Re: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Breaks Series Records With US Launch Sales

@SLIGEACH_EIRE with bestbuy or amazon prime, its $48, instead of 60.

The new modes, new items etc are a bit expensive at $48, but, DEAR LORDI it looks amazing. I loved 8 to death, but an army of managers and coworkers just played it at lunch, 2 people per console. It looks far, far better than it did on the wii u tablet, and better overall. with trade or sell of the wii u version, the upgrade is as little as $16. worth it, honestly.

@JudgeMethos What an idiotic opinion. "People with better time management skills have more free time to play games than I do?! They need to rethink their lives!"

Maybe their kids play. Maybe one kid plays, then the other kid plays, then the adult plays while waiting in line at Disneyland.

Who cares. Just because your a whiney bitter old crap pile doesn't mean the rest of us can't have fun. My entire family plays on our Switch- that 3 hour battery gets fully drained 3-4 times a day.

@Yorumi By all free, you of course mean they take 30% of all sales for life, right? It totaled 3,562,000,000 last year alone. But yeah, "WHY CAN'T EVERYTHING BE FREE FO LYFE" indeed. We'll see if the Switch runs any better with a more expensive system. You know, the wallet-shattering $20 for all of 2017.
My lordi, watching you whimper and beg and cry over a couple pennies is getting sad. Do you have like a paypal where I can donate a few bucks? Even if you were a cashier at walmart, you made enough money during your pouting to pay off 2-3 years of the Switch online network today alone :-

In summary, Wii U online sucks. Switch online might not suck. It'll cost $2 a month. Oh noes.

@Yorumi You're slooooowly getting there. Matchmaking and updates are still on their server- the actual battle is p2p. I don't matchmake by pinging 10,000,000 Wii Us, but by connecting to the central Splatoon server. It being one of ....3...online games anyone plays on the wii u, it just barely works out to be free. The Switch will have more games hopefully, and needs a more robust online system.
For the earth-shattering, debt-creating fee of....20 cents a week.

For a game I'm not paying more than $30 for. That I'll likely own for 5 years.

But yeah man, that couple bucks you're whining about sure will kill ya. Enjoy playing Smash Bros FREE p2p server that plays slower than a gameboy color!

@Yorumi ....that's not what a server is, and that's not what a router is or how it works :- Valve takes a 30% cut of the sale price of every game, in part to pay for its online servers and distribution. Sony and Microsoft take about 4%, so they charge half a buck a week for online. My year's subscription to Nintendo's online service is costing about 20 cents a week. Somehow, I will manage to survive.

Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd February (North America)

@Drac_Mazoku the 3DS is 5 years old. That's longer than the original Xbox, as long as the gamecube, and as long as the n64 before they were replaced. I doubt it has much time left. The original 3DS can't even properly emulate GBA or SNES games, that's how old it is ...

Re: Harvest Moon 64 Heading to Wii U in North America This Week as Part of Anniversary Celebrations

russellohh

@Meowpheel it took out one entire gender- you can't play as a girl, thus removing half the marriage candidates and dating storylines. Considering the fanbase for the series is like 80% female, that was just bizarre. There were a lot of control issues as i recall, but one of the biggest was, they didn't change the dialog or prompts from the GC version- so while the Wiimote was used to wave the fishing rod into place, the game told you to press X or whatever- a button the wii doesn't have. I don't think there was even a gamecube control option, but i could be wrong.

@gcunit magical melody for Wii is by far the worst of the series. Its basically magical melody for the Gamecube, which was already mediocre, with really bad controls and most of the options taken out. Start with $8 Mineral Town if you're going to start somewhere. ITs still my favorite. The N64 one and Back to Nature are each only a few bucks and well worth it as well

Re: Review: Super Mario Run (Mobile)

russellohh

@ProfessorToad man, you've been arguing about how expensive $10 is for nearly 7 hours. If you made even the lower end of the average American salary, you made enough money in that time to buy the game 19 times over. Instead you spent it whining about it :-/

Re: Super Mario Run's My Nintendo Rewards Are Live

@rushiosan its very clearly a digital image, not a physical image. And its for super mario run, a digital only game. Which this article is about. Sooo not at all clickbait, unless you ignored the image, the title, the caption, and just drunkenly saw the words "rewards" and decided DOES THAT MEAN I GET A FREE CAR AND A LIFE SIZE STATUE OF MARIO THAT TALKS?!
