Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd August)

Balta666

I have tried a few of the upcoming games at Gamescom (metroid and silksong for example) and now that I am still not home I am playing Monster hunter stories which I have to say is a fair bit worse than its sequel (which I consider a switch hidden gem and everyone should play it on trial right now!)

@NintendoByNature I actually played the 3ds version a few years ago but gave up after 32h 😂.

BD2 is a game I adored, but tbf earlier on I found a broken mechanic that made me destroy everything in my way without major issues (until that point I was not having that great of time). But my favourite part of the game is that doing all side quests is very rewarding for the story bits.

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

Balta666

@electrolite77 that is kind of the point imo. We know almost nothing about it because nintendo decided to only show what they shown. You can looks at it from a glass half full and say they don't want to spoil the other part or from a glass half empty and say they have not show anything eles because there is nothing more to present. Who knows if the subterrain parts are not only cutscenes and never exploreable?

Re: Soapbox: Nobody Does 'More Of The Same' Better Than Nintendo

@Varkster I agree and disagree at the same time. Altough I would not call it a glorified dlc I cannot remember other sequels (at least good ones) that reuse the same map and locals for the most part. Mechanics yes but different areas (like Majora's for example)

P.s (edit): basically I am at a point where I think I will wait for reviews of the full content to see If it is worth it. I did the same thing for octopath Traveler II as I was also disapointed with the first entry endgame

@Varkster I do understand the complains from some that it is the same map and also that the ones who loved BotW physics gameplay will love the new additions.
My personal problem is that I am not a big fan of BotW (altough I played it for over 100h) and was hoping for the sequel to "solve" some of the things the game broke with the zelda staples like adding some thematic dungeons, some sort of progression and a bigger focus on story. Unfortunately with the latest trailer I had to realize this game is just not for me and that is fine but I do have the right to feel disapointed I guess.

Re: The Hardest Games On Nintendo Switch

Balta666

I did a few of these and I have to say finishing celeste side B is probably my biggest achievement in gaming. My hands hurt a lot by the end (almost 2000 death's alone in the last chapter of that).

Hollow knight is also very hard indeed. Games like DKTF, SM3D or Dread are challenging but not in the same level

P.s: I would add Hades to the list (it is not the hardest roguelite but still a good challenge)

Re: Mini Review: Twelve Minutes - A Tedious Time Loop That Squanders Its Potential

Balta666

I have to say this is a very poorly written Review. To the point some of the points on the pros and cons not being properly developed in the Review. Yes, the true ending is Bad, there is no way around it but I actually enjoyed my way to it and things like managing to have a perfect day is very nice. The puzzles are not that obtuse but definitely you'll need to go through the loop many times because you never know the results of your acts on the plot, however another thing the reviewer did not mention is that you can skip parts you have done before at some points as long as you do the puzzles required to go to the Next main plot point. In the end I feel this is 6/7 game

Re: Poll: How Can Summer Game Fest And E3 2022 Improve On Previous Years?

Balta666

As far as I understand it has been clarified the statement from ESA does not mean there will be a digital E3 this year. It is still possible there won't be anything of the sort...
Geoff shows are just boring, he gets some of the people together but he does not understand pacing. It would be nice to have something where he gets the trailers but he does not show I guess...

Re: It's Official, Bravely Default II Has Now Sold Over One Million Units

Balta666

I adore this game. The characters appear to be bland at first but if you do all sidequests you are rewarded with some lovely scenes btw them. This was my first entry into the series and was my most played game from this year with 94h according with the latest Nintendo's stats. I have since tried the first one but I found it way too grindy as the jobs leveling up takes ages in comparison. Gave up on it after some 20h or so
