Re: Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 Switch And Switch 2 Physical Version Download Requirements Revealed

AverageGamer

@Znake It has nothing really to do with Nintendo besides the fact that they don't offer cartridge sizes smaller than 64Gb. It up to studio and publisher if they want to do an actual physical release or game key release. Cyberpunk is on cartridge cause CD Red wanted that... These publisher pick gamer key releases are doing it for their own reason. Nintendo aren't forcing them. Could Nintendo improve the situation. Yes. By offering smaller carts and eating the cost to manufacture the already crazy to expensive cartridges.

So you saying that you will sell your Switch 2 and run to PS5 mean nothing cause the same studio and publisher can do the same over there is they choose to.

Re: Switch 2 Storms Towards Its Forecast Target With 17.37 Million Units Sold

@spiderman0616 I own an OLED. Along with a launch day edition switch, a splatoon 2 edition, plain “Mariko“ switch, and an animal crossing edition Switch.

I can easily say the upgrades on the OLED weren’t worth rushing out to buy unless you didn’t own a switch, or just like I said, enjoy burning money.

It not like the DS to DS lite which was a major refresh; or DS/DS lite to DSi which was a “Pro” model, faster hardware, added cameras, had 6 exclusive games, and introduced the Nintendo DSi Shop… etc

Re: Switch 2 Storms Towards Its Forecast Target With 17.37 Million Units Sold

It crazy to think it topped the DS when you consider how many systems were apart of the DS family… You had the DS, DS lite, DSi, DSi XL. With actual reason to upgrade your between them. With the Switch… You only had the Lite, Switch, and OLED. And if you bought your switch during the first year, there was absolutely no need to buy the OLED or Lite other than burning money.

@Fizza ".but even under that pretense the game's age rating would make it abundantly clear what kind of experience it is for any impressionable young-uns and if that still wasn't enough,"

You surprised how many parents would go "Oh... It superheroes and stuff. How bad can it be?" It same thing the happens with all of those adult animations that get released in theaters, and people bring their kids to them. They don't care about what it rated...

@NeonPizza “ At least Steam Frame + Steam Machine are just around the corner, PSVR3 for PS6 will probably happen now that Jim Ryan has left the building before 2030, and Nintendo will most definitely dip into VR once the barriers or frictions are nixed either for NS3 or maybe even later in the NS2's life span”

Sadly, none of this is a good or great thing. We’re just gonna be buying a bunch of hardware with nothing to play on it. The only reason VR had lasted as long has it did… Was because Meta was actually investing it. Making hardware means nothing for the industry. Sony has already shown that their investment in games is gone with their studio closer. Valve doesn’t really make games. Nintendo can barely get enough games out for just flat screen switch. They aren’t gonna start making VR games.

Meta was a hardware + software. They was investing billions in not just hardware + studio purchases. But also game investment and publishing. Meta has allegedly spent $60 million to fund VR games so far in 2026.

Valve and Sony was riding the wave of Meta investment. Meta pulling out just killed any potential reason to buy any VR headset unless you strictly plan to play flat2vr mods and VRChat…

rip VRCHAT now tho. It probably gonna be a lot harder to seek investment from investors going forward, and the growth of the platform relied heavily on Meta bank rolling cheap Quest headset.

Re: Nintendo's President Remains Coy On Potential Price Increases

@rallydefault I still think it comes down to retailers. Like it or not, publisher have to deal with the relationship that comes from selling in store. If said publisher decided to sell a game at lower cost digitally vs physically. That could harm it relationship with say walmart or the likes... That could mean less end cap market or front page online marketing. Retailer like Walmart who have large power over the retail space could potentially throw their weight around like they do with a lot of physical goods and fight for lower retailer prices...

Re: GameStop Kicks Off 2026 By Reportedly Shutting "Hundreds" Of Stores

AverageGamer

TBH... Gamestop has way too many locations for a dying medium. If you liked physical games that much, but you didn't shop at walmart or didn't just order online... But had the need to go into a physical store. You are the kind of person that have no problem driving the 20 or 30 miles to find one.

I live on the boarder between WA and OR, my "local" (it 25-45 minute drive from my apartment) gamestop was affected by this closer. But right across the bridge in WA there are 3 other gamestops. I only even been in my local gamestop once cause it made no sense to ever go there. If I was out shopping, i was at walmart so could just pick up games there, or I was in WA where I could shop at a retro store, or go to the 3 gamestops there. Other times I just order online and have them shipped.

Re: Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Probably Won't Come To Switch 2 Anytime Soon

AverageGamer

@michellelynn0976 That doesn’t prove anything. You just posting a google search link without proving anything actually information. Cyberpunk is on PS4/Xbox One… AFOP is not. A lot of Switch 2 port efforts stem from last gen effort while building on top of that and scaling up. Cyberpunk technical advancement comes from the fact the team has continued to build upon it’s very limited last gen scope using next gen features. But the base of the game is still very last gen. AFOP base is all next generation features like it lighting model only being RTGI.

@Kiz3000 If you’re gonna quote me. Use the full quote, not cherry pick.

“ Switch is a handheld first and full most. It sleep mode needs to work. That not negotiable.”

