I have tried a few of the upcoming games at Gamescom (metroid and silksong for example) and now that I am still not home I am playing Monster hunter stories which I have to say is a fair bit worse than its sequel (which I consider a switch hidden gem and everyone should play it on trial right now!)
It was a great direct! I was very sceptical from what we had seen so far and was not thinking of buying it and now it is a day one instead.
Don't get me wrong, the destruction is something I don't care about but there are definitely other things to do that look awesome (Odyssey way of doing things)
@NintendoByNature I actually played the 3ds version a few years ago but gave up after 32h 😂.
BD2 is a game I adored, but tbf earlier on I found a broken mechanic that made me destroy everything in my way without major issues (until that point I was not having that great of time). But my favourite part of the game is that doing all side quests is very rewarding for the story bits.
I am really bummed about the price increase, specially on physical media, in Europe. I was already making plans to gift my switch to my nephews on release date but now I am not sure I will buy it after all...
I have been playing Bully for a while but I am now fully on board of picross! Have also tried donkey Kong 94 but don't get where all the praise is coming from as it is still the extremely unplayable gameplay from the early 80s...
Regardless the only thing that can save Unity is to sack Riccitiello... otherwise nobody will trust them not to do something like this again P.s: funnily they still don't say they will scrap it but that they will revise it...
The original is one of my favourite games (and I replay them on gog a few years ago and they still hold if you get used to the tank controls). I will buy this if it comes on a physical cartridge/disk, so far it does not look like it though.
I have to disagree with this take. I think everyone that works on a project for more than a few weeks should be credited, however regarding remasters/remakes it makes more sense to just say "based on the original work by Rare/others" as those people did not work on this product itself
@braincandy101 it was to a certain point but E3 was allways more than just the publisher shows and even until 2019 Nintendo was on the floor and having meetings
@electrolite77 that is fair. What I am saying is that I will wait until people finishing the game say that those things I want from the game are there and are worth it. If they are not it is fine and I move on to other games
@electrolite77 that is kind of the point imo. We know almost nothing about it because nintendo decided to only show what they shown. You can looks at it from a glass half full and say they don't want to spoil the other part or from a glass half empty and say they have not show anything eles because there is nothing more to present. Who knows if the subterrain parts are not only cutscenes and never exploreable?
@Varkster I agree and disagree at the same time. Altough I would not call it a glorified dlc I cannot remember other sequels (at least good ones) that reuse the same map and locals for the most part. Mechanics yes but different areas (like Majora's for example)
P.s (edit): basically I am at a point where I think I will wait for reviews of the full content to see If it is worth it. I did the same thing for octopath Traveler II as I was also disapointed with the first entry endgame
@Varkster I do understand the complains from some that it is the same map and also that the ones who loved BotW physics gameplay will love the new additions.
My personal problem is that I am not a big fan of BotW (altough I played it for over 100h) and was hoping for the sequel to "solve" some of the things the game broke with the zelda staples like adding some thematic dungeons, some sort of progression and a bigger focus on story. Unfortunately with the latest trailer I had to realize this game is just not for me and that is fine but I do have the right to feel disapointed I guess.
@Friendly people have different tastes... BotW is very far from both my favourites Zelda games or Open world games. I am hyped to play totk but if they removed/revamped weapon degradation, added themed dungeons, a lot of sidequests and a more linear story (like Witcher 3) I would be through the roof
I will skip this one for now as I felt pretty disapointed with the first one after finishing the 8 story arcs (even though I truly enjoyed its gameplay) and this second entry, altough looking like it solved some of the issues, did not go far enough
I did a few of these and I have to say finishing celeste side B is probably my biggest achievement in gaming. My hands hurt a lot by the end (almost 2000 death's alone in the last chapter of that).
Hollow knight is also very hard indeed. Games like DKTF, SM3D or Dread are challenging but not in the same level
P.s: I would add Hades to the list (it is not the hardest roguelite but still a good challenge)
I was interested but never realized it had roguelite mechanics... They can be great like in Hades but more often than not I get bored by its grind... It will be a pass for me as I wait for sports story
I allways had raichu as my favourite as I could not have it in Yellow... When I played let's go from the moment I had access to another Pikachu that would evolve I said goodbye to the starter lol
The best? Absolutely not as 64 and odissey are nearly perfect games. But I played it for the first time in 2019 and it is good. The third best sandbox Mario.
The devs have clarified that Right Now there are no plans for DLC but that is not to say if the game does well and with community feedback that they won't do something in the future.
This is a pass for me as I am not into the tactics genre. I bought fire emblem due to the hype and was bored even before getting to the war with one side... I will be back to hd2d with live a live
@icomma imo most of the people that hack a current system have the intent of playing its games without paying. Obviously it will not be all of the people but do they really need to do that when there are só many other systems no longer in the market...
@Kochambra I gave you 2 examples of things that imo are not well done with the review itself (I could mention others). It has nothing to do with my own opinion of the game.
I have to say this is a very poorly written Review. To the point some of the points on the pros and cons not being properly developed in the Review. Yes, the true ending is Bad, there is no way around it but I actually enjoyed my way to it and things like managing to have a perfect day is very nice. The puzzles are not that obtuse but definitely you'll need to go through the loop many times because you never know the results of your acts on the plot, however another thing the reviewer did not mention is that you can skip parts you have done before at some points as long as you do the puzzles required to go to the Next main plot point. In the end I feel this is 6/7 game
As far as I understand it has been clarified the statement from ESA does not mean there will be a digital E3 this year. It is still possible there won't be anything of the sort...
Geoff shows are just boring, he gets some of the people together but he does not understand pacing. It would be nice to have something where he gets the trailers but he does not show I guess...
I cannot understand why anyone would pay real money for this but somehow I am expecting each of these to sell for some big Numbers because I also don't understand whale's behaviour regarding mtx but they are out there...
I adore this game. The characters appear to be bland at first but if you do all sidequests you are rewarded with some lovely scenes btw them. This was my first entry into the series and was my most played game from this year with 94h according with the latest Nintendo's stats. I have since tried the first one but I found it way too grindy as the jobs leveling up takes ages in comparison. Gave up on it after some 20h or so

