Re: Sources Suggest Nintendo NX Is A Fusion Of Home And Mobile Hardware Powered By "Industry-Leading" Tech

@earthboundlink Its not subsidized. I use a $30 a month unlimited Data/voice/text plan from Virgin Mobile. My phones are 100% paid for by me, and not subsidized into the plan- you can get a 4-core 2 GHz LG Volt or Kyocera Hydro for $40-90. Even the iPhone 5, with all its prettyness, is sub $200 now. A generic android is super cheap. The top shelf specs is also.....suspect? I too think it will basically be a PS4, only with fancy take away stuff. At this point, the Vita can basically do a PS3 game and it looks the same on both- the NX could do a full PS4-quality experience on a handheld, almost. If Nintendo got creative, or ran the same game at lower rates/resolutions etc, i can def see me carrying the low-res version of a game like Dragon Age Inquisition in my pocket- or at the very least, Mario 9 at home and in my pocket on the NX attachment, and Fallout 4/Dragon Age on just the home portion. Honestly, this might be the most excited i've been about a nintendo console in many y ears, and i buy all of them at launch

@abe_hikura I'd assume $100 more than the Wii U was at launch, but not sure. The PS4 is already a few years old- i saw the first dev kit for it in early 2012. My PC is faster and handles most games better than an Xbone, and cost $380. Although 3DS and such are always around $200 at launch, my quadcore Android that has graphics and specs much nicer than the 3DS...costs $40. Essentially, they're so late in the game, and the PS4 and Xbone were already older PCs when they launched, i can see Nintendo launching a system that will compete with those quite cheaply.

Re: Nintendo of America Distributes The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes Demo Codes

russellohh

@crimsontadpoles Ehhh its better this way, i believe, for them. Legend of Legendia had a demo, i'm the only person i know that played it. Does Happy Home have a demo? Did Lugis mansion? (I know the answer, but i bet most people reading this will have to pause and think)

Right now, this website, the facebook, and the twiddles are blowing up with DOES ANYONE HAVE A SPARE CODE
I WILL KNIFE A MAN FOR A SPARE CODE
I WILL LET YOU MARRY MY SISTER FOR A SPARE CODE
Here's my spare codes! who wants em?!?!

Etc, etc.

Long story short? if this were a free, open to the world demo, i might not even bother. But with the expiring codes, fancy playtime schedules etc, you better believe im going home and downloading 3 copies right now. I need 4 more for friends.

ILL LET YOU MARRY MY SISTER AND ILL BAKE YOU COOKIES DANGIT

@rjejr
sb/ cI dontw indeed! And no, you don't use all caps, but you do write many, many posts (12 in a row on here alone!) about the horrors of the $2 map.
Its $2 bucks. The costumes are useless, so no one buys them. If you don't want it, don't get it, don't waste $100 worth of company time or home time rambling about it.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS Version 1.1.1 Is Now Live

russellohh

@rjejr Errr......did you really just say "it can be free, someone just has to pay for it" and "money can come from somewhere" - well, yes, it can.
It comes from this DLC that you're screaming in rage about paying for.
Dude...you've been posting for ten hours now about how you can't possible afford a $2-3 map, and its literally the worst thing of all time, nothing has been added, besides all the content that has been added, some of which you have to pay several pennies for. Do you want me to set up a fund for you or something?

Re: Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS Version 1.1.1 Is Now Live

russellohh

@rjejr All of those games are made by the same office in the same building, so paying $10 for Smash DLC allows them to release free content for Splatoon and Maker. I know you desperately want all content and updates to be free forever, but...no. The maps are $2. The skins are unneeded fluff. If you don't have $2-3 to spend on a new map, then....work harder? Play something else?

Re: Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS Version 1.1.1 Is Now Live

russellohh

@ikki5 Meh. I'm a raging smash bros fanboy, and i have no need for some of these stages, nor most of the costumes. They can certainly list a silly costume for $10, or $20, or $200. I have no interest in buying it. Like you said, a bunch of worthless costumes- buy one map for $2, buy Lucas, and you're good.

