This is shaping up to be one of the best Pokemon games. Heaven forbid it might actually be better than the much loved Gold and Silver

This trailer is bitter sweet. Eevee's Z move probably proves there won't be any more eeveelutions this Gen.

@Ninten-san To be fair Amie is a French word which outaide of Kalos- may we never go back there - feels a little out of place. Plus in this side mode you are grooming and "refreshing" your party.as opposed to just stuffing em full of cake.

Thankfully this game is set as far from Kalos as possible. Almost as far as I am from being happy

Sailor Moon-esque Eevee Z-Move!!! while boosting stats are great, I wish it was an actual attack.

@BLPs It wasn't named Pokémon Refresh in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, and that game wasn't set in Kalos.

Well.... kinda complicated for me that not really hype about Pokemon games (Though, i ever played Zettai Onkan Otoda Master NDS, another Mon games that looks similar with Digimon).
But that trailer kinda raise my interest by a little...

@Ninten-san That's because they just built those over xy same with emerald over fire red, hence the gender specific coloured text and victory jingles changing.

XY is a horribly paced, poorly written attempt at a Pokemon game. That huge gap between gyms would be nicer later, Team Flare could've been so much better integrated and it could have flowed better.

As a consumer it's just there for me, as a developer I cringe a little

@Ninten-san - Yeah, but this Amie with new features actually looks a bit cuter and more expansive than regular Amie, so...

Wasn't entirely sold on Z-Moves.....until seeing Eevee's. Potential to do some really creative stuff with the mechanism for other Pokemon.

And I am really excited about Passimian's ability. Can't wait to use it in battle.

Does this mean that the starters might have different evolutions depending on what version of the game you have? Since Rockruff supposedly has something in common with the starters.

@BLPs First third apart of the Kalos journey was fun and immersive... The rest of the game, I can agree with you. It just feels that the game was rushed and various content was cut.

@Xaldin According the revelant leaks, you may be right. Starters will have different evolution depending on the version you choose. Not all the details matches, but they correctly got various pokemon earlier, including that "rugby monkey". Don't read those leaks tho, if you want to avoid possible spoilers!

@Flauber I've seen some amazing designs for Eeveelutions. Ghost type was also a top of my most wanted list. Wouldn't have said no to the often under utilised poison type just because of how gruesomely toxic/awesome the design could have been.

We got Espeon and Umbreon in Gen II, Leafeon and Glaceon in Gen IV, Sylveon in Gen VI, so maybe a new eeveelution in Gen VIII?

@KTT I think it was rushed. I think they mentioned the Hoenn remakes were in the works longer, and Sunday and Moon reeks of more effort

@DarthNocturnal If it is it probably won't help it much outside Little Cup. If Eevee were able to use it without the Z-crystal requirement, it would help it a lot since it could stack with a eviolite for a semi bulky pokemon with decent other stats, not to mention it locks you out of other Z-moves for the rest of the battle. As it stands it might help Eevee gain a small niche, but it won't be super viable, kinda like what Light Ball did for Pikachu.

I foresee some customization features censored in the future...

Decent trailer. Sadly, it looks like the female main character has more customization, sooooo lies about gender at beginning of the game

@ASonic3582 Remember, Eevee can learn Baton Pass. That makes him semi-useful in the lower tiers. Wouldn't be able to get the BP off in OU though.

@Ed_Fairway The updated version was deleted but I found older version here: http://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1154563-pokemon. The updated version included more commentary on the images about what was confirmed and what was not so not a big miss here. But it also had more interesting screencaps of someone explaining that they can confirm some leaks and that Rockruff does have split evo, starters have them too, and that those evos are version exlusive. That part was particulary spoilery about other gameplay features.

This game is truly looking better and better as more footage is shown. I'll admit that I didn't have extremely high hopes when the game was first announced (XY really let me down), but I've been proved wrong with what I've seen. I am truly excited for November to play Pokémon Sun.

I hate this entire trailer. I'm getting Pokemon Moon so I don't get the rugby player I want. I don't get the evolution of Rockruff that I want. Starters are now version specific. The new Z moves are stupid and add nothing to the game play that another hold item would not. Customization was already confirmed when Battle Royale was shown and eevee only having known Eeveelutions was confirmed at e3.

Rockruff's Evolution has different abilities in the different versions. Basically the same as having two different Pokemon evolutions. Rockruff's Evolution is similar to the starters final Evolutions, already confirmed. As such, version specific final evolutions

Anybody else notice, that Refresh was being use to heal status effects?? Poison and paralysis went away after using that weird looking wand.

@IceClimbers You're right, I forgot about that, but is the 1 time Baton Pass boost worth your Z-move slot? That will probably end up being the deciding factor in Eevee's usage from here on, though that'll also depend on how strong/useful Z-moves are as a whole. On top of that I believe Smogon bans Baton Pass with Speed boosts, so legality may vary.

I really like both Passimian and Oranguru, and Oranguru is my favourite of them. I prefer Lycanroc's midday form, so I'll need to trade for that sometime.

I'm a little disappointed that it's always the popular pokemon like Pikachu and Eevee get the extra love with special moves, but that's not surprising any more.

@LordGeovanni That's a bit of a leap in logic. Maybe the secret is that they have Super Secret Z-Moves. Maybe they can walk by you under certain conditions. What if the secret is that they're perfectly normal? I don't know and you don't know.

what exactly is your comment referencing? My comment about the Z moves being stupid? Until we start getting some more specifics about the moves, it doesn't matter how many of them they show.
We still do not know if the move's power changes based on on the original move that the Pokemon knows. We do not know if it requires certain terrain elements. We do not know if it inflicts statuses or reduces stats.
Until we know any of this stuff, announcing more moves is nothing more than saying that more Z moves exist. We still don't know what they do. And it is just a waste of our time sitting here trying to consider what they do.

The sandcastle has to be the best Pokémon of all time, though. I like it the most out of all of the new designs, although Orangu is OK.

I guess I won't be able to wait for it anyway... it's a bit of a lose-lose scenario to me - I either experience the Alola region as it is or endure a three-month wait. Neither option seems inviting in the slightest.

@Mega_Yarn_Poochy Rockruff and the starters share a secret according to CoroCoro and with the reveal of version exclusive evolutions for the pup it seems perfectly reasonable to assume that's the secret they share.

I know pikachu is the mascot but.... I don't like it saying "pika pika" for the games ._. It feels out of place.
And yeah, I know that it began with X and Y but I didn't like it there either.

I hope Ash's Pikachu forgets Electro Ball to learn CatastroPika. I never did like that he forgot Volt Tackle to learn Electro Ball.

Huh ? Of course Pikachu will say 'Pika Pika' as its language. There is no way for Pikachu to say different words, like 'Chuu Chuu' or 'Bzzt Bzzt'. XD
It won't be fit also.

@Anti-Matter I think the problem they have is that Pikachu is the only one that says its name in-game. Everything else just says an assortment of beeps, bzzt or cheeps rather than their name so it's odd that Pikachu would be the one exception.
