To say we're excited about the October release of Super Mario Odyssey on Nintendo Switch is a bit of an understatement. The more we see of the game the more we can't wait to play it for ourselves.
The Super Mario Odyssey Japanese Twitter account has been a great reminder of what we have to look forward to in the game. In the latest update we can see how Mario can capture Uproots and use them to his advantage:
By capturing these cheeky chappies with Cappy, it's possible to reach high places by stretching their legs and jumping on to a platform. Another bonus is that blocks can be easily bashed this way, so it's a great way to get multiple coins to aid you in your quest.
Let us know what you think about this leg stretching madness with a comment below.

Looks like fun. I was just posting it in the forums. I thought when I first seen him he was an "onion" which wasn't very "appealing" and made me want to "cry".
Rough translation of the Tweets: "This is "Capture Senobi" which captured the new character "Senobi". It is a character image of a bulb. You can see chopsticks in the distance! What?"
"You can move to high places, break blocks and things."
Looking further, "Senobi" means: "standing on tiptoe" or to "stretch".
go-go-gadget legs!! but organic...
I've intentionally not looked up anything about this game since it's trailer release, not one video! I knew it was an instant purchase no matter what, I want the entire game to be a surprise to me, did the same thing for Breath of the Wild, can't wait to play this game, looks like the Mario game I've dreamed about!
Love it. Can't wait
I have been trying not to look at any videos, but seen a few pictures, I CANT WAIT!!!
It looks like a Halloween decoration
I wanna possess my nearby once I got the game !
Can't wait to find out about all the transformations. I bet we've just scratched the surface of what's possible in this game.
Anything that gives Mario the ability to bash multiple coins blocks so unrelentlessly is a lot of fun
Is it October yet?
Zelda BOTW has got some stiff competition for game of the year
The possibility of all these new mechanics combined with Nintendo's great ability to design levels in games is setting up for an epic Mario game.
It still amazes me how well Nintendo and Mario team always come up with great new ways for Mario suit or transformations and the levels/worlds to be done. Hats off to you Nintendo and Mario team
Special thanks to Mr.Miyamoto for all and i mean everything you have graced us as gamers with for pushing envelope going way outside the box and the influences you had on the gaming world.
I will forever bow to you sir
This is one of those games where I wish time away so I can have it asap.
Trouble is, unlike some others I find myself watching 'just one more video' - spoiling it for myself in the process. Gah!
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I tried to polish up your translations a bit so it's a bit clearer
""Capture Senobii" is a new character from capturing a Senobii. The character was made in the image of a (plant) bulb. If you look at it from far away, it looks like a pair of chopsticks?!" (referring to the photo in the original tweet)
You're also right that "senobi" means "standing on tiptoe" or to "stretch" but often it suggests the meaning that someone is trying to reach for something or do something that's beyond their ability. I don't think it's that relevant to this character but just an interesting fact!
We've seen those in the Treehouse segments from around E3.
Horrifying. That face is enough to give me nightmares. (And yes, it's not horror movies that horrifies me, but kids and kid-friendly stuff turned into horrifying images). This game should be PEGI 15. Else I'm not buying...
Jk
We've known about this since E3.
I must say, this game is looking truly special. Think I'll go listen to theme tune from the trailer on YouTube again....
Trying not to watch too much footage cuz I kinda made the first chunk of BOTW...not so surprising for myself. But the small bits I've seen of this - thank god I don't have to wait for a December release.
@amiiboacid No sh!t. That's why the article says, "Odyssey Japanese Twitter account has been a great reminder of what we have to look forward to in the game." Emphasis on reminder, there.
I'm really excited for this game!
Those cheeky things look a little creepy with Mario's mustache.
@okeribok everything is organic nowadays. 😏
I love how Japanese make their games. They look silly most of the time but very unique, enjoyable, fun and out of this world.
