@LetsGoRetro I have over 100 miitomo friends, all but 3 of which are in their 30s and 40s. Most are married with kids. Maybe you're just out of touch with the world?
@sWiTcHeRoO every wii u has anything from 64GB to 2TB. i doubt more than a few dozen people around the world bought it and never bought a memory card or flash drive for it.
@Gridatttack @NinjaWaddleDee Most people did. The people whining about the "censorship"- a single minigame out of a dozen being moved from A to S rank- and a creepy homosexuality joke that doesnt translate well haven't actually played the game. I played one level this morning, and already have 28 A-S rank conversations to go through. The size of this game is insane. I've already put more hours into it than in Fallout 4...

@Manjushri Definitely. I bought all 3 games digitally for $67 on launch, and have been having the time of my life. Some people just don't like Fire Emblem enough to actually...play Fire Emblem. For the rest of us, however, its the most fun in a game I've had in ages!
@NewAdvent I finished Birthright on hard in about 30 hours, but a good ten of that was screwing around in multiplayer. I bet i could do it in 15 hours on normal and maybe 22 on hard. Conquest on Normal is going by very quickly, but on both, I didn't bother with most of the kids- I'll get those while completing the DLC. Full, 100% completion of all DLC, and unlocking all kids, especially if i do each DLC with each faction, will likely take about 130 hours.
@gcunit the games were massively simplified, with a big reduction in color palette, framerate, screensize, etc. They definitely didnt just full on put SNES games on the GBA. Looking at the first digital games on the DSi, even that wouldn't even come close to being able to play actual SNES games.
@lemonjellydude A 16-bit styled game, yes. Actually emulating a SNES on the 3DS is quite difficult, and requires more processing power than the original 3DS has. The original 3DS definitely couldnt handle it. There should be a huge discount for people that already own the game on wii or wii u, however.
@mjc0961 Ehh, $3 fee, takes about 1 minute to do the listing, and shipping it is as hard as printing the shipping slip, taping it to the envelop and putting it in the mailbox. Maybe 5 minutes work for $20. I'm at just under $30,000 ebay sales over the last few years and I wouldn't say I spend more 30 minutes a month on it.
Some of these games are still going for $40-50 on eBay. Might be worth it to sell your copy ASAP and pick it up again brand-spanking new from Amazon Prime or BestBuy Gamers Club for $16
@JaxonH UPDATE. If the dlc says it isnt out yet when you go to play it, go back to purchase dlc, this forces it to check each map individually, THEN they show up as Downloaded and are available.
I'm taking off work or taking a hour break for that fire emblem dlc. It takes WAY too many battles to level up from 19 to 20- over 100 battles for one of my units, vs like 2-3 battles to go from level 12-13 and like 6 battles from 14-15
@NIN10DOXD there are a few reasons for that. The obvious one already mentioned here is fragmentation- there are 14 models of iDevice currently in the market i believe, even counting the S versions and different size browsers. Still, they all run the same two versions of iOS, and those versions are virtually identical- just a few firmware differences. This makes iOS far, far easier to program for in some cases, and slightly easier in others.
The other bit is wealth- yes, 80% of smartie phone users have androids, but Androids run as low as $10 in some areas, and ive gotten a decent quadcore with 32GB memory for $30 brand new. Many people buy cheap phones for their kids, or simply can't afford anything nicer. These people are not spending $100 on coins/stars/energy in mobile games, and are not buying $15 games like world ends with you and xcom- they're buying 99 cent or free flappy or angry birds, and words with friends. On average i beleive, games make 2-3x as much on iPhone as they do for the same number of Android users, and sometimes, its closer to 10x more.
Simply put, as much as flamers want to scream about what is better, its easier to develop for iOS, and you make 3x as much money.
@NIN10DOXD PHoenix Wright, the Worlds ends with you, and XCOM were all made by different developers for 3DS and PC, which came to apple a year or so later- and Android a year after that.
