Re: Rocket League Developer Psyonix Reveals Item Drop Rates In Game's Crate System

Dizzy_Boy

I decided a few weeks ago not waste any more money on the crates, simply because it was so hard to get anything nice.
I've let the crates build up and I've been trading them for painted cars instead. I've gotten atleast 14 good cars from doing this. One guy even traded me his toon explosion for 11 crates, which then went on to be traded 1:1 for a white werewolf.
It's insane what people will trade for crates just so they can have more goes at getting the 1 percent.

Re: Switch Isn't The Right Platform For Yakuza, Says Series Producer

Dizzy_Boy

Eh, I don't get it. They released Yakuza 1 & 2 only in Japan, and cry because it didn't sell well.
We all know the WiiU didn't sell well, and I was under the impression that Japanese gamers tend to buy handhelds more than home consoles, so it's no suprise that it flopped. If they had gone with a wowrldwide release it probably would have done way better.

Re: Minecraft's Aquatic Update Phase Two Gets Wet And Wild Today On Switch

Dizzy_Boy

My 7 year old nephew saw the Switch update at the weekend. He was excited to play it for about 5 minutes, he then got bored and went straight back to playing fortnite.
It's about time they squish any remaining bugs and let Minecraft go. It just feels like it's never been a fully finished game with all of the updates it gets. The only thing left that I would like to see them add is boat racing into mini games and that'll be it for me.

Re: Fortnite Season Five Has Received An Official Start Date

Dizzy_Boy

@Shellcore now I understand your point. I've only been playing Rocket League since January, so I missed alot of the early stuff.
Tbh though, I think most of the toxicity comes from the high rank players, they're the ones who seem to complain the most about it I don't play ranked much, I'm still in bronze. Most of my time is spent in rumble and snow day.

Re: Fortnite Season Five Has Received An Official Start Date

Dizzy_Boy

@Shellcore apart from a few obvious duplication scammers, I rarely see anyone being toxic in my trading groups. Mainly because they get booted pretty quickly.
Tbh, though, the harder to get in game items do turn people into greedy, selfish little scumbags. It's not hard to find stories of this on youtube, even on the official Rocket League forums where people are crying about being scammed.

Re: Review: Fortnite (Switch eShop)

Dizzy_Boy

Reading through the comments here, Fornite is deffinitly one of those games that you either like it or you don't.
I got used to playing Black Ops 2 on the WiiU, the maps were alot smaller, so you were never too far away from running into someone from the other team. With fortnite, as someone else mention, you run around loads without much to do. I've played a few rounds, so it's not like I haven't given the game a fair chance because I have.
It's not like it'll be a wasted dowload, my nephews seem to love the game, so I'm sure it'll get played alot when they come over.

Re: Review: Fortnite (Switch eShop)

Dizzy_Boy

I'm just gonna get this out and say what I think about fortnite. It's MEH. I just don't get the hype for this game.
Before you try telling me I'm wrong, it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Re: Two-Wheel Insanity Simulator Road Redemption Is Switch Bound

Dizzy_Boy

With this confirmed, now all I need is for a release date of 90's arcade gp to be announced and I'm happy. These were 2 of my most wanted games for the WiiU when they were announced.
Hopefully they release Road Redemption in a playable state for the Switch, I'll be massively dissapointed after waiting for it to come out if it isn't. It's been in development for so long that there sbould be no excuses for it to be broken.

Re: Rocket League Will Be Getting A New Arena, Extra Music And Fresh Competitive Season

Dizzy_Boy

They're changing around the rewards system aswell by the look of things on their summer updates. They're getting rid of random drops and making them drop as you rank up instead, with better rewards the higher you go.
Also, it's double chances on drops and double paint chances on the drops on crate and non crate items. I've been playing most of this morning and I'm yet to see a painted non crate item though.

Re: The Virtual Console Isn't Coming To Switch, Nintendo Confirms

Dizzy_Boy

If the Switch did get a virtual console, everyone would be whining about paying for the games again anyway. And it's not like Nintendo put much effort into the service on the WiiU or 3DS either. Tbh the virtual console pretty much died the day Nintendo rolled out indie downloads on the Wii.
The other thing to remember is that there have been plenty of retro games coming from Hamster corp, and the releases have been steady for a while now.
I habe my WiiU hooked up to my TV and all of my Wii and WiiU downloads are going nowhere, so no, I'm not bothered about there being no Virtual Console on the Switch.

Re: Soapbox: How Nintendo Switch Helped Break My Crippling Obsession With Achievements

Dizzy_Boy

@Dom I know what addiction is like, I was hooked on fruit machines for years and ended up with nothing to show for it myself. Luckily I never got into debt and I always made sure I had enough money to live on, but the thought of putting more money into fruit machines when I couldn't afford it was always present.
I've been free from that crippling vice for about 5 years now. This is due to the fact that I was made redundant from my place of work, the company was struggling and eventually closed. So being out of work forced my hand into having to give up. Living on the dole, priorities quickly change and I had to learn how to deal with putting what little money I had into what mattered most.
Gambling and trophey hunting obviously are 2 different things, but at the end of it adiction affects people regardless of what it is that your addicted to. It's a horrible state of existance at times and something that can be embarrasing to admit and hard to talk about.
Trust me, things get easier the more time you spend away from the addictive habits. I'll admit that I miss playing fruit machines because I met alot of nice people in the arcades, but I don't feel the need to go back and waste my money any more.
It's all about training your mind into focusing upon on different things, and from what I've read your on the right road. Good luck Dom.

Re: Nintendo Is Turning To Tech Startups To Find New Ways To Play On Switch

Dizzy_Boy

Oh for crying out loud, more crap on the way.
There aren't that many games are taking advantage of the Switch hardware features anyway. Unless something amazingly cool comes along, I doubt we'll see many more either.
This is where Nintendo needs to be leading the way with trying to push what the Switch can do, not endlessly bringing out dx versions of previous games.
