Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 2016?

-Green-

They were okay. They really milked Zelda and luckily for them, Zelda is still as loved by people as it usually is, despite them screwing around with it as of late. Next E3 will be the NX's time to shine(?) so they'll probably(/might) do better next year.

@PlywoodStick
" It's not enough to have either great presentation or great gameplay, both are needed in unison to push boundaries."

That's not entirely true. Game's can push boundaries despite not having great gameplay or presentation. A recent example of this was Undertale, which was showered with praise for pushing the boundaries in video game story telling, despite it having bad presentation and average gameplay. Shadow of the Colossus is a relatively old game that was praised for pushing the boundaries of video games being a form of art with its unique art style and good graphics, and is hailed as a masterpiece despite its bad controls and camera angles and its simplicity.

I think a game can push boundaries if it accels in a particular area and is unique enough to be memorable.

@PlywoodStick I don't see how that's the case. Her journey was done because she had to. She needed to complete her journey with Impa in order to protect others. She accomplished what she desired, despite being unarmed and alone at times.

Edit: I think people get to hung up on the part where they're kidnapped at one point and then equate the character to being just a Damsel in Distress.

Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link

@PlywoodStick Come on. Being captured at one single point does not make an entire character a Damsel in Distress. The way I see it, a Damsel in Distress is a character who is entirely characterized by being captured, they're flat, static, blank plot points.

A character doesn't need to be the main character in order to be a strong individual character.

@PlywoodStick She really didn't get captured, she spent the entirety of the game traversing the surface with Impa attempting to bathe in the Goddess' springs while alluding Ghirahim. She had her own journey. It was until the very end that she kidnapped by Ghirahim for a moment so he could steal her Goddess Powers to revive Demise.

Skyward Sword Zelda is legitimately the most developed Zelda in the series. She wasn't just some plot device with no character, the only Zeldas like that are probably the very first ones tbh.

@AlexSora89 It most likely got removed. This site censors comments a lot for little reason sometimes. Your comment probably got deleted during the mass deletion by the mods.

@TheRealThanos Tbh. Personally, I'm not against the idea of restricting guns and/or properly educating people more about them either.

I just don't agree with the idea of removing/banning them entirely. As it heavily violates upon the Second Amendment and one of America's basic rights, and it will just be another case of the majority being punished for the incompetence of the minority.

Oh man, I was actually planning on writing a proper rebuttal to someone.

@Waluigi If it's against the rules to discuss gun laws and politics on this site, then why do the writers constantly write about things such as this and encourage others to discuss?
