Happy to see Nintendo coming thru for E3! I’ve always loved and looked forward to it, and this statement is pointing to a nice Direct and some Treehouse at least. I wish Sony would come back too just because it makes the whole event stronger for sure.

I played thru the first two Shining Force and Dragon Force back in the day but never got a chance to play SF3. Would love to. And I would be so freaking stoked if they revived these series faithfully/remastered/anything

I like the design but yea the 1st gen power A’s were no good so can’t shake that I’m gonna feel the same about this one. I also prefer joy con for most games as I like to have my hands separated, better for wrists and posture!

@caiozf mannn I replayed Kid Chameleon recently and it was so bad. My childhood memory was that it was awesome. It really doesn’t hold up at all at all:/ have you tried it recently!? I was bummed.

My first time playing it and I’m absolutely loving my time. My girlfriend can play with me and lose all my lives and still have fun and it’s just great. Plus I got the cat amiibos just cause! Got it physical as I do w bigger titles;)

I just beat the Triangle Strategy Demo,, playing some Psyvariar Delta here and there, looking to dig into Mario 3D World and Age of Calamity more soon as I’ve put them aside while I tackle the Feb Album Writing Month challenge. Really tempted to get BD2 for some classic ol rpg goodness but not sure I want to commit to another epic tale at this moment..

Really looking forward to it:) I haven’t bought a Pokémon game since Silver,, I love the charm and all of it and love old school rpg type gameplay but the catch em all thing has never appealed to me. I wanna focus on a core party not 100s of potentials. Same reason I’ve avoided Ni No Kuni. Now gotta photo em all I can get into...

@SeeEmilyPlay I agree, and usually do the same for any game with voice acting just because I find that I can immerse myself in the experience more and the Japanese is usually acted so much better. I heard you can change to Japanese or even turn off the voice acting altogether so that’s cool.

Sounds pretty great to me. I’ve been pining for a true classic rpg with modern touches. Just gotta find the time....

The side quest thing does sound a bit dull, but def to be expected with any sort of jrpg really. I was supremely annoyed by Xenoblade Chronicles side quests.... wayyy too much back and forth for nominal reward. And wayyy too many of them.
I’m sure BD isn’t nearly as bad in that regard.

I agree because I fall into this trap as well. I love the act of obsessing over future titles, and have often had more fun doing so than actually playing the damn games. And so yes there’s beauty in the hype and anticipation, but allowing that to supersede the actual playing of said games is so sad. It really speaks to the human condition of always looking ahead (or behind) and not appreciating what we have! Thanks for the read.

Thanks for the positive outlook approach NL! I agree. This year I got Xenoblade, Pikmin 3, Paper Mario, Animal Crossing, Clubhouse Games, Hyrule Warriors and Mario 3D All Stars. That’s 7 very solid games. And this doesn’t cover all the great digi games I fell in love with like Streets of Rage, A Short Hike, and Lonely Mountain. And I know I’m missing a ton of the great 3rd party games and other indies. Considering how bad 2020 was, Nintendo was still a saving grace from me. Really helped me thru some hard times.

I experienced some serious loss this year. This and Spiritfarer are really calling to me. Thanks for the review. It sounds beautiful. I’m not so into point and click titles, couldn’t get into The Almost Gone , but hoping I can get into this one.

This game looks beautiful! And pretty unique. I’m looking forward to it...at some point!

I haven’t played on the new “enhanced” versions, but personally I don’t think these are great controllers. Good enough to use, but a official pro feels much better to me. I’ve always tried to avoid 3rd party controllers since getting burned back in the day!

Also I mostly prefer joy cons separated as they allow me to have better posture when gaming. I love split controllers for that reason.

I just started my quest last week! Loving it so far. Tho keep getting sidetracked with all the side missions...

@MS7000 definitely agree, tho surprisingly they have worked out drift somehow apparently! Not sure how well it works tho.

I was really disappointed with the demo... Hopefully the games improved a bunch since. Tho I finally succumbed and just ordered Xenoblade Chronicles DE so I guess that’ll keep me busy for long enough that I can skip BD2 if it isn’t top notch!

Though come to think of it, printing nice quality paper in full color is expensive. I used to make zines and doing a 40pg (8.5x9” cut in half) Black n white would cost about $4 at Kinkos/Fedex.

I agree it’s a bit expensive.. $5 would’ve been nice. But I do commend them for the effort in making it. Think I’m gonna buy it. I just miss well crafted manuals so much.

From how this was written, it seems like you only get the new difficulty level if you beat this demo,, can someone confirm? Seems an odd choice.

Wouldn't have been my top pick by any means, and that said I'm absolutely stoked. Even never playing a Minecraft game. It's going to bring so much creativity to the game. Listening to Sakurai talk about the difficulties of bringing that world into this one -oh man that took a lot of work - re-working every stage even - dag!

Good points. Especially with Xbox Series being backwards comparable w every generation, and upgrading like you said- apparently even Xbox 1 games will be getting Framerate boosts along with the graphic enhancements. That’s amazing.

I guess what I’d be most bummed about is how Nintendo’s been filling their release schedule with Wii U games instead of new titles, but they’ve done a decent job keeping new releases coming overall.

@rjejr ah I’ve never heard of such sites that’s cool. Definitely much better to play physical board games and cards. If you don’t have people around to play with tho, Clubhouse is awesome. I’ve been playing solitaire the most which come to think of it, that’s one I can easily play in physical form...doh
