Radiant Dawn basically never coming outside of a miracle is a shame, they make a proper duology. They can get Wii working if they try though, I’ve been playing Dolphin with my joy-cons and it works pretty well.

@Kid_Sickarus I can’t think of anything Fates did better than Awakening. The cast didn’t feel particularly memorable outside of a few select characters and the story was oftentimes painful because of the number of routes making motivations incredibly muddled to justify why they won’t listen to reason in each of them. The sheer contrivance of a lot of the conflict in Fates goes beyond simple plot convenience, its fanfic levels at times. Gameplay wise, it’s just OK, but the child unit justification was incredibly weak and again felt like them trying to use features from Awakening that actually had narrative purpose there. Fates is probably the least inspiring FE game out there, everyone remembers it for Camilla’s design but I don’t know a single person who’s went to seek out their old 3DS to replay it, it’s just not really worth the effort.

@cedarhyped Who cares? If everyone had the exact same opinion on here then it would be even more dull than it already is thanks to the relentless toxic positivity. Personally, I think Three Houses is a huge step back from earlier entries. But I can’t deny that it impacted the general direction of the series in a way that Engage did not, considering the next one coming out is an obvious attempt to recapture Three Houses’ glory (and sales) with them showing Sothis front and centre in the trailer. That’s not even controversial, just basic economics. Since Three Houses released, they’ve been relentlessly pushing their Gacha crap on mobile, made another mobile game that was panned and made Engage which sold about a quarter of what Three Houses did. That is a complete failure to capitalise on recent success.

@JR150 Three Houses was 6 years ago. Engage did not even come close to a fraction of that game’s impact. It’s not controversial to say that the series is going through a lull and this new one has to be a hit.

This sort of stinker is indicative of the general reputation of Fire Emblem these days. Somehow went from barely localised niche strategy game to a series that sold pretty big numbers and now it’s become a bit of a punchline between the Smash Bros roster and the awful VTuber designs.

@SilverM Fake news. 100% completion adds more tracks to the radio but only if you’ve already unlocked the radio with the Amiibo. It’s locked behind it.

I can’t believe anybody is taking this seriously for starters but yeah, £10 for something the Wii or even Wii U would have included for free is ludicrous. Look at how much free software the 3DS came with!

Ehhh was never a fan of the other human characters. Prefer them to be aliens or to just be full on isolation. Feels like it’s erring slightly closer towards Other M than the main series.

My sister got this, Harvest Moon DS and Nintendogs with her pink DS Lite and that had to be about 2006 I think, cause me and my brother got the Wii the same year. Funnily enough, our mortgage was with Northern Rock and a year later we were homeless and the parents were getting divorced. Always read into overly generous Christmas presents kids!

This game is amazing. The port does not sound amazing.

The EU version has better voices than the US version too. You get Luke from Professor Layton saying “Inerzoomer Eleven”.

@Dr_Wright Being able to actually ride the rides was worth going 3D imo. None of the later entries even come close to the first 3 anyway.

Yeah, this is what I expected when they hinted at some changes to the story. It’s a pretty bold move for the genre what becomes of Kiefer in the original. So of course here’s a remake that changes things.

It’s a kids movie. Just put out a trailer and be done with it.

20 years is mental to be fair. I’ve been here about half of that because ONM’s death was my pathway here but it’s still the best Nintendo site out there!

Difficult to decide between this and Wild World for my favourite AC soundtrack. Probably my favourite game in the series though, NH felt like a step in a direction I’m not fond of, and the mayor powers in NL were right on the line of what I really want the player to have control over in their town. You’re a resident living life in the town, that’s what the series should be, a collective group of villagers as equals.

Anyone who buys this needs their head checked.

Hm. I worry that this will become a PS5 situation where tiny upgrades become a substitute for new games. By now they should really have been working on the next game for a good while.

Rune Factory 4 is up there with my favourite games of all time. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for this.

One a year. Only spare income I have is around my birthday and that’ll usually go on one new game. Anything else is either borrowed copies from friends or through PS Plus.

@Dang_69 You’re completely right, a lot of the image and video-generating models have been trained on Disney, Pixar and Ghibli so there’s a distinct style emerging of AI generated cartoons in that they owe their DNA to plagiarised Pixar movies. I reckon the Spider-Verse/TMNT Mutant Mayhem art style is going to be the major human-driven style of the next decade of animation. A more sketchy/rough style appeals to the human spirit more than rounded corners and soft colours in an age where you get bombarded with that distinctly AI style.

Having not played the remake, I didn’t even realise they changed the soundtrack. Really should dig out my original copy. I sold a bunch of games a couple weeks back because yes, things are getting that bad, but I’m not completely confident that the Cube discs aren’t too scratched from 25 years worth of storage and mistreatment from an idiot (me) to really be sellable in good conscience. Shame too, this and Skies of Arcadia Legends would probably fetch a few bob.

@Ogbert Water consumption too, it’s an incredibly thirsty industry considering the returns. It’s possibly the biggest folly that humans have ever pursued, driven entirely by the greed of a small set of billionaires that want to impose this on the rest of us and ruin as many lives as possible.
