@KateGray I was thinking this same thing. They couldn't reach back in time to fix the flaws with the first one so they just used a minor hardware revision to do it. The color of this is nice but I can't see myself forking out money for it.

Honestly there's more moderation of the Microsoft Store than the Google Play Store. As a developer, I've seen some of the trash that other devs have attempted to put in the MS Store and MS has denied it, whereas the Google Play Store will just let anything fly. I've had my apps denied by Microsoft before, whereas Google just accepts mine in (though in all fairness I am a pretty well established developer on both).

@Sinton I mean, technically they did with the Wii U. But it didn't turn out well as we all know.

@Ryebread81 this is me as well. Other than a couple of exclusives, I fail to see the point of getting a PlayStation or Xbox when I can enjoy so many games on PC and Switch without wasting money on yet another black or white box.

@Yosher PS2 had two versions: PS2 and PS2 Slim. Plus both black and white editions.

@Mr-Fuggles777 they do, hence why their games are some of the most beloved and highest quality. I wish these fans put half as much effort into creating their own IP as they do trying to steal someone else's.

I owned and still own all 62 books in the original series. I stopped caring when Series 2000 came out. I'm 35 now and they are still sitting in a box in my closet gathering dust. I have a few rare prints and a board game too. So at some point I may have to eBay this stuff.

That being said, I hated the movies and the TV show from the 90s and early 00s. I was more of a bookworm. So I pretty much passed this up

I call BS. My Switch isn't any more difficult to push over after the update than it was before.

Nintendo Switch is selling a lot better than even i thought it would. I predicted it would do about 75% of the Wii but at this rate it will surpass the Wii. Not bad for a game system with underpowered (but still amazing) hardware.

I decided not to pick it up with no local multi-player, no caravan option, and when I found out about the annoying friend codes (which are region locked, making them a thousand times more ridiculous).

This game is a dumpster fire compared to the original. Honestly I wasn't that fond of the original but I had some hope that they'd modernize it a bit and add some content. Instead, they took the best and most memorable parts out, threw in a few metaphorical monkey wrenches and cracked wooden cogs held haphazardly together by duct tape, and released it to the public, knowing all too well that this thing is a joke.

You would think Square Enix would have more respect for a project that carries the Final Fantasy name.

I still want Kingdom Hearts. Playing it portable would be the dream.

I had issues traveling online in Animal Crossing last week. Twice in two different days. The second time I closed and reopened the game and it was working fine. I work in IT and this kind of stuff still gets me scratching my head sometimes. Glad they got it fixed though

@CodyMKW Just because you refuse to see the problem doesn't mean it isn't there. I take care of all my equipment (Switch, computers, controllers, etc) because it's what I do. I work in IT so it just comes naturally to me. And I have experienced drifting on not one, not two, but THREE sets of Joy-Con AND a Pro Controller, all of which Nintendo had to replace for free. And I'm not alone. Get out of here with that "It must be just you not taking care of your stuff" BS. It's not helpful to anyone.

I've had multiple people tell me that I should share my island, and that they really love the layout and the unique-ish locales (Rock Garden, Bamboo Garden, Garage, etc). I have been reluctant to. Maybe I'll have to consider throwing my gates open.

@AstroTheGamosian Also as an American, I'm quite proud of the place I live and definitely don't want it like Australia or Canada (no offense to my Canadian and Australian friends, mind you). There is good and bad in all countries, but overall we are definitely A LOT freer than most countries. If you don't believe me, try living in or even visiting those countries. I have.

That being said, this cake is epic and the neighbor should be commended for diffusing a potentially bad situation and making it a good end. We definitely need more of this in the world, especially now.

@Grandiajet New Horizons is still on the grid. Take a look at the map. It's divided into acres, and this has not changed since the beginning.

That being said I do enjoy the "globe" look but felt like it made more sense in larger places like Wild World and City Folk towns. With the island in New Horizons being so small, it's almost unnecessary, save for consistency with previous entries not including the GameCube version

I wonder how hard it would be for Nintendo to patch in something that basically prevents time traveling more than a day. Or perhaps forcing the local date and time to sync over the internet, even if the Switch clock is altered.

Seems to me that this would take care of the cheating issues. It doesn't affect me personally, but I hate spoilers and I think it would be more fun if people had to find things out for themselves as they were intended to.

This is good news. I find myself wishing we had more buildings in NH. Celeste astronomy lab, Brewster's coffee shop, Happy Home Academy building... These are just a few we could have. There's plenty of room on the island for one or two more venues.

Mine was delayed to Monday the 23rd. No big deal. I can wait an extra 3 days. I was able to buy it for $20 anyway on Amazon so well worth the cost difference as well.

I wonder if I can control my Switch with my wireless Xbox controller using this app. I already have a dedicated Xbox controller for my phone and play Project xCloud every day with it. This would be a simple change of system.

@Rhaoulos it's the same point of every other video game: to play and enjoy. In all seriousness, though, Animal Crossing is a game where the point is whatever you want it to be. You can try to collect everything you can, you can simply decorate and share your creations with the world, you can just play it casually for the home design aspect a la The Sims ... it's entirely up to you. I'm 35 and absolutely love these games. I suggest you try it out for at least 30 days. You won't be disappointed.
