It's not that it's Chibi that's the issue. It's that it's really low quality and low budget art that bugs me. Link's Awakening was kinda like chibi but looked great.
Ner. I played the 3DS games and liked them to start with, but they just ended up feeling too generic for me, and nothing I've seen about this game suggests it's any different. Plus I think the art style has somehow got worse.
Only the Mythra one is. It's a secondary character skin from the main game though, that was a bit less revealing, so makes sense they'd prefer to use that one for a more family friendly game like Smash.
I don't know how much of a problem this really is. It's largely self-correcting. If people get burnt by a company for over-selling something, they'll tend to be much slower to buy from that company in the future.
You guys are really cornering the Teen Vogue does Nintendo market aren't you. I don't think it actually exists as a market. But you're cornering it all the same.
But the point of reviews is to inform people who might buy the game whether they should or not. The point is not to sample every possible human opinion on the game. I mean you might as well try and get a chimpanzee to play it as well if that's the purpose of it. Lets see what they think!
The IGN review is weird. They seem to have found someone who doesn't really like Mario in general to review the game. Not sure what the purpose of that is. Those people aren't gonna think of buying it anyway.
Well those numbers are over 800,000 combined, and stopped being recorded in November, meaning they didn't include Christmas sales.
When you combine that with the fact that sales are always a fair bit higher than actual trophy count (because not everyone plays it immediately upon buying it), I think over 1 million is pretty much guaranteed.
I do think that will be a disappointment for them, but not necessarily a "flop". We probably won't get a Crash 5 though, I'm guessing.
That's just the PS4 numbers. It's also worth pointing out those numbers are lower than the total sales, because lots of people don't actually play the game the second they've bought it.
The gamstat numbers for FF7 Remake for example, were nearly 1 million behind the actual sales (as stated by Square)
The data I've seen suggested it sold nearly half a million digital copies in its first month. I think that suggests the total sales by now must be well over a million. It's just no way near as successful as N-Sane trilogy, which sold like 15 million or something insane.
Well if it doesn't work at all, I think that should be the platform holders responsibility to block the sale of it. Cyberpunk shouldn't have been allowed to be sold on PS4 or Xbox One in the first place.
I think Thomas should probably try and make a game on the kind of scale of No Man's Sky or Cyberpunk before he gets into criticizing them. The Ori games are great, but they are incredibly basic and simple affairs. If that's all the games industry was, it just wouldn't be a very interesting place. We need people who are eager to push the boundaries of what a medium is capable of doing. It's almost impossible to have that without having people who tend to overshoot.
I think some people were expecting a real high end graphical remake, like RE2 Remake or FF7 Remake. It's quite clear from the trailer, and from some leaked gameplay footage on youtube, that that's NOT what it is. It's essentially just getting all of the games up to the ME3 graphical standard and then high resolution and 60fps. It looks like an early PS4/Xbox One game. Not PS5/Series X quality at all.

Re: Sinnoh Confirmed: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond And Shining Pearl Officially Announced For Switch
People really need to stop giving these guys so much money. They're not even trying to make good quality stuff. This looks worse than the 3DS games.

Re: Review: Bravely Default II - An Excellent Old-School JRPG That's Happy To Play It Safe
@Joker13z
I find the art style kinda disappointing. Feels less distinct than the original on the 3DS. Also less interesting than Octopath Traveler style!

Re: The First Review For Bravely Default II Is Now In
I don't trust Famitsu to review JRPGs. They have a massive bias towards the genre.

Given that it's not quite the graphical update that a lot of people hoped, I absolutely think they could port it to Switch in the future.
