Next month Fire Emblem Fates will receive a generous helping of DLC content in the form of various maps which present fresh challenges and new stories.
From May 5th until June 9th, a series of new maps will go live which can be purchased in special bundles. The first map will be available for just 49 cents.
Here's the official PR:
The first map, I: In Endless Dreams, can be downloaded for only 49 cents, with subsequent maps launching weekly until June 9 and available for $1.99 each. Fans that want to automatically receive each new map as it releases can do so by purchasing Map Pack 2 for $7.99. Map Pack 2 content is priced at more than $10 when purchased individually. Even players who have purchased I: In Endless Dreams can still purchase Map Pack 2 to receive a discount when compared to buying the subsequent maps individually.
Fire Emblem Fates, acclaimed by both critics and audiences, finds players battling on a variety of maps using a memorable cast of characters, each with different abilities.
Unlike the contents of Map Pack 1, the stages included in Map Pack 2 tell an ongoing story. Across dimensions, other versions of the Hoshidan and Nohrian children are under attack. Born and raised in the Deep realms, these fledgling warriors must now rise up to save themselves and their parents as they unravel the mystery of their adversaries. In this six-map series, units leveled up in the main game cannot lend support. Players must devise a strategy using a fresh team to reap the rewards, but only if all units survive.
As a bonus, Another Gift from Anna, which provides players with the Boots and Paragon items, is available to download for free on May 5 for players who already own the Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright or Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest games.
Here's the release schedule for the packs, and their prices:
- May 5-June 9 – Map Pack 2 ($7.99)
- May 5 – I: In Endless Dreams (49 cents)
- May 12 – II: Realms Collide ($1.99)
- May 19 – III: The Changing Tide ($1.99)
- May 26 – IV: Light's Sacrifice ($1.99)
- June 2 – V: Endless Dawn ($1.99)
- June 9 – End: Lost in the Waves ($1.99)

A mini story? I'm game.
Awesome, I'll be picking this up. This isn't the Memories of Foam mini series though? The description is sort of similar.
@xPH03N1Xx86 @Aqueous Yeah it's the Memories of Foam series of maps. Which is a side story "4th path" wherein the children need to step in to save the world after the avatar took the path of Revelation, but the avatar and co ultimately failed in the end.
I haven't bought a lot of DLC yet for this title...but I'm certainly considering it.
I love this game, so I am pretty excited about getting new DLC. Also I like the fact that it will have a cohesive story to tell.
@ASonic3582 Awesome. I love the children characters, as I've done an all child run in Birthright and Conquest.
Also the price is somewhat decent for this map pack.
Interesting.
Hurry up Nintendo, i need the damn game first!
I feel like this one is a good price, its a dollar and something for each extra Map.
I'm still playing Fates (played Hoshido and Nohr and now I'm on revelations doing all children and grinding levels and skills), and can not wait for more. This is problem the best Fire Emblem yet, and that's say something.
I passed on Map Pack 1, but definitely getting this.
Excellent, more content for a low price. I haven't played Fates in a while, but new maps are always a pleasure.
I'll preload some funds later.
@BensonUii Honestly, I feel as if its the information to the game, just like fight with your birth family is for Hoshido, side with your adoptive family is for Nohr.
@ASonic3582 - I bet that's explained in the beginning but it still feels like a spoiler, would have loved that as a surprise.
Excelent.
I believe these are the 'Recollection of Bubbles' DLC that focuses on the children. (Future Past 2.0)
I wonder when the Festival ones will be released though. They had more dialogue than the FE:A ones ever did.
Definitely getting this map pack.
It sounds like it brings an interesting twist, and I'm all for more content. Hopefully this isn't the last batch of DLC for the game.
@sWiTcHeRoO We're still missing the two scramble maps, so no, I don't think this is it.
If all the maps were $.49 I would snag them. I don't see the point of paying as much as they are asking for a single map. They already have the engine built, and they have been using layouts of stages from previous games. I don't like rewarding people who are just milking us at those prices. Give me a $10 expansion pack.
The maps are no good to me, I don't have Fire Emblem Fates and it looks unlikely I will have it on 20 th May.
I want the Special Edition, so I can have the three games on one card, I am not interested in the other stuff in the box.
I don't download games when physical copies are available and I don't intend to pay over the odds for the seperate physical copies, just because of Nintendo's stupid and unfair marketing.
If more people voted with their wallet maybe companies doing this sort of thing will get the message.
I get to hear Shigure singing in this map so you bet I will play it again. Not to mention after hearing the Japanese voice actor's version I'm much more intrigued to hear the English version. But man was this map hard to play... with that lame hit rate it was so frustrating sometimes. The only two good things are the story and rewards.
@sWiTcHeRoO Sad thing is, this seems to probaly be the end of DLC.
The official soundtrack has released, meaning they can't add more songs.
Though this stills doesn't guarantees the end of DLC, as they can just make more maps using the same assets and add the dialogue. But it seems that would be it, since with these DLC, it will be possible to get the missing Scroll items for the "Taker" abilities and Point-Blank/Paragon Skills, so it sorts of limits the DLC content.
@zool
I voted with my wallet and bought 3 physical Special Editions, 2 physical copies of Birthright, 2 physical copies of Conquest, 2 digital copies of Birthright, 2 digital copies of Conquest, 2 digital copies of Revelations, 2 sets of the Map Pack 1 DLC, 2 physical EU version Special Editions, and of course, I'll be snagging to sets of Map Pack 2.
That's me, voting with my wallet
@xPH03N1Xx86 Yep; it is.
@JaxonH ............and that is why Nintendo is to blame. Creating a shortage of SE packs letting touts profit from greed, selling their copies on eBay for three or more times the original price. I don't blame the greedy touts who bought three copies, I guess they think they are entrepreneurs.
Yes Nintendo seen what happened in the US and went ahead and did the same thing in the UK. We even have sad folks from the US buying up the European copies just to get the book and poster.
@zool
Sorry didn't mean to rile you up, was just being a smartass (couldn't resist).
But really, SE being limited is what it is. I'd still have bought the games separately even if Id missed it (actually Id probably give in and pay a scalper just cause I love the franchise). Can still grab all 3 for $80. Although seeing as I like physical, that's worth an extra $20 to me. It's not like the games aren't worth the price.
If you want the game Ill sell you the game out of my imported EU special edition. Consider it an act of mercy for a fellow fan. Besides, I just wanted the goodies.
I hope we get an Apotheosis map type.
I'd like to put to the test my endgame units.
@JaxonH that's fine you didn't rile me. Nintendo has.
Thank you for your kind act of mercy If I don't get the SE here before release date I would be interested in your offer. Let me know when your copy arrives and if you don't have a buyer, let me know your price with postage and I will sent it to you, via Paypal if you like.
@zool
No problem. I'll sell it to you if you need one- I wasn't trying to profit off it on eBay or anything.
When it arrives I'll message you and let you know
@JaxonH thank you.
So apparently, there SHOULD be some more DLC announced.
We are still missing the Armor, Wing, and Beast Shield abilities.
You can go online with them so they are intented to be usable by the player.
I suppose map pack 3 then.
