I'm gonna try it out. Probably get as far as I can get into it reasonably, then just leave it on my phone/delete it until new content comes out. Essentially what I do with Pokemon Go.
Good. Very necessary patch. The Brella was disgusting because of the issue so it's great that they addressed it quickly. Now if only they could address the stupid Stingray.
Tbh, I'm not really finding much of the gameplay shown to be interesting, nor the currently shown story.
I like the character creator and the idea of customization, but things seem off when I see portions of the gameplay. It's nice to know that they're saying the game will have enough content and is cheap, though.
Live systems can work well if the game is designed with it in mind. In Mario, I've never found that it contributed much to the experience. So I'm fine with it being gone.
This feels like one of those quantity over quality things, similar to how it was in BotW. While it's nice to brag about numbers, these types of arrangements tend to dull quickly and lose value.
A good question this brings up is what the issue(s) is with having some areas being more dominated by women or men. Not just for this case, but as a whole.
A lot of discussions sort of go in circles with people never really defining the core issues or points of their view.
@UmniKnight More or less just a gut feeling, and the past trends not being very good for Nintendo. I do hope it succeeds. It's always nice to see people get the games and support they wished for.
They're not entirely wrong. The Switch is still young.
"I told Nintendo that Switch wouldn’t be a success before it went on sale because I thought that in the age of the smartphone, no one would carry out a game console." This is a bit weird considering they've been on and supporting the DS line for years.
Evolving and the Pokemon franchise are two things that ironically don't go well together in my head. I would honestly say that I have little faith in the next Pokemon game, but I'm open to being surprised.
@ShadJV I disagree that either of those things would be an issue at all if they actually thought up of simple answers. I've spoken with others a lot over this, so I'm partially tired of talking too much about it.
Personally, I don't have a good feeling about the Switch. I imagine in the future it'll still be a constant debate between people over whether it's an economic failure.
At the moment though, the Switch is very much still a Nintendo console.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Not gonna lie, I expected that from you. Although, it probably has some fair logic behind it.
@Reignmaker Why stop there. There's a lot of things they should do.
For starters, improve the tick rate. It's abysmal at 16, with Splat 1 even being higher. Add options to change weapons within lobbies. Get rid of rotations. Stop locking Salmon Run. Improve matchmaking. The list goes on and on.
The Splatoon devs are being kind of boring lately. Most of the "new" content is just old stuff from the previous game. They haven't really done anything new so far in Splat 2 beyond the occasional new weapon and Salmon Run, and even then, Salmon Run's new gear things take way too long, and is repeatedly locked off.
There's a new update on Friday, so I fully expect dataminers to find more info shortly after that. However, I doubt any of this stuff will pop up for a while.
@greengecko007 Well there's the warm doublet, peppers, carrying fire, traveling by camp fires and simply gunning it. It usually just involves me being creative. For example if you have the fire rod, you could basically use it. The warm doublet recipe is also hinted to you in game as well.
As for the death thing, I'm okay with it since it teaches you the more important parts of combat in BotW and doesn't punish you much at all. I thought of it as a fun way to improve at the game. I consider it similar to how Dark Souls work.
@greengecko007 There's many way to make it through the ice areas with great ease tbh, and the general design of it accommodates for that.
The enemies are also pretty easy and you're not punished at all for losing. I don't see it poorly designed, in actuality it's probably one of the better areas in the game imo.
Not very interested in it tbh. As a person who doesn't have any attachment to Sonic beyond watching his TV show as a kid, none of it looks particularly exciting to me.
From what I've read before, this seems about standard for consoles. The general consensus is that it'll take a couple of years before anything major comes from it.

