Sadly i couldn't get into it, I just don't have the skills needed anymore and it was killing my hand (arthritus) - I'm sure it's a good game, but the combat is just too much of a struggle for me in my older years, i guess i was hoping it was more exploration based. i was playing on easy mode on a lite, but i just dont have the reaction times anymore.

ehhhh, i was doing the introduction area and got to the boss and had almost killed it (10 percent health left on it) and then it crashed and came up with an error. When i re opened the game i was right back at the start again.

This is good news, i enjoyed it but it was much too difficult for me to play so id appreciate options to tweak the difficulty to my skill level. I will definitely give it another chance when this update comes.

@SirMarkusFarcus I am in this exact boat - got old, skills got worse, patience and reaction times slowed and arthritus starting to show early signs. The game looks beautiful but I suck at bosses and intense combat now so may have to pass on that.

I have no interest in buying a new console and have plenty of backlog to last me years, so still quite happy with my Lite.

I only really play indie games and mostly 2d ones at that, so it'll do for me for many years yet.

just playing Animal Well, loving it so far.

i only got my lite in oct 2023 and have around 32 unplayed games so not in any rush. I rarely play or have any interest in tripple A titles too and mostly play 2d indie-games so the extra power of the switch 2 is not really relevant to my gaming habits.

MP4 and shadow complex are the two that stand out for me, but I'm happy enough with that, especially with my backlog.

he keeps bothering me in my dreams too, nice fella but will definitely tell you off if your slacking on making your game.

ill buy any game with a tentacled protagonist.

I am glad it has backwards compatibility. I will probably upgrade whenever they release a lite version in however many years, and i dont mind waiting with my backlog.

I havent played much of tropical freeze (my first dkc game), as i just suck so much at those mine cart levels, so not sure id get another one.

@AdolBannings-Laylee I have bought software (mostly music related like tools .vst's) and games where the websites went down and could never get them back, gone back to streaming services like netflix to continue watching shows that have been removed for whatever reasons, and also a few Steam games that had also been removed off the client - so wasnt able to redownload them. Due to those unfortuante experiences, i decided to stick to physical for the most part. Glad you've had better luck than me with it, i dont trust my luck though lol

I only buy physical, as I have had too many bad experiences with digital products as a whole and been burned too many times..

@jesse_dylan same here, its why i prefer the lite. I am glad i am not the only one who finds many of those modern handhelds too big.

I'm more 90's industrial/EBM/dark electro myself, but sega definitely flirted with a bit of that back in the day...

I did want to play all 3 in the run up to 4 and I was confused as I couldnt find 2 and 3. I hope they release them, Ive enjoyed metroid prime 1 so far.

I hope they release all of the other metroid prime games as id like to play all of the original 3 before the new one.

Looks fun to me, and Dead Cells became one of my fave games of all time, think I clocked about 85 hours on it so far. This will be a must-buy for me

NEVA for me. I loved Gris and that art and game syle in general is very relaxing and therapeutic for me, especially if I have a bad day. I can't wait for it

@Diogmites I liked Dark corners of the earth for having 2 of my fave HPL alien races - flying polyps and yithians. I wish they'd make a film based on Shadow out of time.

this is awesome, I never got to play it - but the carpenter movie remains my favourite cosmic horror movie of all time, and IMO the best depiction of an eldritch horror monster on screen bar none. I hope the game is good!

Looks pretty cute, may check it out! I have to admit I didn't used to understand the "Cosy game genre", but after trying a few earlier this year they clicked with me and I am finding them a good way to relax when my anxiety or stress is high, so may get this game for days like that.

I'm holding out for a physical copy, but if it never comes ill probably buy a digital copy just to support the developer. It's obvious he's put his heart and soul into this project and the game looks beautiful and fun to me.

Wow had no idea the prices of lego were so high these days - it makes warhammer look almost affordable in comparison.

I have this game but I've not played it yet. I love metroidvanias but I've heard it is quite punishing and very difficult, which has put me off giving it a go so far. I don't have the patience for high difficulty games myself.

Wish they'd do a 40k metroidvania where you play as an irritated cryptek trying to reactivate their tomb and cleanse it of other xenos/imperial/chaos stuff.

Well, they got me - my first gaming device was a Gameboy and I have always loved that green/yellow chunky pixel aesthetic, so this works for me just fine. Also, for only £4 I can't complain, that's pretty cheap (I'd probably sell my own retro game for a similar price too)

Nah, not for me. Each to their own if you prefer digital, but for me personally I'm old-school and I like owning the game and love cartridges. I still love all my chunky NES and Snes carts and they all still work too. Also, digital content can be removed at a moments notice, as has happened to me before for things I had previously paid for, which makes me a little paranoid about losing things if I can't redownload them.

Dredge is like this for me, it has the eldritch horror side but in a chill way - which is ideal for me. I need more chill eldritch horror games.

Huh, well Dead Cells and Lost Crown have been 2 of my fave games I've played recently, so this sounds promising if it is true. I'll believe it when I see though of course!

Yes, it's coming tomorrow - along with a copy of hollow knight. I'll probably enjoy Showtime when I want something easy and relaxing, and the latter for something when I want more of a challenge.

It's my favourite game of all time. It had such a huge impact on my childhood too - not just the game itself, but it's music was one of the first things that lead me into Industrial/EBM music and lead to me becoming a music producer, but also the atmosphere and designs generally inspired me too in other artforms. So I owe a lot to this game really.

Super Mario Bros 3 for me

I was looking forward to this, but the issues with it along with it being a "Code in a box" have sadly put me off it completely.

You just know someones gonna 3d print these and make a warhammer army out of them, and I for one can't wait to see that.

I don't trust digital resources due to bad past experiences - like I've bought games, music and software from sites in the past that went out of business or got bought out and changed things, and I was not able to redownload them, so effectively lost them, and a few times was never able to find those things anywhere else. A similar and related thing is how streaming services might get rid of tv shows/films that were previously available, sometimes without any notification. Things like this are why I generally prefer Physical for my entertainment media.

It feels like this was made just for me as both a metroidvania nerd, and science fanatic. I love the combat based ones, but also - I SUCK At them too so this should be good! Really great concept also!

looks beautiful and appealing to me, I also liked AM2R so will prolly get this - I Hope it gets a physical release.

I noticed al these scam games quite quickly after I got my switch in october last year, it's quite annoying having to sift through them all to find legit/decent ones. I definitely agree something needs to be done to get rid of them all. Some of them look worse than games I made myself back in the early 2000's on Game Maker but at least I knew they were bad and didn't release them! (you can thank me for that if you want )

Contra, Another Crab's Treasure, Pepper Grinder, Ender Magnolia and Endless Ocean all seem pretty appealing to me.