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Fatal Fury Special (SNES)
I was going to say the Japanese was bland but then I saw the western one and oh boy that is really bad 😂
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give 'Kirby & The Forgotten Land + Star-Crossed World'?
Nice addition to the best game of its release year. A bit on the short side (like the main game tbf) so an 8 for me.

Re: Poll: Has Your Switch 2's Screen Got Any Nasty Scratches Yet?
I got a screen protector directly from the shop 😆
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Hoping To See In The Donkey Kong Bananza Direct?
I will be frank and say what I have seen so far is a pass for me. It would need to show a lot more than "destroy your way around"
Re: Review: Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster (Switch 2) - A Solid Refresh For A 3DS RPG Gem
The only game I bought with my switch 2 and enjoying it a good bit. It is however much much much grindier than BD2...
Re: Opinion: Upgraded For Switch 2, ARMS Deserves A Second Shot At Greatness
Arms is great specially if you play with a controller where you have much more mobility.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl - Duel: Kirby's Star Stacker (Game Boy)
Really surprised with the results so far as for me this one of the easiest wins for Japan. Kirby is just having the time of his life!!
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Launches 5th June 2025, Mario Kart World Bundle Confirmed

Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?
A not for me Direct. I was a bit pissed that they put metroid on the middle so they raised by hopes just to smash it down in 20 veeeeeery long minutes
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (8th March)
I have been playing Bully for a while but I am now fully on board of picross! Have also tried donkey Kong 94 but don't get where all the praise is coming from as it is still the extremely unplayable gameplay from the early 80s...
Re: Nintendo Is Discontinuing Gold Points, One Of The Switch's Best Incentives
That is a shame. Hoping they will have some other thing in mind to replace it (not getting my hopes up though 😞)

E3 is most likely dead. If it returned would be nothing like we knew it until 2019

Ok, I will say it. Emulation of old systems is ok.
Hacking and pirating current systems it is not. Is that simple.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The February 2022 Nintendo Direct?
Best direct we had yet in terms of volume alone and as a RPG fan this was God tier!!!
P.s: I don't I need to say what game I almost cried about and yelled at top of my lungs when they revealed a release date of 2022
Re: Poll: What Are Your Hopes For The February Nintendo Direct?
Xenoblade Chronicle 3 or other project from monolith and I will be very happy!!
