I tried a number of games:
Dragon Quest XI
Pokemon Shield
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 & 3
Final Fantasy X
Super Mario Wonder
Super Smash Bros Ultimate

They all look so much better. In some cases the difference is huge.

Xenoblade 2 is the obvious answer

I like tales games but not this one. Combat is mediocre at best. Too spammy. Graces f was much better combat-wise. Berseria is the most overrated game in the series imo.

Well, it's too expensive for what it is.

I don't like nintendo's strategy on software pricing. I mean, they never do meaningful price drops, even for their older games and now they are removing stuff like gold points and vouchers. I hope they'll reconsider.

It's a great game, but it's too expensive imo. It's a niche game after all.

Absolutely phenomenal game. I would buy a remaster of it in a second.

The game has performance issues on switch 2. It would run pretty badly on switch 1.

It looks pretty mid. It's a shame really that the pokemon franchise is stuck with Game Freak.

The issue with nintendo is that they rarely do discounts and when they do, they are pretty lame. Yes, other studios have expensive games and expensive dlc, but you can get the games cheap if you wait. Nintendo games are always expensive!

It's a shame really. I am a digital only user and I used nintendo vouchers a lot. Especially for those 70 euro first party games.

I am totally ready to jump in. I'll buy the console day one, since I think that the pricing of the console (in the eu at least) is reasonable. The pricing of the games though is pretty bad. I am not willing to spend more money on gaming, because nintendo decided to up their prices. This means fewer first party nintendo games for me or waiting for price drops. I hope nintendo will get the message of the gaming community and fix their software prices. They've done it before.

Good stuff. That's really important for post-game, since you fast-travel constantly.

I'll get it on launch, but I am not willing to spend 80 euros on games. I will wait for discounts, or something similar to the voucher program we have now, since I buy most of my games digital.

I can't wait for this. I spent over 100 hours on totk, I seriously love the game, but the performance and the image quality on my 4K 65 inch screen was pretty bad for me. It always bothered me. I can't wait to jump in again on my switch 2.

These prices are insane. I'm hoping nintendo will reconsider down the line, due to low sales of software. This is especially bad for nintendo prodcuts, since nintendo doesn't do discounts, like the competition.

I get that fans want nintendo to always push boundaries and introduce gimmicks, but this isn't always the way forward. That kind of mentality gave us the Wii U. Do we really want another Wii U?

@Arcsol I'm not forgetting anything. I still have my launch 3ds and a new 3ds xl. The new 3ds is a minor iteration. It's literally an improved 3ds. If you think that switch 2 is switch pro, then a ps4 is a ps3 pro, right?

@Arcsol no it wasn't? new 3ds was a minor upgrade to the 3ds. The new 3ds had like 5 exclusive games. I don't get what some people expected. Nintendo abandoning a successful form factor and going after gimmicks again?

I just hope that I can play totk again on my switch 2 with adequate performance and image quality!

Well, don't expect getting good, technically solid pokemon games anytime soon. It's a shame really. I used to love the franchise.

Guys it's not about graphics and "shiny" new things. The current switch console has serious issues when it comes to loading times, performance (60 fps is a no go) and screen resolution (so many games on the switch are too blurry, which impacts gameplay at times). Give me stable 60 fps, snappy loading times and higher resolution and I'll be perfectly happy.

I am a longtime nintendo fan and I just want nintendo to release the switch successor. I think it's long overdue at this point. The switch is really outdated for a while now. Totk was the breaking point for me. Such a great game being held back by obsolete hardware.

I loved it, but I really want to play an enhanced version on switch 2. The blurry graphics, the mediocre performance and the loading times when you fast travel were an issue for me.

I consider myself a hardcore jrpg fan and I admit I dropped the game after 5-6 hours. I found it tedious and boring. I completely disagree with the stellar reviews it got.

There is no incentive for them to fix anything. At this point, Gamefreak can release blank switch game cards with a pokemon sticker on them, and fans will still buy them and defend them. Bare minimun effort is good enough obvisously for pokemon games. They sell like crazy.

Pokemon S & V is still a mediocre mess months after release. Trying to sell us dlc is inexcusable imo.

70 hours in and I feel like I am still scratching the surface. For the record I have 110 hours in botw and I loved it, but Totk is sooooo much better imo. It's the only game in years that makes me think about it when I am not playing.

I think it's time for a successor. Totk is really beautiful, but I catch myself thinking how better it would be if it could run at 60fps, 1080p, with no loading times, antialiasing and less haze effect. Switch had its run. Time to move on.
PS. I really hope switch 2 supports BC.

This is a new low for Gamefreak. Completely unacceptable imo.

Ι loved the game when I played it for the first time when it came out in 2003. It makes sense that it's dated by today's standards. It's worth getting if you are a tale of.. fan.

Engage probably has the best gameplay in the series so far. Calling it a lazy sequel is definitely a reach. Three houses had good characters but the monastery was extremely tedious for a big part of the community. I get that many people dislike the fact that Engange is not 3H 2, but I really don't understand why they can't aknowledge the things that Engage gets right. Sales rarely tell the whole story. Echoes sold considerably less than fates and awakening. So what? It was a great game.

Great news if they actually fix the sound issues. It's my biggest issue with the game.

@AtlanteanMan can you skip Somniel without consequences stat-wise? Do you have to spend a lot of time in it?

I haven't bought the game yet, but it seriously buffles me when i see people saying that they loved the monastery. I don't want to flame or anything, I seriously can't get it. It was tedious busywork for me, I found it incredibly repetitive and it killed completely the pacing of the game. Three houses wanted the gamer to spend more time in the monastery, than in the actual maps fighting!!! I really wanted to like 3H (bought the collector's edition + dlc at launch), but I dropped the game after the timeskip on my first route, because I just couldn't deal with the monastery anymore. I am reading that Engage is closer to the older games gameplay-wise, so I hope I am going to enjoy it.

I read many bad things about p3p, but i decided to buy it and i am having a great time with it so far. Switch being also a portable system means that p3p suits the platform a lot. People tend to forget that p3p came after fes and it has many qol features. It doesn't feel dated and the visual novel presentation has some pros, since it makes navigation a lot faster. It's a great title and I totally recommend it for people who haven't played it. Definitely pick it up before 4 golden.

Sometimes I think that 3 houses got so great reviews, because the reviewers didn't even bother to finish the game. The social aspects of the game are interesting at first, but they really drag after a few chapters. 3H would be a lot tighter if they just dropped the monastery after the time-skip and streamlined the experience. The game was completely bloated.

It's good enough for me since it's not a snoozefest like 3H. I really loved the cast of that game, but the monastery completely killed the game for me. It was beyond tedious.

The score is fair imo, considering the fact that the persona recipe has been improved with persona 4G and persona 5R. Tartarus is really bad by today's standards and it's a pretty big part of the gameplay loop.

I really didn't like the direction "three houses" took with the series. Monastery and the social sim was super dull for me. Looks like I'll really enjoy engage!

It's Game Freak we are talking about. They'll fix nothing.
