Re: Talking Point: Revealing an Innovative Legend of Zelda at E3 Could Provide a Timely Boost for Nintendo

Andrzej777

@LeRaposa

Zelda is never gonna be obsolete. Especially in an era of the witcher and other adult oriented titles we need games that both children and adults can play and have. Something that doesnt excel at making a grim and gritty worlds feel tangible but rather focus on the bright and beautiful - thats what Zelda has been to me, a diversion from games like fallout, skyrim and many other titles. I rather scour zeldas dungeon and find a solution to some puzzles than roam forsaken vaults in order to collect some scrap metal, but thats just me.

Re: Video: These Fan-Made Concepts For Splatoon, Animal Crossing And Mario Kart Should Give Nintendo Pause For Thought

@Porpoise

I dont think Nintendo hates money -

They were rather surprised not too many people would buy their Wii U at launch and want to play nintendoland. That would have been easy money. Over time they realized they would need to bring out quality titles like mario kart 8 and not just remakes of old zelda titles - an impossible task. Right now they have shuffled all resources towards the NX and hope to make their money then.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo's Next Generation Handheld Is Codenamed "MH"

Andrzej777

@Project_Dolphin

Why do think so?
Fact is, nintendo has been cheaping out their customers for a long time, by providing old fashioned hardware. What if the wii u had been more powerful? They could have still made the games they wanted to make. And other developers would be enabled to port their games to the wii u. Being innovative does not mean you need to use outdated hardware. Graphics and power arent everything but they CAN make things possible.
Let me give you an example. When I bought the ps3 I became interested in Blurays just because I suddenly had the possibility to play them. My mother likes BBC documentaries and we bought a lot of them over the years. I still have my ps3 (but dont own any games), just use it for watching blu-rays. However, it has been working louder and louder these days and I fear its days might be over soon. Sure, it will break one day - and what then? Am I gonna buy another PS3 just for playing blu-rays? Certainly not! Am I gonna buy a blu-ray player? Wouldnt really wanna do that! The Wii U doesnt play blurays. If it did I would have another option. And this is another reason why I am somewhat inclined to buy the ps4 one day. I think its cool if a console was just made to play games - its really awesome if that is its main focus. On the other hand I dont like the idea of having to switch between multiple devices if it could technically run on one and the same device.

IMHO innovation is cool, but it should definitely bring already established stuff with it and not cheap out on it. Its like buying a car which has some innovative technique but comes without airbags.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo's Next Generation Handheld Is Codenamed "MH"

@Gold_Ranger

I think thats a minor complaint. As far as I know there is still tons to do in the game, the world seems to consist of beautiful scenery and graphics and the sidequests are more than the usual fetch quests. Of course, I am still undecided wether I will buy the ps4 in the long run. It will largely depend on what nintendo has to offer - so far I am good, and even right now I have such a huge backlog of games that I doubt I will ever play in my life - I am getting older . Instead of beating the games that I own I just tend to play MK8 online - never even tried splatoon , even though I bought it around day one.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo's Next Generation Handheld Is Codenamed "MH"

Andrzej777

@DoctorOverbuild

- I will probably do that. In fact I am just toying with the idea of getting the PS4. I would like to play the witcher with its add-ons. Thats basically the only ps4 game that I am interested in. Its a shame to buy a console just for one game. Maybe I will wait until the ps4 gets cheaper (probably when the ps4 k releases). I will definitely wait and see what nintendo comes up with.

Re: Editorial: Fire Emblem Fates and Code Name S.T.E.A.M., Two Very Different Intelligent Systems Ventures

Andrzej777

I bought Codename Steam around day one for full price, being aware of the negative feedback I kept my expectations low. I dont think its a bad game - but after playing a couple of levels I sadly lost interest and moved on to something else. Definitely gonna go back some day... I think this game is a little bit like xcom - but worse. A new IP should be better than some benchmark titles in order to be succesful - a good reputation of the developer does not always help... In retrospect I should have waited with the purchase until now - for half price...

Re: The Legend of Zelda Will Have Its Own Range of Trading Cards

Andrzej777

I am just interested in games - neither trading cards nor amiibo toyds will waste space in my room. But thats just me and to each his own. Collecting can be a lot of fun, though, finding that rare gem that you have been looking for for years can be an awesome feeling but then what? I 'collect' games in the sense that I buy them and dont sell them. I dont buy garbage like amiibo festival just because its made by nintendo and if I cant get my Pikmin 2 for a decent price then I will have to put up with that fact.
Its nice to have a passion for something, an addiction is an entirely different thing. Take a look at certain game rooms which you can see on the net. People buy virtually every game for a system no matter how good or how bad it is - sometimes multiple version of the same game - just to own them and have a complete collection of some sort. I doubt they will ever have the time or even want to play all of those games through. - to be fair, I doubt that I will ever play through all of my games.

Re: Reaction: The NX Release in March 2017 and How It Changes the Game

Andrzej777

I think the Nx missing the holiday season is not that bad - I doubt it would be on many peoples wishlist anyway - not talking die-hard nintendo fans here. Its better if it launches in march with lets say Zelda as a launch title (wonder if Zelda is the culprit for the delay). A holiday release would only make sense if killer apps were available otherwise it would repeat the Wii U launch which wasnt a good thing

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Needs to Excite A Mainstream Audience in 2016

Andrzej777

Nintendo adressing mainstream audience seems to be like an unfortunate task these days. I dont really wanna go into details here.
Personally I think, Nintendo has a very strong fanbase, I mean 10 million people have bought the wii u and what did they get from it? Not too much, sure MK8 is great and theres a couple of other games but generally speaking the software lineup could have been much better and this is something that I will hold against them and remember. If third parties jumped ship they should have really gone the extra mile and delivered awesome games one after the other,. Of course they didnt, they came up with amiibo festival and what not.
So, if you have a strong fanbase you should care about them and deliver!!! Right from the start with a strong fan oriented line-up and all the way, right to the end. By doing so, you will attract other people and turn them into fans. Third parties will come along. Other than that, we have seen with the wii u....

Re: Review: Star Fox Guard (Wii U eShop)

Andrzej777

If it hadnt been for this game I wouldnt have pre-ordered Star Fox Zero - and chances are I would have dismissed SFZ after reading some reviews (its definitely not the must-have game for me).

Right now I feel like I pre-ordered two games not knowing if I am gonna like any of them. They might surprise disappoint me at the same time - funny feeling. Definitely worth the try!

Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Andrzej777

I had my doubts about this game right from the beginning. The control scheme wasnt something that made me look forward to it. When I star fox guard was announced as a physical copy to be included in the first print edition I was sold (dont know why though) and pre-ordered it. Right now I am not feeling to comfortable about getting this game - seems a bit lackluster, rushed, twisted towards the end of production and definitely not a killer-app - I was even thinking about cancelling my pre-order. Still I decided to get it and be open minded about it - hopefully I find something to like about it.

Re: Poll: The Wii U GamePad - Where Do You Stand on Nintendo's Hefty Controller?

Andrzej777

Even though I quite like the controller I think it was not a good idea.
First of all it kinda makes an underpowered console quite expensive for what it is. Second, it wasnt really put to good use too much. How many games really make use of it? I understand it was the only way to go for nintendo to introduce it. If the pro controller was the standard, nobody would have bought an expensive alternative that doesnt really do a lot.
