I noticed al these scam games quite quickly after I got my switch in october last year, it's quite annoying having to sift through them all to find legit/decent ones. I definitely agree something needs to be done to get rid of them all. Some of them look worse than games I made myself back in the early 2000's on Game Maker but at least I knew they were bad and didn't release them! (you can thank me for that if you want )
sounds like an ideal chill-out game for me. I like challenging games too - I am a big fan of the R-Type series, but I think easy games are valid and enjoyable too. I have pre-ordered it.
For me, I am perfectly happy with my Switch and will probably have games to last me for many years. I was still playing a Snes when the n64 and ps1 were dominant though so I've never really cared if something isn't up to date/modern ect - that said, I think peoples reasons for wanting a successor console are valid too, especially with some of games coming out that are struggling with the current hardware so I don't want to sound like I am dismissing those folk.
glad that parrot glitch has been fixed - it took me a week of trying to complete that quest (I suck I know) and then I finally get the parrot back only to find it wont leave the screen...then I went back to the screen to find the parrot had completely vanished so I couldn't even give it another go!
Couldn't even get past the 2nd question as it didn't allow me to vote for Fireband from the Gargoyle's Quest series :/ That's the series id most like to see back.
Just over halfway on Prince of persia the lost crown - I generally suck at games, so it's quite difficult for me even on the lower settings, but I am enjoying it a lot still! Currently on the 4 time based puzzle rooms challenge...
@Samalik I can litterally grind while doing other things like working on music because it doesn't take much focus/effort, but spending lots of time trying to get good at something specific like a boss takes up a lot more focus for me. Does that make sense to you? On rereading back my previous comment I can see how that would confuse people, so apologies for that - I'm not always the best at explaining things.
I really appreciate the accessibility options - to be blunt, I am not very good at games and often don't have the time to "get good" either, so its nice to be able to tweak the challenge settings like that to find a balance that works for me. I thought Bloodstained did a good job of that too by being able to level up if a boss or whatever is too difficult. I am excited for this game and to add it to my metroidvania collection!
Quite a few titles for me! The sega ones (SoR, Shinobi especially and Golden Axe) but also Prince of Persia and Tales of Kenzera: ZAU also look my thing. Definitely enough for this ol' Xennial. I don't really play 3d games due to heavy motion sickness but the trailers for those sorts look good too!
Addicted to "Carrion", which is pretty much the reverse horror game I've always wanted. Wish there were more games where you get to play as some lovecraftian monster (but not cthulhu)
I think I'd probably enjoy the game but I live in a rural area with unreliable internet that can be really frustratingly bad at times, so any of these games or apps that require internet are not viable for me sadly. If they released it for Switch and didn't require net, I'd probably give it a go though.
As a professional producer for over 20 years, it looks like a solid start for newbies or young kids wanting to dip their feet in and understand making music, using soundfonts is a good way of keeping it simple and not overwhelming ppl with things like synthesis and production tools like EQ/compression ect. Definitely glad things like this exist.
I preordered it along with the switch lite and should be with me this afternoon. Bare in mind the last console I owned was a SNES back in the mid 90s, so it's kind of a big deal for me
ok I love the look of Carrion, the monster looks like a Shoggoth which is awesome. Wish more games had non-humanoid monster protagonists - that alone wins me over tbh
Well it's gotten this oldie to buy a switch lite and looks like the mario game I had wanted after Super Mario World, for all these years. Can't wait to play it.
Might just be because I'm an old git, but I always prefer to have a hard-copy of something - just had too many bad experiences with digital media over the years, like for example steam games I bought that have been taken off the platform, and the same has happened with other mediums like netflix losing tv shows/films.
Most of mine are ticked off now (new contra, princess peach, prince of persia, marion wonder, metroid dread) ones still remaining for me are a new wario land, a modern f-zero and a new original 2d/top down zelda. I didnt think id get all of those at all so its been a nice surprise for me.
Good news, hope netflix (or nintendo) do animated series for Metroid and Zelda at some point, I think they'd work well in that format. Look forward to these though!
For me, I'll be finally buying a switch so I can play this (and metroid dread) - I can't play 3D games cos of motion sickness and I have a huge nostalgia for these types of games. I am excited to play the mario game I have wanted post-SMW.
It had lot's of yelling "Mortal kombat" and I'm totally fine with that. I enjoy yelling "Mortal Kombat" too - like in the shower or when I'm weeding in the garden.
@RetroGames I think one of the main reasons we haven't seen much homebrew for the SNES is simply because it's much harder to program for, with the audio side and everything else being 2 different programming languages. I too would love to see more SNES homebrews in the future though, it was "my era".
I've been considering buying a Switch since Metroid Dread came out, but don't see much point buying a console for just 1 game, so I watched this in the hope it might have something to appeal to me but unfortuantly not. I'm just not into farming sims or jrpgs personally. Each to their own, but think I'll keep looking for something else.

Re: Metacritic Reveals "The Worst Video Games Of 2023"
Shame about Flashback 2, the original was a classic that I fondly remember.
Re: Sega Reveals New Details For Shinobi, Jet Set Radio, Streets Of Rage Revivals
Shinobi looks pretty much what I was hoping a new Shinobi game would look like. 10 out of 10 Tentacles from me.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Comments On The Possibility Of A Playable Zelda In The Future
I've wanted a playable zelda for years, preferably in an old-school 2d style. Sorry just wish-listing outloud.
