Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge Probably Won't Get Any DLC

Nowadays devs can’t make a complete product right from the off and have people be happy about it. This game looks staggeringly polished and complete and we already want more… I know you can’t please everyone, but JEEZ. O_o

If it sells well enough they will make DLC. Be stupid not to.

Also, does anyone know when the review embargo is up? I'm guessing later today since it's out tomorrow...

Pre-ordered/downloaded this last night, can't wait. DLC or not this is a must buy for me.

I would really love for this game to just be a finished product, without any DLC and would rather see them make a sequel than DLC. But that's just my two cents. Why can't we just go back to the old days of the N64 and before where games were released finished? Is it really that hard?

On the other hand, there's some DLC that I thoroughly enjoyed, but that's as long as they're handled like big expansions that add a lot of substance to an existing game. Looking at Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, for instance.

Costumes are totally unrealistic, but if the game is really successful I could see Tribute and DotEmu doing something similar to Streets of Rage 4's Mr. X Nightmare. Maybe they could reappropriate a couple of the bosses with new animations as playable characters or add some new mode; something that is both cool and doable but of limited scope.

Lizard Cube and DotEmu both weren't planning DLC for Streets of Rage 4 and then it was a big hit so they reconsidered. I hope this game is as good as that. And if fans show up may be they'll make more game.

People asking for a DLC to pay for instead for a Game with enough Content before it is even released, are brutally d***

I miss games with unlockables. I don't think I've ever bought DLC for any game (apart from special editions of games that come with statues and other physical collectables). But at least they're releasing a full game instead of removing content to sell as DLC on day one like most games.

I think DLC's generally more a good thing than bad, but there's no harm in making sure you've got a solid base product before concerning yourself with it. Don't think it's something you should completely shut the door on though, sometimes games would benefit tremendously from having it even if they are clearly complete products at launch.

I'd pay real money for a Usagi Yojimbo DLC, let's be honest here

I think they’ll be a few secrets and unlockables but it’ll be refreshing to have a complete game on release day.
Hopefully it’ll be very replayable like Turtles In Time.

Same here. One of my biggest disappointments was buying Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Switch and finding out all the cups were unlocked from the beginning. 😫 Loved unlocking them all in the previous games, such a fun incentive to play through the single player game. I hope this doesn't happen again in Mario Kart 9.

The devs have clarified that Right Now there are no plans for DLC but that is not to say if the game does well and with community feedback that they won't do something in the future.

Spoiler alert: The game is going to do well and they'll make DLC.... if I can throw in my request to make Shredder a playable character that would be sweet.

Was hoping for (from the start) that the turtles would have their alternate “Comic Book” colors from Turtles in Time to swap between.

Donatello was more golden brown, and the other three had more various shades of a minty green color. I loved that back in the day.

An additional DLC in vein of the Mr. Nightmare X would be fantastic, too. Other than those, I’m happy with what’s here.

The game will do well, very well. So it’ll just come down to if the developer wants to do it. Still, as it is, this has had me so excited and I cannot wait to play. I appreciate all their hard work.

before anyone says no to DLC , Mr.X DLC in SOR4 is awesome and adds so much replayability with the infinity survival mode. I'm all in for that kind of DLC

They'd be foolish not to make DLC for this game in the vein of Mr. X for SoR4. It's nothing huge but really adds to the enjoyment for fans of the genre. Yes, call it a fan service. And the TMNT brand has a huge fan base. Arguably bigger than SoR.

This is going to be so good.
I can imagine them doing something eventually, ala SoR4 but I am very happy to read that they are confident in this being a complete experience.

Nice, keep this one DLC free. I want my physical copy to be complete. If you had to make DLCs though, just save those for a sequel.

I’m definitely fine with this. Would’ve loved to see Miyamoto Usagi, but with 7 playable and distinct characters, and one of them being Casey freaking Jones, I am more than satisfied.

Cannot wait to play this tomorrow on my day off!

Ordinarily I’d be saluting this - no playable Casey Jones though….. I was really hoping he’d make it. Maybe they’ve gone old old school and he is a secret unlockable.

A few hidden playable characters would really make this old school

@Stocksy Casey Jones is playable. They announced him along with a 6 player co-op mode.

I wonder if we'll get something if we put the Konami code? Anyway, if there's any DLC later on, won't complain, but I'm happy we'll get a full game from day 1.

Although I'm on my 2nd glass of wine due to a day off work, it's not just the 2 glasses of wine that are giving me a warm happy fuzzy feeling at the moment. The fact this game is finally out tomorrow is certainly an additional factor! This game doesn't need DLC as it's got my money already and it's going to be fantastic anyway! Huge thanks to the devs for making a personal dream come true!

Echoing Usagi playable, but want Ninjara as well. she was such a great part of the Archie version comic series.

From my understanding, despite of them not having plans for future DLC they are definitely open to the possibility depending on the reception.

Personally I don't see why so many people have problems with DLC that is done AFTER the game is finished and not stuff that was cut from the game. It's a great way to expand the game's replay value without selling you another whole game, it really isn't that hard to understand. Something in the veins of MR X'd Nightmare would be fantastic.

I’m honestly good with it, it just means the game is complete. I mean if later down the line they decide to develop some DLC, I’m down for it, but as is, this looks like it’ll be a great, solid game. Can’t wait!

I know they say this now, but I’m still hoping they're still considering adding more content... i.e. variety in level design, some vehicular/racing stages (Turtle Van w/ Weapons, Surfing, Gliding), maybe some vertical/platforming to mix things up etc.

Also wishing for lots of cosmetics, costumes to unlock like skins, palette swaps and accessories along with a steady diet of new unique characters to the lineup (Venus, Slash, Spike, Casey Jones, Dimension X Teens, Oroku Saki, Hamato Yoshi etc.) + additional bosses, sub-bosses and transformations, maybe an achievement system too.

Hopefully this does well and inspires a resurgence & renaissance of cool, fun, new licensed arcade brawlers updated and coming to Switch with modern features (X-Men, Simpsons, Bucky O'Hare, Battletoads)... basically call Konami and others lol!

… Wun can only hope.
