I would love to see Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2, as well as the rest of the older Trails games come to Switch. It's so weird we have part 3 and 4, but not the first 2 Cold Steel games (in US/Europe).

Been wanting to play this game for a long time! Cannot wait!!!!! Here's hoping for a FFTactics remaster too! Or better yet...new entries in both series!!

It looks good to me! Personally, I think the industry has gotten so caught up in things like fps and resolution. I grew up on MegaMan and TMNT stuttering to unearthly fps and lagging when too many enemies were on the screen but still loved it.

Whoa! That looks incredible! I hadn't even heard of it before today. Reminds me a bit of Rime too, which I loved.

@peppaz You're free to do what you want with the game within the confines of Nintendo's permission, which I'm pretty sure doesn't include playing the game through unofficial means on non Nintendo hardware. If you're confused, maybe shoot them an email and see what their stance is. Just because you purchased a Mario on the original nes doesn't entitle you to the wii eShop download or the Switch Online version or any other ... the same goes for 3DS and any other game platform or developer. They give you certain rights when you purchase it that is entirely up to them, not you.

@mariomaster96 I can totally see that reasoning. It's really the people who never purchased a 3DS, Wiiu or whatever, never bought any of those games during the years they were available...but then use game preservation or Nintendo's "bad retro policy" as a reason to play those games for free on an emulator...that's what I have issues with.

Sigh, it must just be me...but all I see when I read the word emulation is piracy. People chalk up game preservation or whatever as the reasoning, but geez...just buy a 3ds, buy the games. It was widely available for like a decade. Support the developers, emulation like this just robs them of what they are due, and hurts chances of future projects from them.

I think this year broke tradition with Nintendo opting for a Partner Showcase where their big June/E3 Direct usually was, so I don't think a September Direct is a guarantee. As much as I'd love ports of WW & TP, I cant see them releasing them so close to BoW2 unless BoW2 is no longer a Spring 23 release. My guess is we get a Direct mini or game specific Direct, but not a Zelda blowout.

That stinks about the grandpa dying and told if they went to the funeral, there would be no job for them. That stinks. The other complaints though, about contract employees not getting full time benefits and not being able to move up...ummm, that's the nature of contract work. And work is well...work. It can be stressful. Alot of these "issues" making headlines seem to be borderline "click-bait". Which I guess worked, since I'm taking time to actually write a comment.

I dunno... some of this seems to be just commonplace in the work industry. Like, I've worked plenty of part time jobs or done contract work without any benefits. It kinda just comes with the territory, hence the benefits of full time status. Additionally, those benefits cut into your net pay, so there's a trade off. You're told what you're getting and not getting when hired at any job, contract, part time or full time... so I don't get why this article and Kotaku's is making such a big deal out of it?

Love this feature, such a great idea! I've been trying to get better at actually playing and beating the games I buy, rather than just hoarding them like a gremlin.

I love Paper Mario on N64! Add in FZero and the Banjo games and I'm even more tempted to take the plunge. I don't think the price is justified yet, but I'm hoping as more titles (and hopefully systems like GBA or GC) are added, NSO will get there.

I am so happy I made the upgrade from my launch Switch to the OLED. I was on the fence about upgrading until I saw comparison pics and took the plunge. It breathes new life into the system and makes games look much better IMO. Loving the larger screen size.

I'm more curious what on Earth they've been working on since the original DKC:TF???

Lol, I came here to make sure I wasn't just missing something from the announcement. Soooo, no 4K or any processing bump? It looks great, but not enough of an upgrade to make me ditch my current Switch.

I found out about so many games I would've missed had it not been for you all. It seems reviews now are heavily outweighed by soapbox/clickbait/rumor/etc... Second, please have more reviews, less soapbox/clickbait/rumor/etc...

@Grumblevolcano I think Microsoft buying them would definitely be a great move for them, but I don't think it would affect Bayo or SMTV coming to Switch. Both have been in development for Switch for several years, and Microsoft has already honored several other purchased studios' prior commitments. If anything, they'd just no longer be exclusives to Nintendo.

If it's another Fire Emblem character, I will do what every other mature adult would do in this kind of situation...and whine.

