Re: Random: You Can Buy A Fake "Animal Crossing New Horizons" Game On The Microsoft Store For Just $2.99

nintendork64

Honestly there's more moderation of the Microsoft Store than the Google Play Store. As a developer, I've seen some of the trash that other devs have attempted to put in the MS Store and MS has denied it, whereas the Google Play Store will just let anything fly. I've had my apps denied by Microsoft before, whereas Google just accepts mine in (though in all fairness I am a pretty well established developer on both).

Re: Review: Goosebumps Dead Of Night - Survival Horror For Kids That's Far Too Short

I owned and still own all 62 books in the original series. I stopped caring when Series 2000 came out. I'm 35 now and they are still sitting in a box in my closet gathering dust. I have a few rare prints and a board game too. So at some point I may have to eBay this stuff.

That being said, I hated the movies and the TV show from the 90s and early 00s. I was more of a bookworm. So I pretty much passed this up

Re: Director Of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remaster Will "Try To Put Things Right"

nintendork64

@malcire The game apparently doesn't even support itself.

I decided not to pick it up with no local multi-player, no caravan option, and when I found out about the annoying friend codes (which are region locked, making them a thousand times more ridiculous).

This game is a dumpster fire compared to the original. Honestly I wasn't that fond of the original but I had some hope that they'd modernize it a bit and add some content. Instead, they took the best and most memorable parts out, threw in a few metaphorical monkey wrenches and cracked wooden cogs held haphazardly together by duct tape, and released it to the public, knowing all too well that this thing is a joke.

You would think Square Enix would have more respect for a project that carries the Final Fantasy name.

@mesome713 @arkay @arpaktiko Arguing on an article about the possibility of a game coming to Switch that may or may not happen? You people are hilarious.

Yes these are not needs. They are wants. But who cares if someone does or doesn't want something to happen? The publishers and developers are going to make the decision on their own and your pointless bickering is going to change that exactly zero.

With all the crazy things happening in the world right now, what a pointless thing to fight over.

Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 10.0.2 Is Now Live

nintendork64

@CodyMKW Just because you refuse to see the problem doesn't mean it isn't there. I take care of all my equipment (Switch, computers, controllers, etc) because it's what I do. I work in IT so it just comes naturally to me. And I have experienced drifting on not one, not two, but THREE sets of Joy-Con AND a Pro Controller, all of which Nintendo had to replace for free. And I'm not alone. Get out of here with that "It must be just you not taking care of your stuff" BS. It's not helpful to anyone.

@AstroTheGamosian Also as an American, I'm quite proud of the place I live and definitely don't want it like Australia or Canada (no offense to my Canadian and Australian friends, mind you). There is good and bad in all countries, but overall we are definitely A LOT freer than most countries. If you don't believe me, try living in or even visiting those countries. I have.

That being said, this cake is epic and the neighbor should be commended for diffusing a potentially bad situation and making it a good end. We definitely need more of this in the world, especially now.

Re: Random: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Even Looks Amazing On A Toilet Roll

nintendork64

@Grandiajet New Horizons is still on the grid. Take a look at the map. It's divided into acres, and this has not changed since the beginning.

That being said I do enjoy the "globe" look but felt like it made more sense in larger places like Wild World and City Folk towns. With the island in New Horizons being so small, it's almost unnecessary, save for consistency with previous entries not including the GameCube version

Re: Random: Reggie Tells Fans He Would "Never" Time Travel In Animal Crossing

nintendork64

I wonder how hard it would be for Nintendo to patch in something that basically prevents time traveling more than a day. Or perhaps forcing the local date and time to sync over the internet, even if the Switch clock is altered.

Seems to me that this would take care of the cheating issues. It doesn't affect me personally, but I hate spoilers and I think it would be more fun if people had to find things out for themselves as they were intended to.

My two cents.

Re: Switch Is Still The Best-Selling Console Of 2020 In The US, Tops February Charts

nintendork64

@SwitchForce He didn't remove the pandemic department. The department that was cut had NOTHING to do with pandemics. The cuts only applied to CHRONIC DISEASES (Source: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-cut-cdc-budget/)

The cuts also haven't even gone into effect yet because the budget proposal is still pending. Seriously, not sure what conspiracy website you're getting your information from, but take a little time to do some research.

Also, he closed the border, as mentioned, way back in JANUARY, which is BEFORE the Coronavirus is known to have come to our shores, and you lot called him racist for doing so.

Re: Switch Is Still The Best-Selling Console Of 2020 In The US, Tops February Charts

nintendork64

@SwitchForce It originated in China. China kept it under wraps for weeks and didn't isolate and contain it before it spread elsewhere. Therefore blaming China is completely warranted.

You just seem to want to blame Trump for everything. It sounds something like "I'm upset with my life. But rather than change it for the better, I'll just blame Trump because blaming myself for my own problems hurts too much."

It's not very becoming.

Re: Review: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - An Accessible And Addictive Masterpiece

nintendork64

Honestly, I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm getting it on Friday.

@T7Hokage017 third paragraph from the bottom discusses local co-op.

@Rhaoulos it's the same point of every other video game: to play and enjoy. In all seriousness, though, Animal Crossing is a game where the point is whatever you want it to be. You can try to collect everything you can, you can simply decorate and share your creations with the world, you can just play it casually for the home design aspect a la The Sims ... it's entirely up to you. I'm 35 and absolutely love these games. I suggest you try it out for at least 30 days. You won't be disappointed.
