Re: The US Trader Who Bet $400 Million Against Nintendo Takes Huge Hit As Stock Price Soars

russellohh

@BensonUii Benson is correct! That's a short sale.

The guy sold Nintendo stock he doesn't own yet.

Its kinda like if you heard from a friend that Bestbuy was going to start selling the Nintendo Switch for $150 on Sunday, and it currently sells for $300 in store.

So on Saturday you list one on ebay for $250, it sells immediately. You laugh that you're about to make $100. You don't own a switch, but you're confident they are about to go down in price.

You go to bestbuy the next day and find the value of a switch rose, they now cost $400. You already owe someone a switch, so you buy it for 400, ship it to the guy who paid you 250, and you lose $150.

That;s short-selling. Done RIGHT, its an incredibly unethical and really-should-be-illegal way to make money on a collapsing company.

If they mess up, they're out a billion dollars, and suddenly YOUR retirement account they manage isn't doing so hot.

Re: Black Panther Director Is A Big Fan Of Nintendo Switch

@KayFiOS But you don't have opinions, you just whine and pout and shriek of "OMG WHO WANTS TO HEAR ABOUT VIDEOGAMES ON A VIDEO GAME SITE. WHO CARES WHO LIKES GAME AND WHO DOESN'T OMG VIDEOGAMES AREN'T NEWS".

Don't reply. Don't talk. Just leave this site and grow an actual opinion.

Re: Black Panther Director Is A Big Fan Of Nintendo Switch

@KayFiOS hmm , i appreciate your half dozen comments over 5 hours talking about how unimportant this is to you.

I sure hope NintendoLife stops showing us cute, amusing videos of world famous multimillionares discussing their favorite Nintendo products to a reporter who's also a fan, and goes back to posting youtube links from some random 17 year old's rambling review of Zelda. Or better yet, reviews of 99 cent endless runners no one was ever going to buy anyway.

Truly, that's what the world needs.
Maybe you could post on here another 40 times, to make this breaking news article the highest-trending Nintendo article online?

Re: Feature: Our First Steps in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp

russellohh

@patbacknitro18 as we saw with Konami and Capcom in general, once the producers and shareholders see that Animal Crossing Mobile was downloaded 55,000,000 times and brought in an average of $100 per player, they'll NEVER okay devoting millions of dollars to sell 3,000,000 copies on switch. New Leaf is huge, having sold 7,000,000 copies in 5 years.
Pokemon GO made that in an hour. I'm sure they're still making the Animal Crossing version, however, since it seems to already be in development.

@rjejr any portable battery works
any $5-7 USBC cable will charge it when it is plugged in, but depending what you have it plugged into, it might still drain the Switch battery. Apple wall plugs and wall adapters are best, but other ones are also fine.

Overall i spent a total of $12 on Switch accessories and i play it in the car, walking the city and waiting in line at conventions.

@TrixieSparkle copy paste SD card to PC before you begin.
Every few months copy paste SD card to PC and keep one copy there or on Google Drive.

With 5-10 mins of effort a year, it is literally 100% impossible to ever lose more than a few weeks of digital saves.

Re: Review: ARMS (Switch)

russellohh

@RedMageLanakyn true, Uncharted is pretty unremarkable- guy wearing jeans! Hey look a CAR! Nothing I haven't seen in 500 other games. While ARMS stands out, and looks great.
Also, Uncharted runs at 27-30 FPS, while ARMS runs at 60 FPS.

That really is a bit of an exaggeration- maybe Uncharted 5 playing on the PS4 Pro or something would look almost as good as ARMS.

Re: Get Ready for a Pokémon Direct on 6th June

Re: Nintendo Outlines Pricing and Details for DLC in Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia

@Whopper744 when you have Prime and choose 3-5 Super Saver Shipping, you get $1 off your next digital order. That's easy, that's on the bottom of every order when you pick shipping speed. The idea is rather than Amazon two-day shipping you a pencil one day and soap another day, they hold everything a couple days, then do it all at once. If you order ten things in one order, you pick super saver and get $1 off.

If you order all 10 items within 3 days of each other, even within seconds of each other, you get $1 back for each item- $10 total.

If you have a house of 4 people and get random $4 kitchen tools and video games and prepaid cards and socks and cereal off Amazon...

well then.

$22 in assorted credits right now. Do an amazon search for "eshop" or "eshop credit" and the top hit is a digital code.
