@Kirk Like, it's not exactly like a gouache painting, and it's obviously lacking detail but I can definitely see how it's based on it. I think, it's similar to how Skyward Sword's art style was originally based on impressionism.
@rjejr #34 Also, I think it's important to note that they do have quite a while before Zelda is released and that the Demo itself was restricted to the beginner area which possibly had NPCs and Towns removed.
They were okay. They really milked Zelda and luckily for them, Zelda is still as loved by people as it usually is, despite them screwing around with it as of late. Next E3 will be the NX's time to shine(?) so they'll probably(/might) do better next year.
@arnoldlayne83 I don't think it'd be a clear win for Nintendo if they went Third Party, but it would definitely be a win for the fans. Imagine Zelda BotW on the PS4. That would be amazing.
@PlywoodStick
" It's not enough to have either great presentation or great gameplay, both are needed in unison to push boundaries."
That's not entirely true. Game's can push boundaries despite not having great gameplay or presentation. A recent example of this was Undertale, which was showered with praise for pushing the boundaries in video game story telling, despite it having bad presentation and average gameplay. Shadow of the Colossus is a relatively old game that was praised for pushing the boundaries of video games being a form of art with its unique art style and good graphics, and is hailed as a masterpiece despite its bad controls and camera angles and its simplicity.
I think a game can push boundaries if it accels in a particular area and is unique enough to be memorable.
@PlywoodStick Yeah, that was wasted potential. They showed her (and Impa's) journey at the end of the game in the credits, but they could've done more.
@PlywoodStick I don't see how that's the case. Her journey was done because she had to. She needed to complete her journey with Impa in order to protect others. She accomplished what she desired, despite being unarmed and alone at times.
Edit: I think people get to hung up on the part where they're kidnapped at one point and then equate the character to being just a Damsel in Distress.
@PlywoodStick Come on. Being captured at one single point does not make an entire character a Damsel in Distress. The way I see it, a Damsel in Distress is a character who is entirely characterized by being captured, they're flat, static, blank plot points.
A character doesn't need to be the main character in order to be a strong individual character.
@PlywoodStick She really didn't get captured, she spent the entirety of the game traversing the surface with Impa attempting to bathe in the Goddess' springs while alluding Ghirahim. She had her own journey. It was until the very end that she kidnapped by Ghirahim for a moment so he could steal her Goddess Powers to revive Demise.
Skyward Sword Zelda is legitimately the most developed Zelda in the series. She wasn't just some plot device with no character, the only Zeldas like that are probably the very first ones tbh.
It's pointless discussing whether the one on the right is a female, since it's impossible to reach a definitive answer/conclusion at the moment. It's best to simply wait and see at this point.
@AlexSora89 The mods may have just accidentally have erased it in the crossfire. They did erase several dozens of comments rapidly so they may have just erased yours by accident.
@AlexSora89 It most likely got removed. This site censors comments a lot for little reason sometimes. Your comment probably got deleted during the mass deletion by the mods.
@TheRealThanos Tbh. Personally, I'm not against the idea of restricting guns and/or properly educating people more about them either.
I just don't agree with the idea of removing/banning them entirely. As it heavily violates upon the Second Amendment and one of America's basic rights, and it will just be another case of the majority being punished for the incompetence of the minority.
Oh man, I was actually planning on writing a proper rebuttal to someone.
@Waluigi If it's against the rules to discuss gun laws and politics on this site, then why do the writers constantly write about things such as this and encourage others to discuss?
Bayonetta is bay and I adore her character, so it makes me feel a smidgen of sadness to see so much negativity around her, but I don't know very much at all about the Smash competitive scene and don't plan on getting in it. So if the really find the need to ban her for now, then that's fine.
@Clownshoes
Funny that you mention that. When I was originally typing my comment up, I actually questioned whether to even call it a game, and just putting quotes around the word game.

Re: Hands On: Taking a Deep Breath with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
@Kirk Eh, I don't think so. I honestly prefer the gouache style of BotW.

@Kicked2TheKirb OMG. You're avatar is terrifying dude lol. XD
Re: E3 2016: Ubisoft is Confident That Nintendo NX Can Recapture 'Lapsed Wii Players'
@MadAdam81 I prefer the PS4 controller over the Wii U gamepad tbh.

We'll see. If it's another Wii U, then I simply won't support them.

Re: Poll: Did Nintendo Triumph With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3?
The game was a success in my eyes. I really like Zelda and if the NX actually ends up not being another wii u, then I'll buy it in that.
Next year gonna be quite the year for me.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Rules Out The Option to Play as a Female Link in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
@CharlieSmile um. Okay.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Rules Out The Option to Play as a Female Link in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
@CharlieSmile Why not. It looks awesome.
Re: Eiji Aonuma Rules Out The Option to Play as a Female Link in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Emily Roger was wrong.
Re: Reminder: Catch the Sony E3 2016 Press Conference With Push Square
Comparing Sony to Nintendo right now in terms of games, is like comparing the Amazon Rainforest to the Dry Valleys of Antarctica. It's a shame.
Re: Talking Point: Revealing an Innovative Legend of Zelda at E3 Could Provide a Timely Boost for Nintendo
It better be good, it's basically all they got.
Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link
At least everyone's getting hyped up for E3. Sucks we still have to wait until 2017.BS.

Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link
Guys let's keep politics and such out of the discussion before the mods come.
Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link
@PlywoodStick Zelda hasn't been a damsel in distress since like Twilight Princess, iirc.
Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link
@NodesforNoids Current Zelda and Mario stories are not sexist. Simplistic and cliche sure, but not at all sexist.

Re: E3 2016: Nintendo E3 Zelda Badge Appears to Suggest Male and Female Link
It'd be weird seeing Link as a girl, but whatever. As long as I get my hun, I don't care.

It's a shame how some Americans have come to accept the negative stereotype placed on us that portrays us as jingoistic, red neck hillbillies.

Re: Corpse Party Looks Set to Bring Some Mature Horror to the 3DS
@Ralizah I really disliked the anime as well.

Don't buy it, after doing a fair amount of looking into the topic, it just doesn't add up. I'm calling that it's fake.
