing, per Wikipedia: "A review bomb is an Internet phenomenon in which large groups of people leave negative user reviews online in an attempt to harm the sales and/or popularity of a product, particularly to draw attention to an issue with the product or its vendor."

FIFA 20 on Switch was clearly review bombed, whether you think the game deserved it or not.

Re: World Exclusive Pokémon Announcement To Reportedly Air In Next Anime Episode

@Angelic_Lapras_King

  • Yes, the Pokémon anime is used to sell the games and other products. But no, that does not excuse it from being a piece a crap. Being a quality show while desiring to sell products are not mutually exclusive. But the Pokémon anime doesn't seem to get that.
  • If Pokémon is never going to end, then they shouldn't have given it the direction it did. Ash is explicitly stated to have a goal, it should be expected that they work with that, yet they're not. The other shows, AFAIK, do not seek to mislead their audience into thinking their protagonists are getting somewhere.
  • If the premise of the show is to have Ash go on a journey to become a Pokémon Master, and the writers have no intention of doing that, instead wanting the show to run forever, then they need to be called out for it. Bad writing and direction should not be enjoyed nor rewarded.
  • I have not watched the anime since the awful X/Y ending, but I will continue to criticize the hacks that run the show.

I seriously hope that today's announcement is actually going to end Ash's cycle of failure. But the cynic in me thinks this will be a spinoff series akin to Origins and Generations.

@Cotillion People like you were the reason why neither Zelda got in. How does that feel that the games got enough negative scores to prevent it from being in the Top 50?
