Re: Mortal Kombat 11 To Receive Reward System Tweaks After Player Backlash

@RyanSilberman Oh! I get the frustration of NetherRealms approach to this aspect, for sure. It's definitely shady. I just feel like more and more nowadays, the community is focused on pretty much everything BUT how fun the game is. I guess I just long for days past... when we'd be exchanging button combos for Scorpion, instead of in game currency.

Re: Forgotton Anne Makes Her Way Onto Switch On 9th November

This looks really great! I hadn't even heard of this before, and sadly probably wouldn't have even watched the trailer had SquareEnix not been involved. Whew! It's too easy for amazing games to slip by on the Switch with the amount of them being released each week! (Though I'm definitely not complaining, keep em coming!)

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Maddening Stance On Retro Gaming Is Driving Me To Piracy

Sorry, but I totally disagree with this approach of..."Since I can't purchase this retro game on my current system, I'll just steal it."
For the past 11 years you have been able to purchase from a huge library of VC games on the Wii. With that opportunity closing, it still leaves the WiiU, 3DS, Nes Classic and Snes Classic as current viable options.
Justify piracy all you want, but the IP holders of these retro games deserve to be paid when you play their games.
I really don't see how a Nintendo fan site can seriously condone piracy.

Re: Sega Announces AGES For Nintendo Switch, Mega Drive Mini Console

At first I was bummed we didn't get the sega collection they announced for other systems...But now with M2 at the helm, I am really excited to see what they can do! The work they put into the 3d classics range was incredible and brought new life into those games. Things like HD rumble, split joycon support, etc... for games like Phantasy Star or their arcade games could be really great.

Re: Nintendo's Damon Baker Explains Why Some Indie Devs Are Refused Access To The eShop

I think their approach has been working really well so far on the Switch. A large portion of the games that get released look at the very least "solid" to me. It's such a huge improvement in quality compared to the 3ds and WiiU indie releases.

One thing I hope that gets improved is the way we're able to find all of these great games on the Switch. I have a hard time keeping up with everything that's released each week, and I feel there are alot of titles I miss out on. Thankfully sites like NL keep me in the loop!

Re: Rumour: Sumo Digital's New Kart Racer Focuses Solely On Sonic And Friends

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Good points... I agree. I also think since Mario Kart 8 DX is a port, and at such an early state in this console's lifespan, we could see a new "Kart/Racing Franchise" begin on the Switch. Maybe one that sees Nintendo utilize all of their IP as in Smash. Along with that, a new line of amiibo of their stable of characters in karts. Mario Kart began incorporating some other IP already, but I wonder if it might make more sense to start a new franchise instead.

Re: Review: Radiant Historia: Perfect Chronology (3DS)

I was unsure about whether or not I'd double dip on this until I played the demo. The voice acting is really well done, and the new event illustrations add extra oomph to the scenes. I also wanted to compare the graphics, so I immediately played the DS version after the demo. I was really impressed with the step up in the 3DS version. IMO, it's comparable to HD versions of last gen games (such as Twilight Princess HD on WiiU). They did a great job with this enhanced port, and I HIGHLY recommend it to all JRPG fans.

Night in the Woods looks really intriguing! I've also been on the fence about double dipping on Radiant Historia since I already own the DS version. Hopefully the demo will help me decide!

(BTW, for any JRPG fans out there who have never played Radiant Historia, I highly recommend the game. It's one of my favorites and deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger)