Re: Exclusive: Game Freak Explains Why We Should All Play Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon
Yeah, too bad XY never got their expansion on. Kalos was just begging to be fleshed out and to actually be polished.
Their response to the second question is also pretty telling.
Re: Action RPG Moonlighter Has Been Confirmed for Switch
Looks really nice. Sort of gives me Stardew Valley vibes.
Re: North America Gets a Neat Halloween-Themed Splatoon 2 Splatfest
Better than the Toilet Paper one. Most of the people I've spoken about the TP Splatfest absolutely hate it.
Re: Snapper Canal Stage and Bamboozler 14 Mk I Arrive This Weekend in Splatoon 2
1.4 update on the 10th or 11th as well
Re: Soapbox: Stardew Valley is a Perfect Fit for the Nintendo Switch
Where dat Hollow Knight at?

The trailer actually makes it looks awesome.

Didn't he like go back on this and say it was mostly a guess? I recall him apologizing for it (not like he had to).
Re: Watch: The Nintendo Life Team Goes for Glory in the Splatoon 2 UK Championship - Live!
Didn't this tourney for some reason use 1.2 instead of 1.3?

Edgehog returns.
Re: Credit Suisse Forecasts 130 Million Nintendo Switch Sales By 2022
Nice to be optimistic I suppose. It'd be a nice bragging tool .

Hopefully that isn't the case though.
Re: Smash Melee Champ Resigns from All-Male Rules Committee To Encourage Broader Representation
@PtM You have a point .
Re: Smash Melee Champ Resigns from All-Male Rules Committee To Encourage Broader Representation
@PtM That's a new point I've heard brought up. Most of the other views I've seen usually revolve around female representation, et al.

Re: Feature: The Switch Report - Six Months of Nintendo's Hybrid System
@electrolite77 I mean more along the downward trend Nintendo consoles have in terms of sales. Except for the Wii, of course.

Re: Splatoon 2 Designer Explains Why The Maps Rotate And Salmon Run Is Time-Limited
Personally, I hate that approach. Like I understand the mentality behind it and such, but it's mostly infuriating a lot of the times for me.
Basically, don't force your way onto people.
Re: Pokémon Boss Didn't Think Switch Would Be A Success In The Age Of The Smartphone
@19Robb92 I know, it just sounds funny when you think about it. Maybe that's just a me thing though.

@hylian-pudding I don't buy that justification, tbh.

This honestly looks really interesting, and has potential. It's basically agario but as a shooter.
Re: Guide: Tips for Winning Splatoon 2's Splatfests
In general, just make sure you don't get splatted in the last 30 or so seconds of the match. It's when it matters most.
Re: Two Of Ash's Oldest Pals Are Returning In The Pokémon Sun And Moon Anime
Misty is still boring and Brock is okay, although the general artstyle used is still pretty eh, imo. Pokemon is still a pretty bottom tier show tbh.
Re: Splatoon 2 Staffer Jordan Amaro Gives Some Insight On His Approach To Game Design
@greengecko007 I'm pretty sure there are some enemy bases scattered near the area with fires on. At least that's what I recall, so I could be wrong.
The Fire Rod can typically be found on the Great Plateau, although they can be a bit rare.

Re: The Sloshing Machine Returns To Splatoon 2 Tonight
@ACK Blasters are still pretty good from what I can gather. In terms of high level play so far, I've seen them used quite frequently.
Re: The Sloshing Machine Returns To Splatoon 2 Tonight
The sub is legit. Autobomb spam is annoying as heck and on its own is probably the best sub at actually pressuring the enemy.
Re: The Sloshing Machine Returns To Splatoon 2 Tonight
@Yasaal Thankfully. The Tri-Slosher is already too good as is.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE let the salt flow through you.

Dangit. The nintendoomers beat me to it.

It'd be swell if Nintendo actually explained themselves. It's aggravating to see them do things and for them to not explain their reasons.

Re: Video: Get a Good Look at Infinite, the New Villain in Sonic Forces
@RainbowGazelle Are they good stories? I've never played a Sonic game.
Re: Video: Get a Good Look at Infinite, the New Villain in Sonic Forces
