@KevinLo9 Thanks! Yes. Continuing to have a blast with it. I love the progression of new factions and alternate champions. I havent upped the Covenant level yet, but I will say its base difficulty is much lower than other similar games Ive played.
How long have you played the game and what Covenant lvl do you play at it? (if you dont mind me asking)
@DarkTron @KevinLo9 yep! I’m came here to see if Monster Train made the list and then felt compelled to mention it in comments. I only have a couple runs in so far, but it’s great.
Boomerang Fu - I found this on the NA eshop today. I don't know if its on sale in the EU, but it was $2. Its a bomberman style party game with boomerangs instead of bombs and it's definitely worth $2.
Sounds like you’re attributing things to Eve that were actually said by her brother. The bulk of this info, as I read the tweets, are quotes from her brother from a previous interview. ie Eve didnt put the ‘excuse me’ line in every episode, her brother did. And her brother had a thing for Tinkerbell, not Eve.
Codename S.T.E.A.M. - I want a sequel on switch so much. Sigh... it will never happen. What is Intelligent Systems working on these days? (I still hold on to hope).
Phoenotopia Awakening - I hit a wall with this one about 6 hrs in and left it for months. Made it over that hump about a week ago and now I absolutely love it. This could potentially end up as one of my favorite games ever. Great puzzles, good pacing, great humor and music, and an interesting world to explore.
May dip into Cyber-Shadow a bit as well, as I haven't beaten it yet, but getting close.
@brunojenso I like the idea of having a custom GBA that I built with my own two hands, but it does sound like there's a good amount of work, money, and learning involved. I'm definitely gonna do a little more research before I commit to the mod. Thanks for your guys' input.
@brunojenso @Lone_Beagle This is awesome! You guys know your GBA's. I may actually try to mod mine. Have either of you done the mod yourself, or did you buy a modded GBA? How tricky is it? I've got the original GBA white and grey model.
@brunojenso what is your favorite way to play GBA games? I have a gameboy advance, but the non-backlit screen makes it pretty much unplayable for me. I was hoping to get an analogue pocket, but they sold out fast.
Merry Christmas to all! Thanks to NintendoLife and the community for being a great place to connect around the hobby and games we enjoy... especially during a difficult year.
@Joeynator3000 Fortune Street is amazing. I bought Billion Road hoping it would scratch that itch and it did not.
I actually found it close to unplayable. The text auto completes so quickly that i couldnt read it or learn the map. It all just moves way too fast. Its a shame cuz i think there were some neat ideas. But playing with CPU opponents was not at all enjoyable.
Culdcept Revolt on the 3DS is really good though if you’re interested in a good ‘board game’ game.
@Shadowthrone Once a physical copy is manufactured it exists. You can track them down on ebay and from other sellers regardless of whether or not they are still be manufactured or sold at retail.
In regards to vanishing without physical copies, you will need to keep your games downloaded and probably backed up in some way to guarantee you wont lose access. When I had an Xbox I didnt have enough storage space to hold all the games I owned so I would delete the ones I wasnt currently playing. If a game was removed or at the end of a console generation I would have to buy hard drives to store all the games I dont want to risk losing access to down the line. On the other hand, I still have a super nintendo with original games that i play. Its nice being able to pop in the physical cartridge and not worry about whether or not square/enix is distributing the original version of FFVI.
These are some reasons I prefer physical for games I know I’ll want forever (or as long as possible anyway).
Not sure why this is getting panned so hard. Sounds like you enter a friend code from your pal one time and then can join with them across any platform whenever you want without entering a code ever again.
This sounds great. Reading about the lack of a map and the punishing exploration makes me think back to NES games growing up. I'm playing through Xenoblade Chron, Def. Ed. right now or I'd probably pick this up day one... I might do that anyway.
@DoktorTotenKopf I hear you and understand that you and you’re daughter don’t enjoy the game, but I don’t think calling the game lazy is a fair description.
There is a ton of creativity in the design, writing, and art direction. Ive found the game to be a lot of fun. And they did develop an entirely new type of battle system. The boss battles are very well done. That said it could be SO much more and I was hoping the system would be more fully developed in a later entry. After reading this article... i guess that wont be the case.
I couldnt NOT vote for the NA version. I tried. None of them are clearly the best choice in my opinion. Maybe Japan because it fits with MM art through the decades. The European version is amazing but very unsettling. It feels more Ender’s Game than Megaman to me.
NA is awful. Awful, awful, awful. As a kid I knew it... I remember thinking “That looks nothing like Megaman.” I didnt call it bad. I just thought it was odd and somehow that added to the intrigue of the game for me.
I’m blathering on, but yeah. NA all the way for me. Not because its good, but because its so bad it corrupted my soul.
@bngrybt i liked the 3DS one well enough but didnt get far into it. I have big hands a new3DS with the nub. Combat never felt good with the tiny system, but the Switch even in handheld feels much better and I love the pro controller. . . So maybe worth another shot.
Any thoughts in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate? I was just thinking about this game the other day and wondering how much it cost. Seeing it here for $20 is very tempting...
@CelestialSlayer I let myself sit with it today for a bit and decided to go with Irimi - a japanese word used in Aikido, which also sounds a bit like an island name in my opinion. Enjoy the game! I just crafted an axe, and broke it after hitting it against some rocks. Ha!

@The_Pixel_King Good call. Been playing Kunai this evening and its a blast. Definitely one I’d recommend. Nice mechanics, pretty funny, and actually more story and character than I expected.
Stumbled on this through the japanese news feed on my switch last night. I think it looks promising. I’m hoping for a review but I might dive in regardless. The combat looks promising and I like the humor and playfulness with the aesthetics. How long is it I wonder?
Yes, he has a needle but I don’t care. The Knight from Hollow Knight would be great. Also voted for the Wrestler from Rhythm Heaven (weird and different like Game & Watch, Piranha Plant and Duck Hunt) ... and after scrolling through all these comments I forget my third vote. The Noodle girl or the Mech girl from Arms would be good... but yeah. Please no more anime sword dudes

Re: Sakurai Reminds Us There's Only One DLC Fighter Left For Smash Ultimate (Again)
Master Hand would be a very fitting end, but the character I want the most is the Knight from Hollow Knight.
Re: A Hand-Drawn Guide To Metroid Is Coming, And It Looks Absolutely Stunning
I played through zelda using his guide last summer. Not sure i ever beat it as a kid. It was great.
Will look to do the same with this - but i definitely beat metroid when i was younger. I could never forget that last bit after beating mother brain.
I think this guys stuff is great and hopes he keeps at it.

@Chowdaire Ha! Yes. A Palico would be amazing. I suppose you're right considering the mii fighters... darn.

One of the last two fighters for Smash DLC has to be a hunter, right?!?! I hope this is the case and it gets announced at E3.

I started last night... realized I didn't like my island name (whoops!) and started over this morning.
I haven't decided on a good island name yet, so I am putting off playing. Perhaps I get too hung up on stuff like this.
