Destroy All Humans! launches today on Switch, bringing the original game in the series to a Nintendo platform for the very first time.
A remake of 2005's Destroy All Humans!, which launched on PS2 and Xbox at the time, the game has players terrorising the people of 1950s Earth in the shoes of evil alien, Crypto-137. Your job is to harvest DNA and bring down the US government, annihilating the puny humans standing in your way using an assortment of alien weaponry and psychic abilities.
This new Switch version comes with all available skins that were created for the game as standard, including the Skin Pack DLC. The standard version is available for €39.99 / $39.99 / £34.99, but Europe's also been treated to not one, but two special editions:
The Crypto-137 Edition, featuring a Crypto-137 figurine, a Crypto backpack, keychain, six lithographs, an anti-stress toy, and all in-game Crypto skins, all contained within a premium box, has an SRP of €399.99 | £349.99.
The DNA Collector's Edition, featuring a Crypto'N'Cow figurine, keychain, six lithographs, anti-stress toy, and all in-game Crypto skins, all contained within a premium box, has an SRP of €149.99 | £139.99.
If you're yet to give it a read, make sure to check out our full review of the new Switch port before diving in. We said that the remake "refreshes the original's visuals, modernises its controls and adds a few new weapon and traversal upgrades to proceedings," but fails to make any meaningful changes to the game's "rather outdated core gameplay".

Very appropriate time for a remake of this game
Otherwise known as Dust Collector Editions.
Man I so want this, when I heard it was coming to the switch I stopped playing the the original on the Playstation, But the price its a little to much for this kind of game, So I will wait for a sale.
I wonder what criteria a mere box has to meet before it becomes a "premium" box
@weisske - At least it's direct.
Regardless, if had had some flex money, I would import one of these for shelf decor. However, still way behind on my collection.
Why does THQNordic have to do these expensive collections all the time?
I mean if they keep doing them, somebody must've bought it, but still.
€40 for a 16 year old game haha
@Red_Silurian Why not, Nintendo get away with charging £50 for a 20 year old game - *cough cough * Skyward Sword.
Sadly, I had to cancel my pre-order today in order to get what I consider a much more important buy. Picked up Divinity II physical today from Larian's site for $59.99. The shipping was insane at $15 even though I'm in the States. But, if you missed the LRG release, this is the deal you are looking for. Screw the scalpers....
@Red_Silurian This isn't a 16 year old game. It's a complete remake.
@ralphdibny It is made of the recycled cardboard boxes that Solid Snake himself used at one point that saved his life after which he saved humanity. A cardboard box that was made from the wood of Yggdrasil. The same wood used to build the cross of Jesus after the Romans destroyed Yggdrasil to invade heaven and have it drop down on the Gallians, who then discovered the potion that helped them stand against the Roman invasion.
I'm just guessing, I admit, my history may be a bit rusty, and I never really believed in history since it's just the one with the strongest war machine that gets to tell their version and burn the other versions and the people telling them, but it must be something like this in order to justify that price for someone, somewhere.
Even when I still collected stuff, a unique, gorgeous, extremely large, insane quality statue of one of my favourite characters or whatever, ever, wouldn't have made me pay that amount of money. Not even with a backpack and a videogame I really wanted included...
Unless it came in such a premium box.
I actually prefer the statue of the cheaper special edition. It’s a more interesting design and glows in the dark. Not buying either though, unless I catch wind of a massive reduction in price.
@Shambo 😂 that certainly does sound premium! In fact, you've convinced me. Carved Yggdrasil used to bear Jesus before being recycled for use by Snake?! I've just pre-ordered!
@panthro More like the "junk that gets thrown in a box and put in storage" edition.
@Mr-Fuggles777 I always hate how people claim Nintendo charges high prices for older games. The fact is all consoles do this period. It has Hebron and continues to be this way when things are remastered. PlayStation is literally the worst one now at doing this.
@Dirty0814 I haven't played on my PlayStation for a while so can't say about recent games but a lot of the classic remakes/ports released at a reduced rate - Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted collection, Skyrim and Wipeout.
A lot of the other remakes like Last of Us and FF7 have also been given away with PS+.
When was the last time Nintendo released a budget version of an older game/port?
