Re: Best Nintendo 3DS RPGs

Dijita

sigh The Switch is an amazing system... but I am going to miss the 3DS. So many GREAT games with interesting mechanics as a result of the dual touch screen. I also really liked the 3D "gimmick". Bravely Default looks amazing in 3D.

I'd like to add one more game that goes under the radar.

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure. It's a VERY cute action RPG made my Nihon Falcom, who are famous for the Ys and Trails of series. (Unfortunately no physical release on the 3DS).

Re: Balan Wonderworld Is Getting A Day-One Patch To Address Demo Feedback

Dijita

@Snatcher Agreed. It comes across as "We acknowledge the issues with the game, it's too late to fix them, but here are a few fixes".

The other thing that bothers me is that I like buying physical games, so I want companies to have games as close to finish before they release so that whatever comes on the physical cart can be played for years to come without needed patches and updates.

Re: Genki: ShadowCast Kickstarter Ends With Almost $2 Million Raised

Dijita

@TheAwesomeBowser Umm.... I suggest you research before you make comments like this. It's impossible for this to brick the system. It simply pushes the HDMI signal.

Even their other product, the GENKI dock, which has the potential to brick a system.... doesn't. Their products are top quality. They've done the work. I trust their products 100%

Re: Review: Wingspan - A Fun And Compulsive Card Game

Dijita

@riChchestM I got the board game for Christmas and I really like it (I’ve only played solo so far). I ended up buying this game on Switch and I love it. The whole UI thing mentioned in the review was confusing on the first game, but now it’s easy to navigate. I’m not sure if it’s because of my experience in playing the board game, so I knew what choices to expect.

Re: Feature: Atelier Ryza 2 Producer On Exploration, Censorship, And The Potential For Seeing More Ryza

Dijita

My first Atelier game was Lulua. There were a lot of things that I liked... but I ended up bouncing off of it. Then I played and beat the first Ryza game. I ADORED the game. I like turn based combat so the more active combat was not the draw that sucked me into Ryza. What I liked about Ryza, was that I felt she was a stronger female lead compared to Lulua. I also got really addicted to the synthesis in Ryza. The GUI was much easier to manage and nicer to look at.

The Atelier games turned my eye to this whole "Slice of Life" genre. At first it as jarring and seemed too light hearted at first, but then that's what I've come to appreciate with the Atelier games.

Now I'm playing through the Dusk trilogy, which I'm enjoying... but not as much as Ryza. The only reason I'm not enjoying it as much, is because I'm having a hard time making sense of the synthesis system.

Re: Video: The Nintendo Life Holiday Gift Guide - 2020 Edition

Dijita

@Gwynbleidd I have it. It's absolutely AMAZING. I have zero worries of my Switch bricking. It's very versatile. I can use it to charge other electronics. It's great for travel (when we get to do that again). The qualities is really good. Hands down. If the Official Switch dock and this dock were the same price. I would still buy the Genki one over the 1st party one.

Re: Rumour: New Monster Hunter Game For Switch Supposedly 'Leaked' Ahead Of Nintendo Direct

Dijita

For F sakes. Nintendo Life, for the most part, I enjoy your site. However, I'm getting tired of all the rumours and leaks that are posted on the front page.

Can you please just stick to actual news and stay away from coming across as some cheap tabloid magazine that you'd find at the checkout aisle of the grocery store.

At the very least, please don't put what the actual leak is in the title.

Re: Ninty Fresh Aims To Relive The Glory Days Of Nintendo Print Magazines

Dijita

I love the idea of print magazines. I was subscribed to Switch Player and Nintendo Force. I've kept my subscription with Nintendo Force but had to drop the Switch Player because it was super expensive for the shipping from the UK.

The only thing though, is that I remember recently Nintendo Life showing news for another Nintendo themed magazine. I do think that the market is starting to get flooded. But I wish this company the best. It looks good.

Re: Limited Run Games Teases Blaster Master Zero Announcement, More Info Next Week

Dijita

@COVIDberry No problems at all. It's why a lot of Canadians who live close to the border, have a mailbox in the US. It's strange. If I order something online and have it mailed to me, I'm almost guaranteed to pay duties/customs. However, if I buy something in the US and drive across the border, I rarely have to pay. And yes, I always declare my goods. I think I've only had to pay duty on tires for the truck.

Re: Limited Run Games Teases Blaster Master Zero Announcement, More Info Next Week

@wazlon I've always been happy with them. They have good customer service and I've always received my games (eventually).

Some people complain that they don't like how you have to wait a long time to receive your games. I mean, I admit there have been some games that took almost a year for me to receive.

The one thing to keep in mind, is that the shipping is expensive if you live outside the US. I'm in Canada (but close to the border), so I usually order my games for delivery to the US. However, with the recent pandemic, I've had to ship to Canada and it's a big Oooof, when I see a $15 shipping charge.

Re: Paper Mario Is Coming To Switch! Paper Mario: The Origami King To Launch This July

Dijita

@Trajan What I loved about it the most are the character's dialogue and sense of humour the whole game has. The design choices and world are very appealing to me. The combat mechanics were some of my favourite, bringing in a slice of Mario's platforming into the mix.

I grew up with Mario games and The Thousand Year Door felt like a gift to people who grew up with it. Turning the world of Mario upside down and having him pair up with a goomba was just good fun.

I can understand that maybe if you're going back to playing it, the combat might not seem as ground breaking as it did back then, thus it won't quite hit the same notes with you.

I wouldn't force yourself to play it if it's just not clicking. I love it. A lot of people cherish it. It's ok if it's not your jam.