Your switch probably never leave the house, much less it dock then if you feel that way. I’m probably relying on Switch sleep function 10-20 or times a day cause it a handheld. No matter how fast a game boots. No one wants to sit through a boot 10-20 a day.

Re: Feature: My NES Longing, My Son's Terrifying Switch 2 Obsession

AverageGamer

@JasonLee99 It cause the companies have train us to wait. With all these different colorways, slim, super slim, Pro, OLED edition, Lite... etc You're getting the worse value at launch just buy a plain black one.

That why console sales have gotten so big pushing 100+ million unit. People don't end up with just one... They tend to end up with multiple. I bought 4 Switch. (Launch, Splatoon, Animal Crossing, and OLED).

In a couple months, we'll probably get a smaller node Switch 2 like the Mariko Switch. That massive improves the battery life... etc.

Damn. 3000 words paper. Yeah. Go ahead and buy him a switch 2 😂

My dad made us write papers and make power points to get something me or my sister wanted. I spent an entire summer in the library reading about owning and taking of cats in order to write a paper, so I could get a kitten. It worked, and I got one right at the end before school started back up. He lived for 16 years, passed away this year in February a week before valentine day. The entire family misses him terribly everyday.

Had I took it upon myself to write a 3000 paper without him asking me to… With as much detail as the one in this boy paper. My dad would ran to Walmart and bought not just a bundle, but every game available for Switch 2 in the gaming aisle. 😂

@romando “ There is room to improve even if they want to keep the hybrid design”

There really isn’t that much room to improve unless they dump ARM and go with a traditional x86 system that comes with it own pitfalls (heat, size, battery life… etc). Nintendo is using what is available to them. They aren’t dumping tons of money into ARM RND development to get the bleeding edge of tech cause the end user cost, and stock is not worth it…

I was originally planning to pick this up day 1, but unfortunately life is getting in the way this month… Plan to fly home for Christmas to see the fam, and plane tickets came out to a cool $1k 😮‍💨

And I still have to get my kitty checked out at the vet to get him airplane/airport ready.

Great to hear that the port is great. And with time patches will make it even better.

I hope they eventually port Mirage to the system. It would interesting to see what a Mirage port would look like since that game has a smaller scale. So it wouldn’t need to be as scale back graphically.

Re: 'The Duskbloods' Could Be FromSoftware's Most Ambitious Game Yet, According To Leak

AverageGamer

@Medic_alert Games don't have to sell a massive amount to be a big classic. Bloodborne was never a massive sale success. But is easily regarded as their best title.

"BB runs horribly on PS4" It doesn't run bad. It has poor frame pacing which is systemic issue with all of Fromsoftware games which will probably have the same issue on Switch 2.

The game would mostly like gather negative comparisons from a visual and performance standpoint due to the fact Switch 2 cost more and is supposed to be stronger than the PS4, but given that they had to delay Elden Ring. Fromsoftware is already struggling with Switch 2 development.

Re: 'The Duskbloods' Could Be FromSoftware's Most Ambitious Game Yet, According To Leak

AverageGamer

@Medic_alert I’m glad they are doing something completely different and trying to test the waters on stuff. Glad Nintendo is also giving them the opportunity. We don’t need a “But we have bloodborne at home” ahh game for the Switch. Only thing that will do is draw comparisons to Bloodborne. That wouldn’t be good for the Switch due to potential of the game looking worse or on par with Bloodborne for PS4.

Re: Nintendo States Its Intention To Acquire More Development Teams

AverageGamer

@GgGames It not an argument. But Nintendo since Switch 2 release has put out Mario kart World, DK Banaza, Hryuld Warriors Age of imprisonment, Kirby Air Riders, Metroid Prime 4, Pokémon Legends ZA. Mix in the Switch 2 editions, Mario Galaxy 1&2, and wheelchair sports game… They have basically put out a new title every month. You cannot get faster than that before you end up having releases overlapping and people budgets dry up.

@edgar14 @UpsideDownRowlet Y’all may be too old to realize it… but he is not wrong. I’m definitely far from a casual gamer. I own a Switch 2, PS5, a highest end PC gaming, and multiple VR headsets with 1000s of games purchased between these platforms. But a lot of my time and other people around my age are spent doom scrolling. We do it at work, school, on the toilet, on the train, bus…. Etc.

These companies need us to stay engaged with their platform. Us buying a one or two game every couple months, finishing it in 7-8 hrs then moving on with our lives isn’t helping them.

They’re are probably looking at why am I doom scrolling on YouTube shorts every night right before bed instead of say playing my Switch 2 or streaming xCloud; or why did I spend my 1hrs lunch break doom scrolling instead of playing.

There is gonna eventually be a negative affect especially with younger kids who has been growing up with this short form content. You gonna run in issues like reduced attention span. They aren’t going to be interested in a lot of these long video games that require at

Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2

@Haruki_NLI Yet they bought Grounded and Pentiment to Switch. We had Tony hawk Pro skater this year. They announced both Indiana jones and Fallout.

Y’all are acting like the moment they announce support for a platforms… The flood gates just suddenly open and games just start magically appearing on the platform without consideration of the amount of time, money, effort, and endless corporate meetings it take to even determine if it possible and timely to port these games over. On top of the fact we’ve been hearing all year that it been impossible to get switch 2 dev kits.
