@AngelFox Well, if the guy that made 90's Arcade Racer had gone with a reputable publisher, it would've been out years ago, and on the originally intended platforms.
This is where Nintendo really messed up with NST, they were the team that last worked on Wave Race and 1080. Without NST on full development duties, we'll never see them again as those 2 games as they weren't NoJ games. It's just a shame that NoJ won't give up any kind of control and allow NoE and NoA/NST to publish their own games, or even work on franchises that are no longer in current rotation.
I'm glad to see devs put effort into porting their tools onto the Switch. I'm not sure if they licence it out to other devs, but atleast it gives them something they're familiar with to work on bringing games to the Switch.
Rocket League on Steam will continue to be supported by Psyonix with updates, but it will eventually stop being sold on there.
The backlash Psyonix has been recieving so far is quite a thing to see. And to be honest, I'm not supprised, especially as people have mentioned that the Epic store has far less features and contains spyware.
For themost part, I don't think the majority will care about the take over, but for the minority it's a huge deal, and I think that with Epic's record, it's hardly suprising that people are mad about it.
@mist there are some common cosmetics that you unlock as you play through the game, but these are all the same stuff that everyone gets. Then you can get random drops after each time you rank up your XP meter, these include aerials, hats, banners, decals, wheels, boosts and paint styles. In the garage, you can trade up the random drops, 5 of one tier will give you 1 of the next.
This is where you can make the game pay for it's self. Using the trade up system in the garage, when you get to the point where you can trade up to painted versions of cars or wheels, if you get any painted octane or black wheels, people will trade some good items for them.
After each match, you might get a random crate drop, save these up, you could also trade a bunch of these with people for things like cars and wheels.
Both ways of trading will admittedly take a bit of time and patience, but it's better than wasting money on buying keys to open crates and filling your inventory with stuff you'll never use.
You can also link your game to a Twitch account if you have one, and if you watch the official Psyonix streams, you can also get random item drops that are only available from the stream, although you could trade for them if you want.
Got to agree with @Mist here, hobnobs beat digestives anyday. Although, I can't imagine Miyamoto dunking a biscuit into his tea, no sane person would ever do that.
@Alucard83 Nintendo were originally going to have only 2gig of ram. I can't remember which 3rd party dev requested more ram, but Nintendo actually listened on that for once.
This is the sort of thing that makes me mad. In the past I've suggested developers need to employ more staff to help speed up things like patching out bugs and adding new content, others quickly pointed out that it doesn't happen like that and it won't happen. See this article, now we know why.
@subpoz I'm not expecting portable hardware to be on par with home consoles. I'm just fed up that Nintendo are happy to be lagging behind processing power on their consoles in genral. There's no reason the the Switch could've taken over from the 3DS and then have a more traditional console that keeps up with what Sony and Microsoft have. As it is, I'm buying less of Nintendo's own games and more 3rd party games nowadays especially as most of what Nintendo have put on the Switch are rereleases of WiiU games. It also doesn't help that the Switch is the least social platform out at the moment. The fact that people have to rely on phone apps to communicate is absolutrly ridiculous.
Well, I doubt the Switch upgrade will be anywhere near what the PS5 and NextBox will be capable of doing. At this point I'm fed up with Nintendo not keeping up with the hardware. Once I'm done with the Switch, I'm moving on
Shame the first 70 premium tiers are locked again. I am hoping to get past 70 relitively quickly again, the last 2 passes I've managed to trade items for black markets. Atleast the items in 3 look reasonably nice, I didn't like much out of the 2nd one.
Sad that it feels like the Wii had more features by the end of it's life than what the Switch will ever get. Nintendo don't need to force things like voice chat into the OS, they could just make them optional apps that could be downloaded from the eShop.
Tbh, with defunct studios and licensed games, it would be impossible for Nintendo to get a full list of NES games on the Switch. I'm suprised they managed to get what they had on the Wii VC in the first place, and I dpubt we'll ever see that amount of games on the Switch.
As much as I love Rocket League, it's just a constant buggy mess. I've never known any other game that clears a bunch of issues and introduces more with each update.
I just wish Psyonix would focus more on fixing the problems before adding anything new.
If they can't get the game done, I would love to see Udon get publishing rights and put out a graphic novel series to get the story out. Capcom collaborate alot with Udon, so I know it would be in good hands.
Racing games really need a proper come back, the 90's and early 2000's were full of so many good racers at the time. I had hoped that 90's arcade racer would have given life back to the genre, but that sadly never happened.
Great to see someone at Disney giving the moon theme some love.
I remember playing the game on the NES as a kid, then played the remaster with my 2 nephews when it first came out and they loved it too.
Shame Capcom never remastered the second game.
I would live to bring over all the levels I've made in the first Mario Maker. I've also noticed that quite a few of the new additions were being frequantly asked for the first time. Atleast Nintendo have finally added them in.
It's a shame they aren't adding cross platform trading, there's far too many greedy traders on the Switch. I would have loved to see items drop in value and watch everyone of them freak out about it.
@Gs69 I've noticed noticed that Nintendo merchandise seems to get more shelf space than the games, and it seems to be the same in most GAME shops that I've visited.
Tbh, the hardware revision last summer doesn't mean a damn thing. The damage has already been done and the hackers are already doing as they please. The only people who may be affected by the hardware revision are people who want to use the exploits that the hackers have provided.
I really wanted this game. Shame it had to end the way it did. Even if it does get released, Nicalis are the ones who benefit from the hard work Pelikanos put into it.
I'm sure there must be other games that they work with. Maybe some of the Johnny Turbo and Arcade Archive games might work. Tbh, i'm not fond of the idea that these NES controllers could be useless when Nintendo ends the online service and the NES games are no longer available to play.
