Original story [Tue 5th Oct, 2021 02:45 BST]: Next time you're back at camp in Monster Hunter Rise, why not take some time out to play some Tetris 99 on Nintendo's Switch Online service.
This weekend, the battle royale block battler will be hosting a special Monster Hunter-themed event. It begins on 8th October and will run on 11th October. If you do decide to participate and happen to earn 100 event points, you'll have the chance to unlock a unique theme.
It's worth noting this seems to be the first theme based on a third-party release. While Monster Hunter Rise was classed as a Switch exclusive originally, more recently it's been confirmed for the PC.
This announcement follows on from Capcom's recent Nintendo Direct news - revealing Monster Hunter Rise will be receiving a massive paid expansion. It's the "Sunbreak DLC" and will be arriving in Summer 2022.

Still waiting for more past themes to become purchasable with standard tickets.
I'd love the Miitopia and WarioWare themes, but I wasn't going to subscribe to NSO for that alone (because there's frankly bugger-all else worth subscribing to NSO for).
The only theme I really wanted I now have and Fire Emblem was worth the 30 tickets. Waiting for the inevitable Metroid Dread theme now...
I love collecting Tetris 99 themes, always a great reason to boot up the game and play a few rounds.

@Tandy255 : I was hoarding tickets for a while. I’ve currently unlocked everything available at the moment and have 62 extra tickets. I couldn’t be bothered earning more though (as there are a little more than just two other themes missing).
Why is this not Metroid Theme? And how the hell should I get the theme, when im playing Dread the whole weekend?

Metroid Dream Theme: I suppose I'll get my chance another day.
Like others have already said I'm very surprised this isn't a Metroid Dread theme. I would have expected a Monster Hunter Rise theme to be featured the week of the base game's release OR the week Sunbreak was announced. Then Metroid Dread this week. Oh well I really enjoy these either way so I'll be all over whatever they are.

Obtained the theme last night. Music used is Shrine Ruins, Magnamalo and Proof of a Hero respectively. I kinda hoped they used the Rampage theme (maybe for remaining 50 players?), but alas. Background looks cool though.
Nothing like a little Tetris 99 as a break from Tetris Effect. 🦆
@Ralizah All we need for the perfect Tetris month is game boy with classic tetris to unexpectedly be announced for NSO.

I know Metroid Dream just came out and Metroid Prime 4 is allegedly on the way, but it feels like Nintendo is ignoring Samus again. Even WarioWare and Ring Fit got themes, but not Metroid?!
