Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Nintendo Switch?

Blaze

As far as I can tell, this is essentially what the Wii U was originally intended to be; they just completely failed first time around. Personally, I won't be getting one for a while. That trailer just served to compound the fact that the first year or so of this new console's lifespan will involve porting anything of any worth from the Wii U, and as a (regretful) Wii U owner, that doesn't interest me in the slightest.

Re: NIS America No Longer Publishing Atlus Games In Europe

Blaze

Maybe I'm just overly pessimistic, but I think that's probably it for us Europeans. Atlus has displayed its complete lack of regard for Europe over the years - I doubt they're suddenly going to go out of their way to find a new publisher for what they seem to view as a relatively inconsequential market.

Re: The Legend of Legacy is Coming to Europe... in Winter 2016

Blaze

@Ralizah - Yep, thankfully things do look to be improving. SMT IV was a pain, but I think it was the region locking - and subsequent prolonged delay - of P4A that was the most annoying. It was as though Atlus was intentionally trying to make Europeans resent them as much as possible. >__>

Ultimately though, both the U.S. and Europe get rough deals sometimes, but really we should all be more appreciative of the fact that our two regions are generally catered to really well. This comment section is filled with people whining and seemingly trying to garner pity by claiming their region is always overlooked when in reality it's South America / Asia / the rest of the world that gets the rough deal, not us.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms That Recent Super Smash Bros. DLC Additions Weren't From the Fan Ballot

Blaze

I would be happy with any original/unique characters as DLC to be honest; Bayonetta, Amaterasu, Phoenix Wright, etc. We'll probably end up with lame characters like Snake and Wolf or 'Paper Mario' (like, seriously?) based on popularity in the fighter ballot though, because apparently everyone would rather play as characters we've already had before rather than anything new or even vaguely interesting. u__u

Re: Review: Yoshi's Woolly World (Wii U)

Blaze

I almost feel obliged to buy this since us Europeans are lucky enough to get such an early release, and the review only makes me want it more. I'll have to see if I can find the bundle with the amiibo available anywhere at a reasonable price.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Hints at Smaller New Nintendo 3DS for North America

Blaze

Not sure how much of an affirmation Reggie's comments really are, but hopefully the regular N3DS does make its way to NA soon for all those who want the model. Why it was never released over there to begin with I have no idea. Just another instance of - seemingly recurrent - incompetence on Nintendo's part.

Re: Feature: A Nintendo Fan's Guide to E3 2015

Blaze

I guess I'll be watching just the Nintendo and Square Enix conferences then, if that. Interested to see what Sony will show during their presentation too (hopefully a European PS4 price cut), but 2am is a bit too late for me. I might be tempted to stay up were it not for Sony's tendency to include a lot of... uh, superfluous information in their E3 presentations.

Re: Shin Megami Tensei IV Dated for 30th October in Europe

Blaze

@Jazzer94, because Atlus knows how much we like waiting years for their games to be localised.

I don't buy the whole 'Atlus is trying their best to localise stuff and have no money and stuffs' argument. Otherwise they wouldn't have intentionally region locked Persona 4 Arena on the PS3 (which is a region free console, for those who aren't aware) to prevent us getting it until they could be bothered to ship it over here.

This is just another example of laziness. If they're not even supporting other European languages outside of English, it can't take that long to ship the American game over here and slap an EU rating on it. We're not even getting a physical copy!

Re: Shin Megami Tensei IV's European Release Pushed Back to "Late October"

Blaze

This is incredibly stupid. To my knowledge, the game isn't being translated into other European languages and it's a digital only release, hence, it is identical to the US game. I'm not a game dev, but how on earth can there be problems 'specific to the European version' when the game is unchanged from how it was released in the US?

Atlus have effectively sat on the game for well over a year doing absolutely nothing. It saddens me that Atlus can be so incompetent at localising games. I love SMT so much that I don't think I could bring myself to boycott the game, but Atlus are certainly making it hard for me to sustain a love for the games and the company.

Re: The Trending #WiiUDroughtAid Shows That, Actually, There's Plenty to Play on Wii U

Blaze

@SanderEvers By 'remakes' I was more referring to numerous amount of games which are 'upgraded' (although in a lot of cases they're actually downgraded) versions of games already available on the PS360, such as Deux Ex Human Revolution, Darksiders 2, Batman Arkham Origins etc~

and I never mentioned the current PS4/Xbox One libraries being any better, lol. That's what makes the lack of original games on the Wii U so much worse.

Re: Play & Win: Join the UK Mario Kart 8 Tournament Rematch - Today!

Blaze

@WYLD-WOO I will check the Mii on the leaderboard~ and as for lag, it definitely wasn't. The leaderboard showed at the end of the race with the same positions (me first, CPU second, Lucy x third) and I got 15 points.

Also wow, I'm involved in serious discussion on this website for like, the first time in three years. :3

Re: Play & Win: Join the UK Mario Kart 8 Tournament Rematch - Today!

Blaze

I apologise if I'm wrong about this, but I think something weird is going on here. 'Lucy x' apparently won with a perfect score of 240, yet I beat her on Toad Harbour (she came third) therefore making it impossible for her to have a perfect score.

Moreover, when we were racing, she had only completed three races, whereas I had completed around 10 (iirc) and yet, I was only able to complete 15 races in the time remaining, and yet she was apparently able to complete the full 16. It doesn't make sense.

Sorry if I sound like a sore loser (I couldn't have won anyway, even if I had been able to complete my final race, so I'm not that bothered) but I don't trust the results of this tourney at all.
