So awesome! Can’t wait to play it. Kinda a bummer Nlife is lowering the metacritic potential compared to other reviews! Somewhat surprised there, but 9 is still… wonderful:)
I’d rather a monthly or quarterly. Love getting my game informer each (most?) months. Nice to have something tangible and something to look forward to in ye ol mail box each month
Thought it was sad that this wasn’t mentioned in any of the Direct recaps I watched. Shoulda had more buzz for sure. I really liked the first one but to be honest didn’t have the patience for the difficulty and really didn’t want to restart battles after losing ha. I’m too old to spend an hour+ on 1 battle! So not sure I’ll get this one. Glad it’s good tho!
Ok, nerdy question here. Wonder if anyone has any thoughts on! If you get the digital bundle, will you have 2 separate icons in your library or 1 for both? Guessing the physical cart will be just 1 icon rather than 2. It’s silly but even tho I prefer physical for major 1st party releases (guess this isn’t technically major anyway lol) I’m just thinking about how I’d rather see each game on its own in my library rather than 1+2 together and 3 and 4 on their own.
Thanks for the interview NL/Kate! I of course agree that real world experiences are the most important. But in a realm so overly saturated with insensitive disconnect, we could use all the entertainment media we can pushing a caregiver narrative. I never thought I could be a real caregiver, then when my partner got ill, I rose to the occasion. And now know what it means to truly show up for someone. Happy that this sort of game can help normalize death and loss and illness, and hopefully inspire people to want to be there for others.
@Quarth wow I had no idea there were 4 endings. I’m about 25 hours in and loving it.
Love his art style too. The cover art is so great. I hope he continues with the team! Wish his style was integrated into the actual character models for BD2. I really don’t like their proportions (and I love me some big head classic rpg style)
I’m about 9 hours in and really loving it so far~ thanks for the v basic tips Nintendo haha at this point all things I should know but good for brand new players for sure.
@Troll_Decimator haha so true. It’s funny because I think since it’s such an established franchise, and most of us first heard the name when we were so young, the generic naming doesn’t feel so basic. It has the impact of the series behind it.
That said, I’m not bothered by Triangle Strategy. If you ignore the obvious, literal meaning it can take on it’s own energy just like FF did.
@BenAV Dag that does suck! Though not trying to be a jerk, it’s funny how a one day delay can really bum one out (myself included). Ya gotta admit tho, not too harsh of a “trouble”
Just got my copy, can’t wait to delve in but must work first haha
Just got my copy! A little weary of the heavy focus on dialogue, but feeling ready to dive into an epic tale and am happy it’s voice acted so I don’t have to read everything!
Feeling the same as many here, with the whole not enough time for rpgs these days kind of life. But, that said, I’m so looking forward to this one. I loved the Messenger (tho it did become a bit of a slog towards the end for my liking), and this one looks to be just as special. Perhaps one of the rare rpgs I’ll make time for!
@DBTheHumbleSavage haha what a great break down. You’re definitely not alone. I only played the one on wii back in the day that was multiplayer focuses, can’t remember the name but it was a decent time. But I agree! Really not into the Rabbids. Tho I must say in Kingdom Battle they weren’t tooooo annoying. Really came close, but I had a good enough time!
Finally beat Mario + Rabbids so now to complete Dread, Shovel Knight (finally picked it up) and continue my trials in Hades (finally picked it up!). Also some Brain Age, Animal Crossing, Ring Fit and Fitness Boxing. And always some Tetris!
@nkarafo I remember reading graphical elements took a hit on Switch so maybe this upgrade will bring it more inline. I love this game and do like that it’s on Switch (my main console), but agree @jayj that it’s not quite a perfect fit and does align w PS more, while 99 feels so concise and focused for the handheld experience especially.
@quigtendo yea! I sold mine (2nd edition) on Craigslist for $250. So $100 for the upgrade was totally worth it for me. Looks great and I love all the little additions. also the joy con connection is not wobbly like my old one. Plus you get a joy con refresh , which new ones cost $80 so considering that it’s a good deal.
@Spiders I allllmost completely agree. I really wanted to love it. And it’s so close to being loveable for me. Just wanted a bit more, substance as you said. And as the review quote mentions, it’s a bit tooo vague. Still a cool piece of art. But not enough to keep my interest sadly.
I jussst started playing again last night but didn’t delve into any of the new stuff. It felt like not much had changed, but then again I didn’t unlock Brewster, cruise w Kapp’n or design any homes yet.
I did see my girlfriends house, who I’m parting ways with and it made me so sad. I just got the OLED, and thankfully I realized just before selling my ol switch, that I’d need to transfer her account to the oled just so I could delete her character and house. Which meant I needed to make a Nintendo account for her too. Laborious process for a tragic real life event. Do not recommend. But such is life.
Looking forward to revisiting Happy Club with new eyes, I’m sure it’ll help heal my heart.
@luke88 I was wondering about these questions too. Also wondering how easy it is to set up games with your friends and how it works to then pause and quit the game to return later?
Are people actually complaining that this is $30? Seems fair to me! Still unsure whether I’m going to give it a whirl but I love the simplicity concept. And yes! As some have mentioned- the imagination it will require!
Not my pick, but real happy for all the fans who voted. And I just love Sakurai. His humor is so good. Such a good spirit! Gonna miss his presentations.
Wow so there will be 7 chapters or 5!? Either way, hmm I was going to wait but given how long between 1 and 2, I might as well play as they release. How are they making money tho, I’m perplexed!?