@MoonKnight7 it really really was for Awakening, so i'm expecting more of the same. There were a few awakening maps that were just super hard with nothing else going for them, but others were useful- unlimited money or experience- or tragic- switching timelines and watching your families die in the future- or hilarious- the swimsuit battle.
@leo13 I'm not sure why other people are bothered, either. I picked up Conquest for $12, and its a 20-30 hour game on its own.
The awakening DLC was amazing, tho. One area gave you a lot of money, and one gave you a lot of EXP, which made grinding easier if you wanted to level up one of the kids near the end of the game
Two of the levels added a HUGE amount of dialog, some of which was honestly the best writing ever in a Nintendo game. Adding 2 new classes was nice, too.
A few of the DLCs were incredibly sad- basically you travel into the future where all the parents were killed, and discover some of the kids fighting to the death. In one, Robin was forced to execute Morgan from that timeline, rather than let her kill...............hmm...Sumia and Miriel's kids, i believe? Its been awhile.
Hmmm I'm wondering if i should hold off downloading the new fire emblem til the system is in place. I'd hate to miss out on a butt ton of points buying all 3 versions...
@Calllack i've found that regardless of the individual employee, the nintendo rep leaves a big stack of the download cards on the desk/table near the registers regardless.
@skywake yeah i def don't want DVD playback. I think I've bought maybe 2 DVDs in the last 5 years, i can't imagine buying anymore. You can get a good DVD player for $9...
@allav866 Does it really matter, since we can still play it on the Wii U in wii mode? Adding tablet controls would be kinda nice, but I haven't been able to play Zero Mission at all in years. I was playing Super Mario RPG last night on the Wii U tablet with a classic controller.
@kamifox1 To me, it looks more like a small tablet or a large phone- the only things that fold up anymore are 3DSs and the old game boy SP, whereas every phone is just a large brick now. I've never had my screen damaged, but i have had the LR buttons stop working a few times. Still, in terms of overall size and weight, i find the XL models to be the most uncomfortable
My old game company had a few hundred games on shelves- likely over 1,000. Some were ones we worked on, others were our competitor- if you want to make an open world RPG, its important every member of your team is familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of all the others already out there. When we went out of business, I debated just grabbing a few dozen of the rarer titles, but was afraid some IRS/bank we defaulted to/whatever would come looking for them.
Turns out all of the games were just sold as bulk at an auction at a ridiculously low price.
@kamifox1 those systems are as high as $220. The 2ds is often $70 brand new with game. If someone always plays with the 3d off, they might as well save a few hundred bucks
@xHHHx Oh, competition is great! Sony just isn't capable of it, since the 3DS is at 60 million total sales, the PS4 is a 30 million, and the Vita barely stands at 13 million. Even if the Vita increased its sales by 5 to 1, they'd just barely be even with the 3DS. I truly hope nintendo stays on this road, forever. http://money.cnn.com/2014/01/27/technology/sony-downgrade-junk/ The PS4 is selling better than the Xbone, at least.
@xHHHx That's not a fanboy war, you said Nintendo needs to "keep up". Sony is at F- stock status, and is very close to bankruptcy. Nintendo outsells them 3 to 1. Why on Earth would Nintendo want to do anything Sony is doing? And, plenty of pre-ordered or early-adoption Nintendo games come with free themes or other incentives. Really, however, I think its a good way for people with crappy internet to start playing the game at midnight.
@xHHHx keep up with the competition? The 3ds has outsold the xbone and ps4 combined. Microsoft and sony have absolutely no chance of keeping up with Nintendo.

@Splatburst agreed. Every homebrew or emulated she's hack on the snes looks like garbage. The 3ds just wasn't that powerful

@Tasuki or that have a basic understanding of how emulation works, and realize the old 3DS couldn't have handled it

@rjejr you could, in every day parlance, say app store to mean any store, in the same way you call all sodas coke or call all facial tissues kleenex.
But, legally, google owns the Play Store, Apple uses the App Store, and no one uses a windows phone.
But, they call it the Microsoft Store.