@WrongChops Now that you mention it, I have a feeling this is what was being referenced. An SF4 port with some extras. Which, I definitely wouldn't mind at all! (Though, still gonna hold out hope for SFV...and MVC3 and Darkstalkers while we're at it!)

Lol...So I must be alone. I like the Switch's simple and clean home menu. Though I definitely agree I'd like the option to see all my games by default, rather than clicking "all games". But I prefer the menu t the ones on my PS4 and X1. Just my opinion, don't raze me.

@Tyranexx I agree, I think they're going the route of FF and DQ, and this being an entirely new story/world/characters. Which I'm totally stoked about. Though I really liked Bravely Second, I'm glad to see the dev team isn't going to be trapped by the same set of characters or story, etc...

It's a shame that the many programmers, artists and countless other people who had absolutely nothing to do with the terrible political move get trashed on. There are people working at Blizzard who were probably just as upset as the general community when they found out what went down. Lumping them all together is well, kinda short sighted imo.

Man, that's awesome to hear Virtuos played such a key role in getting this on the Switch! They and Panic Button do such amazing work!

@alexybubble Nis America is on the front cover of the PS4 versions, so I'm guessing at least in the US they're the publisher. I don't know their role in development though.

Danganronpa Trilogy for Switch! (I hope!)

This is a great branch off of the Switch. I think the price point is perfect for parents who will be looking for a Christmas gift. Also, I think it will attract PS4/X1 owners who perhaps aren't interested in playing the Switch docked.

Man...I used to love coming to NintendoLife. Lately though it seems like there's just more and more articles intended to spark controversy or click-bait. This article is 100% speculation from a guy in a video... during E3 no less. There's doezens of games that could be covered, but instead there is this one sided article. I really hope NL goes back to what made me such a fan of this site...focusing on game reviews and previews.

@Stocksy Yeah, I got that same impression. It's just this bandwagon that people seem to be jumping on without even playing it themselves.
I decided to go ahead and buy it and...I love it! I've only been playing it handheld so far, but it's running great. Having a game of this scope in the palm of your hands really is amazing. I encourage others out there to give it a go if you're into adventure games.

I've been hearing such conflicting things about this, but am really wanting to pick it up. Pro reviewers seem to be consumed with if it's sub 30 fps, whereas customers seem to be enjoying the heck out of it. I really miss the olden days, when reviewers concentrated on other things besides fps and resolution.

I'm fine with there being no motion controls. I didn't even use the gyro option in the RE Revelation collecton. I think the port of all 3 of these upcoming RE games look amazing and have em preordered! Can't wait to play!

This game is awesome, and much better than I initially hoped for. I actually like the 16:9 filter for the 16bit games. Also, Konami has been consistently calling this the FIRST Castlevania collection, so for those wanting SoTN or the GBA games, those are probably on their way too!

@DarthFoxMcCloud I'm doing the same! Both Maker 2 and AC are prime candidates to be digital. And the vouchers are a nice way to save some cash.

I plan on picking it up this weekend, though there is so much coming out to keep up with! I second your opinion on Hellblade btw, that game is amazing. I took so many screengrabs on my Switch, and sometimes would just stop in awe of what they accomplished on it. Whew. Great game!

I'm thinking perhaps an upcoming Nindie Direct is what they're hinting at? It would make sense to have one before E3's Direct.

This is an awesome feature I'd love to see happen more often on NL. Personally, I'd love NL to focus on just games/review/preview type features, instead of some of the "hot topic" type editorials. Change the community, only you have the power NL! 😉

Wow! These look SO much better!! Like...I really hope the producers take a look and do a redesign, at least with the eyes.

They released an update 2 days ago, and the game is running really great! Haven't had any crashes, it loads up faster, some new content was added (more move list info, character tutorials), and other nice improvements. I am really really enjoying this game!

Is anyone else having issues playing MK when waking Switch out of sleep mode? I'll get an error saying "connection to MK server lost because system entered sleep mode". The only way I can reconnect is to close game and relaunch. But then I lose rewards accrued. Anyone have a fix or encountering same thing?

@Ludovsky Oh for sure! Pokemon is gonna sell like hotcakes, and definitely be a system seller along with Animal Crossing.
I was referring to BoTW and Metroid Prime in that they're a bit edgier/darker/mature in their appeal.
