@McDerbert I am also a big fan of metroidvania and never played more than a few minutes of Castlevanias. To be fair that is only a few Castlevania games with metroidvania aspects (symphony of night was the first one). The normal Castlevania games are actually rather poor games if you take nostalgia away
Literally just got my hands on metroid prime trilogy so i will dedicate some time to it. I have never played any of it and have to say as I love metroidvania and don't love shooters I am on the defence but let's see how does it go (the Wii controls should be better than double analogue though...).
Also playing dragon quest 4 and quite enjoying it (how could not as traditional JRPG as my gem)
I was not sold on the reveal as in general I don't like the hack and slash gameplay of platinum but at E3 this game rocked like no other. I wouldn't be surprised to see it as GOTY around there if it delivers on its promises
Switch mini is not for me but I can see being an interesting product for many. The way I see it the switch is very portable already if you pack the tablet separately from the cons. I don't see the mini as pocket friendly anyway... About a pro I will wait and see and if it brings a relevant change I may upgrade from the current one
@Agriculture there are no games that require you to remove the joy cons to play it (or maybe mario party is the only one) and even is you cannot detach them that does not mean you cannot use original joy cons with it anyway.
@BlackenedHalo the only one I remember is FF VIII. Apart from it you can not be great at the game but if you find you level up and you're happy when you beat that boss
I'm looking forward to get my hands on this one although I am not keen on the change from ATB to action. Also although kind of basic games I enjoyed both setsuna and lost sphere
@NOOGA I don't see how would possible to as the whole gameplay revolves around that gimmick anyway. I suspect that if they ported as rumoured you will have to play with joy cons detached with right one was sword and left one as numchuck
@NOOGA on switch we have none and I hope that is fixed. Actually I would prefer the other two as skyward sword is very close to the bottom of the list in my opinion (and not because of the motion controls)
@Thorthegreat12 the "now in development" let me to believe this is not for next year. But as they are now launching Zelda games every year I would say next year we will have a HD remaster of one of the GC/Wii era
@Nagi_Nagisa actually a download is not required for FF X/X-2 as X-2 comes in a code instead (and it is way worse as it will be forever locked on your own switch).
11 games I will get day one or close to (end of September has too damm many great games!!) With 4 maybes and this list is missing good games confirmed and inbet some other AAA will be yet announced and released...
Ii have been playing my fair share of super Mario sunshine and have to say that after surpassing the fact the camera in inverted and there is no crouch jump and long jump (or traditional one let's say) I have to say I am absolutely enjoying it and having played this and galaxy for the first time can say sunshine is the better one (the control scheme on the small planets is just too bad and the levels too linear...). If I feel in need of a change I will try do finish donkey Kong country returns (on world 8 now)
@Lando_ did you play Wolfenstein before or after patches? I played the game last November and it looked great to me (better than doom before patches for sure)
I tried Witcher 2 back in the day and did not click with me (never pass from a couple of hours) and because of that I grew to the idea that I don't like western RPGs, but last year I bit the bullet and got Skyrim (and let's say I put 125h into it...) so I will give this one a chance (if the performance is good enough (my favourite game on switch that I put 250h+ is considered by a few as a terrible performing game aka XC2)
@Supadav03 which ports of current gen are 40$? I wouldn't expect any less than full price for a game like this (same with doom, Skyrim, Wolfenstein, etc)
@ReaderRagfish mate not even comparable just in 2018 there were over 9000 games released on steam! It's a dumbster fire there and "half" of those are cashgrabs
Humm it is the exact same day rumoured to links awakening and that is a shame if true as it will suffer. However I will definitely get my hands on this cartridge!
This is the only FF game I disliked (even though I finished it). Apart from the card game everything is a mess. However I will still get in and give it a go. It may be that after almost 20 years my opinion changes (but efff squall...)
@EchoNemesis a remaster is f this game is extremely unlikely as it is far from iconic in the series (any of the others from the I-X is more likely to go after VII)
I have been playing through donkey Kong returns and it is as awesome as tropical freeze. The control scheme is strange at start but after a while it did not bother me anymore. I also have child of light on switch open but did not resonate with me yet
Uou this looks awesome!!! I liked but did not love the original (have finish it but have not complete it) but the gameplay mechanics look to go 2d extremely well.
@YANDMAN well when a version is the only one with voice overs and an exclusive extra retro artstyle that you can change on the fly I would say it is pretty clear why it is called the definitive edition.
P.s: I did not even had to add the reason you trolls hate so much aka portability

@presenttense there are new switches every week though...
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Explores Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night's Disappointing Switch Version
I am fine with the visuals but they need to work on frame rate and loading times. I will wait a bit but if not addressed I will play it on pc later on

@Agriculture the size of boobs in video games anger people too... (First world problems)
Re: Talking Point: The Sound Strategy Behind 2DS Points To A Switch Mini
@Agriculture like a 3ds without an AC adapter? Literally something without it you cannot play at all...
Re: Talking Point: The Sound Strategy Behind 2DS Points To A Switch Mini
@Silly_G again those games are not incompatible with a new system as longs as you can wireless connect joy cons to it...
Re: Talking Point: The Sound Strategy Behind 2DS Points To A Switch Mini
@Slitth I would you buy a traditional console for cheap with Switch hardware if you could buy a PS4 for the same price and bigger library...

Re: Review: The Last Remnant Remastered - An RPG With Fine Ideas Scuppered By A Lack Of Clarity
Thank you for that review. Will remove it from the wishlist... There are two many good JRPG to spend time on broken mechanics

@Kalmaro no, the saves are on the internal memory and cannot be copied to a pc

As long as it is not a code for the other two I am fine but if it is all on the cartridge even better (I am getting it regardless)

@BigE good luck with those but above all enjoy as those were literally the two best games of 2018!

@Lameborghini FF XII looks and plays great on switch (it really depends if you care much about above 1080p res)
Re: Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Is Coming To Nintendo Switch This Year
@KimBread you can bet this is the pc port lol. Is it worse than the other pc ports? Or is still the music issue?

Re: Ni No Kuni: Wrath Of The White Witch Will Grace The Switch This Fall
Yes, please (heard awesome things about it)
Re: Rumour: Spyro Reignited Trilogy Targeting A September Release On Switch
@Mgene15 the dilemma is your head as most of the switch user base does not care about it
Re: Rumour: Spyro Reignited Trilogy Targeting A September Release On Switch
@Varkster did you see the sales of crash insane trilogy when it launched on switch and Xbox? There is an audience outside playstation
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Has Now Sold More Than 1.7 Million Copies Worldwide
That is great from monolith and the series. This is by far my favourite and most played game on switch and a JRPG masterpiece
Re: Yooka-Laylee And The Impossible Lair Is Playtonic's Next Game, And It's Coming To Switch

Re: Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition Rated By The Australian Classification Board
The sooner the better as this is by far my most anticipated game for 2019 from everything that has been announced so far.
P.s: closely followed by link's awakening obviously
Re: Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition Rated By The Australian Classification Board
@YANDMAN well when a version is the only one with voice overs and an exclusive extra retro artstyle that you can change on the fly I would say it is pretty clear why it is called the definitive edition.

Re: Viking RTS Northgard Lands On Switch Later This Year
@Ig88slayer it is my opinion. I don't quite understand why you say that I spoke for everyone else...