Re: Nintendo Partnering with Green Man Gaming for Digital Offerings

russellohh

@MrGawain If they let Greenman run sales the way they normally do, ill own 3x as many Nintendo games. I bought Skyrim and Fallout 3 and something else on GreenMan for $5-7 each, collectors edition- back when those editions were still $50 in the store, and often, $30 on Steam. I think i saw the $80 Metro bundle on there for $10.

Can you imagine getting splatoon, animal crossing, etc for $10?

Re: Nintendo is Now 126 Years Old

russellohh

@Sionyn @Ryu_Niiyama Ryu is correct! Brothels have people who work there for sexy fun time. Love Hotels are a place where you bring your girlfriend or even date. I've also heard of people just renting one out to have a party, since they can be as low as $20 an hour or so. I understand the appeal- i sometimes feel weird singing outloud or having romantic with the windows open at my house, and i only have one neighbor within 300 feet. I can't imagine what its like around Tokyo, where not only do 400 people live within 300 feet, but your mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, and a sister all live in the same house made of rice-paper walls...

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

russellohh

@6ch6ris6 Every person i've spoken to that owns it loves it. Plenty of websites and critics have given it an 8. You may think its a stupid spinoff after all of your time playing it, but its made 40 million dollars in 12 days, and is well loved all over the world. If its not for you, thats fine.

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

russellohh

@Octane
i should have been more clear. Showcase is already one of the fastest selling Nintendo games, and i believe is tied for the fastest selling AC game. Even 20% of Wii U owners buying it would be huge- barely half of U owners own mario kart or smash. As such, even 20% of Wii U owners buying it would be great, but the 3DS can do half that in a week. By the end of this month, Showcase is on track to outsell kart and smash bros total sales in the last year.
Short version: Making it on Wii U would let plenty of people play it, but only a tiny percentage of the number of 3DS buyers.

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer (3DS)

russellohh

@XCWarrior Its already one of nintendo's top selling games (1 million total sales in a matter of weeks!) and people have sunk over 200 hours into it....and it just came out. Also, the cards are 99 cents each, and arent even needed for the game, so.... not really monetization. Nearly everyone is given it a 7-9.

Re: Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions Headed To The UK In December

russellohh

I'm not that big into music (i listen to songs, but i'm bad at remembering lyrics, and just don't care that much) and haven't beaten a pokemon game in 15 years, and yet....balls this was an amazing show. Hearing a 30-50 piece orchestra playing the music while the videos and lights play is a great experience. Especially Lavender Town, if they play it

Re: Talking Point: Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pair Of Hands In Changing Times

russellohh

@The_Dude_Abides And, that Nintendo makes games. Cabot Cheese creamery in Vermont might have a higher profit per dollar invested than Nintendo, but I wouldn't let them become the boss of Nintendo. Nor would I let Gabe, a man who runs a wonderful store, and totally made Half-Life 2 about 60 years ago, lead a development house. When's the last time you bought a Valve game, honestly? 2012? 2007? .....2001? Meanwhile, we have people lined up down the street for Yoshi Yarn/Smash Bros/New Amiibo whatever.

Re: Talking Point: Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pair Of Hands In Changing Times

russellohh

@The_Dude_Abides Sure, as businessmen out to make a quick buck. Valve has released two shooters and a MONA since I was in high school. I'm in my 30s now.

We already have Amazon, BestBuy, and store.steampowered.com. We DON'T need yet another online marketplace.
Nintendo is a game company. Steam/Valve is a retailer now, just like Wal-Mart or Target.

Re: Tatsumi Kimishima Named As New Nintendo President

russellohh

@XFsWorld Balls, I hope not. If the last ten years of top-selling games are any indication, "Twitch Plays Angry Birds" will be the future of all gaming. Nintendo can keep letting grandfathers give us more Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart 200, and Smash Bros Ultra Mega Super Edition for the next 100 years.

Re: 3DS System Update 10.0.0-27 Is Available Now

@JeffreyG I have an army of puppies, and tend to pace while playing. I also live next to a beach. Although I'm MOSTLY careful, it has been dropped into a few liquids, and never had a problem. I can barely look at an Android or iJiggy without it snapping...
