@inenai thanks for the suggestion, yea I’ve gotten my girlfriend to play a tiny bit of Mario Tennis and Party, but she just really doesn’t like digital media much at all. Just feels too unnatural to her. I’m trying to sway her with Animal Crossing next month, so we’ll see how that goes!

I wish my grandma / mom / girlfriend / any lady in my life played Nintendo haha - this was such a sweet story. The fact that she mailed it in is glorious.

Looks like a fun diversion but definitely not stoked for wonky controls or backtracking... It’s a shame, I love the heavy joy con / co op focus.

The vibe of the generic all American family is kind of disappointing to me, but it is awesome to see a game really take advantage of the joycon features! (I personally love the con, have never had any drift issues, but they definitely seem to wear out too quickly for my liking.)

I love the concept of real world positive change thru dlc. They also did a similar thing with EQQO. I’m hoping more publishers follow suit.

I thought Lydia was cool, just wish it had a little something more to the engagement in the game. Basically just a visual novel which is fine too. The voice of Lydia got annoying quickly for me tho, could’ve added a few more variations to the babababa ..

Also, not stoked about no island transfer in AC. I really want a Lite but this is sorta a deal breaker which bums me out a bit. That's a sexy pink though..

@TimboSlice I here ya, but this one is definitely worth paying full price. Especially with the incoming DLC being free. One of my favorite indies, tho the story’s a little tooooo dark for my liking the aesthetic makes it more palpable.

Not trying to rain on anybody’s parade but from what I’ve played (the demo) this was one of the most boring experiences I’ve had with a game on my Switch. I ended up using the auto play feature I was so bored. What’s the point? I was bummed bc it looked cute and could’ve been something special. Really seems aimed at a young audience which is all good.

I just bought the game plus the DLC , which for those who haven’t looked yet- plants you a tree in the game, and in real life!

I also purchased the $1 DLC for Lydia which gives you a coloring book in game, while the money goes to the non profit- Fragile Childhood.

Didn’t realize Lydia was from the same publisher till now. Awesome.

This is such a great concept for DLC @Nakana_Mika. It’s awesome that you’re supporting such positive change in this wild world. All the little things count.

What a beautiful change of pace it would be;) I’ve still never played Fortnite and never will but I could see BOTW being a perfect come down drug.

With big first party games I always buy physical as well but I’m going digital for this one so it’s always easily accessible ☺️

@DK-Fan I think/am hoping what they meant was you can’t buy new vouchers in NA, but can still use one on AC if you got one left from before. I was doing the same thing, saving my 2nd voucher, as this is one game that will stay in the system..

Nice- looking forward to some co op campaign action with my brother! I’m only at chapter 2 of the 1p campaign. It’s been fun so far but I definitely see how the difficulty ramping up somewhat unfairly in later levels is going to be a big bummer, as it definitely is a time suck already without having to restart missions..

The main thing I just can't wrap my head around is how the heck you're supposed to upgrade your Switch to a Pro or Lite or special edition OG or whatever without losing your AC data..makes no sense at all..

@FatNate I dno, some people definitely do tho. I’ve been tempted to have both for a while as I think it’d be cool to have another slightly more portable system with a d pad. Plus my reg Switch (new model even) is kinda wonky/loose connections to the cons. What about when we inevitably upgrade to a Pro?

What if you have a Switch and a Lite? What if your system breaks? Not a fun prospect..

I feel like Nintendo neeeeeds to hold onto any sort of modern action ips it’s got (ie this one and like ... Bayonetta).

I’ve read so many good things about these games, but I just don’t feel the look and vibe of them enough to give em a chance .. I’m sure I’d be a quick convert as soon as I started playing tho ha

I bought it immediately, tho I do agree that it’s a bit preemptive considering we know nothing of who these fighters are.. That said, I have a feeling they’ll all be fun to play at the least. Plus as others have mentioned, getting all the stages and music really makes the cost worth it to me. And how could you not want a completed roster!? (This is all optional bonus content remember;)

That mii costume bonus on the other hand.... wouldn’t say that makes a preorder worth it, they could’ve at least added a couple more costumes to sweeten the deal. It’s basically .75cents off as that’s the cost of the mii dlc lol.

More reason to never try this game.

@magnumc500 I think Pass 2 is up for preorder tomorrow, but no one knows when the first fighter will be out. Byleth and the recently announced Mii costumes like Cuphead are dropping tomorrrow too I think, right!?

Not sure what the Wii and Wii U percentages were in their heyday, but it seems this is the best support Nintendo’s gotten in yeaaaaars

I think it made sense for them to do a less exciting character like Byleth as the final of this pass, as it will be more impactful to start pass 2 with a fighter everyone’s excited for. That said, I’m not stoked for Byleth, even tho I like Three Houses, but I’m fine with it. No point in complaining really:)

Nice review! Glad to hear the music is great. Also stoked about the short playtime.. currently still slogging thru DQXI, and tho I looove it, it’s sort of intimidating to work thru epic games these days. Especially with so many in the backlog.

Also find it funny that everyone keeps think we neeeeed to know more information about AC. I doubt there’s going to be anything too groundbreaking. Though of course I’d love it if there was.. Let’s just be patient and get stoked when it finally arrives!
