Re: Random: Kanye West's Potential Album Tracklist is All About the Wii

Lot of haters in here, huh? Especially nice to see mental health issues being joked about so casually.

Track listing looks interesting. I agree with that one poster in that they're probably just referencing the stuff being sampled, and aren't finalised song titles. Glad it's modern stuff instead of just retro chiptunes, which I like but has become pretty cliché...

Re: Video: A Modern Take on the Virtual Boy is Still a Bit Ridiculous

@Braneman "Now LED's are cheap and having just two lines of LED's to make a VR headset screen would be INCREDIBLE for keeping costs down. Any headset that could use the screen tech in the virtual boy successfully would blow all the other VR headsets out of the water."

That's kind of an interesting idea, actually.

“The Triforce is made up of Princess Zelda, Ganon and Link. Princess Zelda is obviously female. If we made Link a female we thought that would mess with the balance of the Triforce. That’s why we decided not to do it.”

“...if we have princess Zelda as the main character who fights, then what is Link going to do?"

Makes undeniable sense. Also, Zelda is intended to be the medieval folk-tale archetype of the maiden/princess, and we all want our 2016 media to stick close to medieval times archetypes, right? Especially high-profile, top-quality stuff like this.

Finally, most importantly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMdYZG_gdwI

Super-hyped for this game, btw. I hope the switch version has a better framerate, but I really think it looks great as it is

The controls felt off in Starfox 64, too. That, and the dimmed screen makes it pretty much unplayable for me. I seriously thought my monitor was broken.

Does this have those same 'darkened' visuals?

Re: Random: Raspberry Pi Hack Takes The Wii U GamePad One Step Closer To Switch

@HappyMaskedGuy "it only plays games that a Pi can run"

That's a pi 3 in there. It can play more games than you could ever play in your lifetime. It can play NES and N64 games without the awful dull anti-epilepsy filter that the official Wii U VC adds. It can even emulate Dreamcast at a decent rate. I'm pretty sure you can stream your steam games to it from your PC, too.

This is a really cool mod. The gamepad looks almost stock. It'd be nice if they could squeeze a gyro/accelerometer module in there for mouse emulation, and as an added tribute to one of the original gamepad's best features...

Edit: if you could also squeeze in a Bluetooth module and a couple of IR LEDs behind the 'sensor bar' part, you could also re-enable one of the gamepad's dumbest features, too.

@kingdomharms Thanks for sharing this. It /is/ kinda cool and funny. I swear, the commenters on this site are so negative. Remember that hoax nx controller? The 3d printed one with the oval screen? Well on neogaf, the reaction was 'woah, what a wild ride! Ya got us good, fella, nice one.', and here it was 'what kind of idiot would waste our time like this? He should be sacked for using the company equipment!' etc etc.

I like hearing about little details like this. Please don't be discouraged from making another video if you come across anything else interesting while file exploring

Re: Nintendo 64 Emulator Unceremoniously Yanked From Xbox One Store

I'd just like to say that 'freeloading' old ROMs to play on emulators is awesome. That's what PCs, hacked Wiis and other open hardware is for though, not standard console ecosystems. I'm getting a new PC this Christmas, and one of the things I'm most looking forward to doing is running Super Mario Sunshine in glorious HD, with the 60fps hack applied, and possibly even with stereoscopic 3D. Even though I no longer own the disk!

Come and get me, coppers!

Called up to ask about how to get out of the forest of illusion in super Mario world. I was tearing my hair out, trying every pipe, and even jumping down every hole and dying, out of pure desperation. Turns out it was just down one yellow pipe I'd forgotten, towards the end of the level. Called a couple of other times too, but I forget what for. They were always ready with an answer, quick, concise, and no messing about, unlike every other premium rate number ever.

Nintendo Helpline. I'm sad it's gone, even if it is unnecessary nowadays...

UK here, by the way.
